Talk about having a dope coffee shop next to us! Unfortunately, the salon shut down before this joint was open. I work on 5th and Bannock so I frequent the joints by us. Today was my lucky day and I'm excited to be able to finally try this place out! Walking in, the venue is stunning. The fireplace, the dark walls and the pretty flowers on each table. I don't know what it is but I love floral pieces on tables. It just adds a simple prettiness to the space. It's a smaller venue but I find smaller venues more intimate, personal. The big windows give so much lighting into the shop. It has such a great vibe to sit, enjoy your drink and appreciate the views of downtown. I made my way to the counter. I pretty much order the same thing when I go check out new to me coffee shops. There were 2 gals behind the counter. The first gal greeted me. She did kind of throw me off by the way she asked if I have ever been in, I told her no. It was her tone, I just never had someone be so assertive about my first visit. She told me the drinks were on the board for me to check out. I did ask for sugar free syrup options. The other gal behind the counter told me of two but someone behind me informed me about the syrup list. They actually had a few which was nice. So, I got my usual drink of an iced americano with sugar free white chocolate and room for cream. I grabbed a seat by the window. The gentleman said that my drink will be dropped off to me. He was really kind. I talked to him about other shops around them that could touch up on their customer service. It's refreshing to receive good service when service isn't taken seriously now a days. I appreciate that he took the time to talk to me even though me l he was in the middle of something. The chairs by the window are the best. It was cloudy today. The faux fire fireplace gave off some comfy feels while chillin in this space. The second barista dropped off my drink. I was ready to inhale all this much needed caffeine! My drink was good. It was sweet which I appreciate! I didn't have to add any extra sweetner to it. The cream was the perfect amount. The espresso was a bit watered down. I tasted the coffee but I was expecting more bitterness from the espresso which wasn't quite there. Next time I'll order the smaller size so that the espresso is a little more noticeable. Or add another shot of espresso to get the blood pumping! I have heard great things about Roast and Vine from my clients. I'm happy I got to try this joint out today! They were on my to go list and it's dope that I get to mark it off now. This venue is perfect for any situation. First date, after work drinks, homework or just to chill. My drink was good, not the best but good. I know that the barista making my drink was new and needed some guidance. For her first americano, she did a good job. I look forward to coming back now that it's getting warmer. I'll be more than happy to walk down to this part of downtown to grab a drink and support a local coffee joint.

They were out of the tapioca pearls, but I usually get yogurt flavored poppers at other places, so since they didn't have those, I got the lychee poppers. Unfortunately, to no fault of theirs, the milk curdled-- milk curdles when a citrusy fruit is introduced to it, and I didn't know lychee was a tropical fruit. It completely ruined the taste, but what I got to taste of it before accidentally popping the lychee pearls was delicious! I decided to go back the next day because I really wanted to try their drinks for real, and I told the woman at the counter what happened the previous day. She was deeply apologetic and thanked me for telling her so that they can warn customers in the future. Then, after ordering their Lavender drink (the ube/purple yam milk tea) with tapioca boba, she gave me a discount for the previous days trouble! I felt so respected, it was incredibly kind, and I didn't even have to ask. It was SO delicious. It tasted like candied yams, and had a similar starchy sweetness to red bean paste. Their tapioca pearls were AMAZING, much better than any other place I've tried in the valley. They weren't too chewy and they were just the right amount of sweetness. I also wanted to mention that their cups are GREAT. Really durable and high quality. I may just buy an extra cup next time I go. It is definitely worth the drive and the visit. Seating is varied but favors small groups, and does not really accommodate the digital nomad. They offer the usual coffee selections with a few specialty drinks. I had the Butter Latte. Wow! It is basically a toned down bulletproof coffee but with lots of flavor. Service is friendly and personable. Our group was greeted at the door and the staff were happy to offer recommendations. I will be going back the next time I am in Boise.

I ordered the Blueberry Cinnamon Roll Twist and asked for it warmed up, but received it cold because it missed the note at checkout. When I brought it back, the gentleman at the counter was incredibly polite. He explained that they normally serve it cold so the cream cheese topping doesn't melt. I told him I didn't mind the melt, and he immediately warmed it up for me. It was phenomenal--warm, rich, and even better than the standard Cinnamon Twist (which was also excellent, flaky, and perfectly spiced). I also tried two drinks: 1. Iced Banana Bread Latte with Cold Foam: Super creamy, sweet, and absolutely delicious. 2. Vanilla Bean Matcha with Oat Milk: This was my first time ever trying matcha. Because I have hypothyroidism, I read up on how matcha can be beneficial for thyroid health depending on the milk and syrups used. I went with a Classic Nutella crepe, which was loaded with Nutella, bananas, strawberries and whipped cream. It was delicious. I got it to-go and while I waited one of the employees who was cleaning up a table engaged in wonderful conversation and gave really good recommendations for the others places in the new little area they are in. My husband's however, was the Mistica and it was supposed to have beef, but the entire thing tasted like Italian pizza sausage, you could not taste anything else at all. He did say it tasted okay, but would have liked to taste more than just the meat. Then the drinks, I knew as it was an espresso shop I could not get drip coffee but my husband wanted orange juice and while they have a fresh squeezed orange / carrot juice, it costs 10.00!! He got it, but holy cow that is expensive! We will probably be back to try their waffles and/or sweet crepes, but will bring coffee and OJ from home.
