I recently checked out this relatively new coffee shop in Boise and I am obsessed! Coffee drinks that look like cocktails, sign me up! They have a rotating seasonal menu, which is so fun! You can get a new drink every time you visit! They also have a handful of pastries to choose from as well as sourdough bagels. My favorite was the ham and Swiss and the pesto artichoke. I ordered the salted honey vanilla shaken espresso and it was a solid 10/10. This feels like an upscale coffee shop where every detail has been thought of to enhance your coffee experience.

Hidden Grounds is such a cute spot, albeit with terrible parking that's not their fault at all. I love that they use organic ingredients, and their speciality coffees are quite tasty. The employees have always been friendly. Kind of small so seating can be a bit of a challenge if you want to stay in. The only reason really for taking off one star is that their prices are high. Again, they use quality ingredients but so do some others in the Treasure Valley at lower prices. I'd give them 4.5 if Yelp did partial stars. A great addition to the Boise coffee scene.

Hidden Grounds is easily my new favorite coffee shop in the area. The most important factor in any coffee shop review? The coffee--and Hidden Grounds absolutely delivers. Their grass-fed butter latte is phenomenal! It's rich, creamy, and perfectly buttery, striking just the right balance between bold coffee flavor and velvety steamed milk. Best of all, it's not too sweet--exactly how I prefer my lattes. Honestly, I love the butter latte so much that I've been reluctant to try anything else--what if nothing else lives up to it? But beyond their stellar coffee, the service here is fantastic. The staff is always warm and welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience. The only downside? The space is a bit small, so I try to visit during quieter hours. Luckily, with warmer weather on the way, outdoor seating will be an option. Parking can be tricky, but there's a bike shop across the street that allows customers to use their lot. You can also park on Catalpa Dr. and take a short, enjoyable walk before and after your coffee. If you haven't been to Hidden Grounds yet, you're missing out!

A newly open organic coffee shop in Boise. I had an oat milk latte with macadamia syrup and a pastry. My coffee and konign aman was good. I would definitely come back.

Thank goodness for living in a rainy city ..I had prepared all my life for this moment. When we…read morearrived, it was absolutely pouring, and being from the Pacific Northwest, we didn't think twice about waiting in line .As soon as the rain let up, though, the line grew dramatically, so we were glad we had stuck it out. The bakery itself is small, but the display case is anything but. It's packed with beautifully crafted pastries, each one more tempting than the last. Honestly, everything looked worth trying. We settled on the Rose Croissant and the Lox Croissant Sandwich, and both were excellent. The rose croissant was a standout with the rose flavor delicate yet present in every bite, which is rare for floral pastries. It never became overpowering or faded into the background or tasted artificial. The true star of the meal, however, was the lox croissant sandwich. It was absolutely stellar and one of the best savory pastries we've had in a long time. The coffee was just okay, but that was fine because the pastries completely stole the show. The staff worked quickly despite the steady stream of customers. There is a bit of seating both indoors and outdoors, although most people seemed to be taking their orders to go ,perhaps because of the weather. If you're visiting, come for the pastries. They're absolutely worth the wait.

If you're like us and like specialty coffee flavors like salted caramel, lavender, honey, etc., this probably isn't the spot for your coffee fix. That said... the pastries are absolutely worth the visit! Everything we tried was beautifully made and delicious. Just a heads up: it gets very crowded and busy, so I'd recommend arriving early or going in with a little patience. It's not typically a quick grab-and-go stop, but the pastry treats make it worth slowing down for!

Luckily I was there that day and was able to snag a chocolate bar. I remember it being so good! I thought today was a good day for a sweet treat so I made my way in! My husband's request was an apple fritter if they had any. I came in later in the afternoon and surprisingly there were still quite a few donuts available. I was happy that there was quite a selection still. They all looked so good! Even the classic glazed looked tasty. After looking over the goodies, I decided on a half dozen of mixed donuts. The sweet lady behind the counter was so patient with me as I was looking and second guessing my choices. With the mixed variety you get 3 classic, 2 specialty and 1 extra fancy donut. I snagged a round glazed, a chocolate and maple bar, 2 apple fritters and a fancy donut with cream and strawberries on top. I was planning on giving 3 of the goodies to my in laws. I asked the sweet lady for an extra box and with no hesitation she grabbed it got me. I was able to get my goodies sorted. I dropped off the maple bar, an apple fritter and the cream and strawberry donut to my in laws. My father in law loves apple fritters and didn't hesitate to grab it from the box and claim it right away. 0 He enjoyed half of it and is saving the other half for later. Nothing but great things were said about his treat. I forgot to mention earlier that the sweet lady gave me two donut holes in my box. I snacked on those and mannnnn were they good! They were so soft and sweet. I just wanted a little something so it was perfect! My husband devoured his apple fritter. I didn't even get a bite! I'm happy he enjoyed it! I was recently at Krispy Kreme and honestly the donut I got tasted stale. Like it had been sitting out for more than a day. I only had 2 small donut holes and they blew Krispy Kreme out of the water, it was night and day. I'm happy I got to stop in today and grab some goodies. The donuts were amazing! The service was great! And I got to support a local business in my area! I look forward to coming back and grabbing more treats for my family/friends sometime soon.

On the morning we stopped in there weren't a lot of choices and judging by the size of the cases on the counter that's typical. We tried buttermilk, cream puff, strawberry frosted heart shaped donuts and a glazed croissant. My daughter rated the cream puff donut a solid 5 star! I give major props to that little glazed croissant- it was delicious but I also appreciate that it wasn't huge. I felt satisfied but not sickly full afterward. I tried the buttermilk later in the day and it wasn't okay, the frosted donut for a similar review from my daughter- like, solid food donuts but nothing we couldn't find at the local grocery store bakery. Worth the stop if you're in the immediate area, not a destination spot though.

I have driven by this shop a million times but never got the chance to make it in. After checking out all their photos and goodies off their website, making my way in today was a must. The shop is very small and intimate. You are immediately greeted by all the goodies as soon as you walk in. Colorful macarons, the cutest cheesecakes and beautifully displayed scones and muffins. The display case is nice and bright, allowing you to be able to see the details and coloring of each macaron. The pretty piping on the cheesecake. The fun layers of the cakes. It was hard not to want one of each thing out of the case. It was our first visit for my daughter and I. As a new customer, you're trying to absorb everything about this store. You want to look at all your options! The gal that initially was going to help us pretty much just stood there and stared at us. Didn't really talk to us. Didn't ask if we had any questions. She had the most unpleasant look on her face. It honestly made me feel so unwanted and uncomfortable to be at the shop. I offered to let another customer go ahead of us so she wasn't just standing there waiting for us to order something. The second customer also needed some time. Finally a gentleman came in and she got him some coffee started. Another gal was working and she helped us. At that point, I was so turned off about getting anything but we were already there so we decided to grab a few things. My daughter and I decided to share a 6 pack of macarons. We snagged lemon, birthday cake, coffee, chocolate, creme brulee and cookies and cream as our flavor choices. She also got a red velvet cheesecake for us to share after dinner tonight. On our ride home, we broke that box of macarons open and had to try them all. The lemon was sweet and tangy, I love the lemon custard in the middle. Birthday cake reminds me of a pink frosted animal cookie. The chocolate was my favorite! Very chocolate forward and sweet. Coffee reminded me of a vanilla latte in cookie form. Cookies and cream was much like cookies and cream ice cream. More cream forward and less chocolate cookie. Creme brulee had sugar toasted on top which created a slight bitterness to the cookie but it was balanced with how sweet the cookie was. All 6 macarons were fabulous! I look forward to having the red velvet cheesecake after dinner tonight. I like that there are so many gluten free options at this bakery. I adore how petite and prettily decorated the pastries were. I appreciate that this joint is local as I love supporting local businesses. But, first impressions are so huge for me and my first impression of their customer service wasn't there for me. You can push out great products all you want but how you make someone feel during their purchase can make or break your business. As fantastic as my macarons were, all I can think about was how uncomfortable I was when I was just being stared at. Macarons and cheesecake can be purchased at a few joints in our valley. I'm happy I got to enjoy some goodies with my daughter but I'm going to go support another local business that will actually make me feel like a valued customer and not a bother.

The other person there was great though! I was drawn in by the array of unique flavors and vegan options. I had really wanted to get something boozy and vegan, but they only had one flavor on at the moment that fit the bill and I wasn't particularly interested, so I sampled a few of the dairy boozy flavors and went with a vegan non-boozy ice cream for my actual order because a full scoop of dairy ice cream does not sit right in my stomach. I liked the boozy flavors more but that was only because of the flavors offered - the vegan ice cream itself was great, very smooth and creamy, not overly sugary. I got the float season vegan ice cream: blackberry ice cream with salted dark chocolate. I did still enjoy this flavor a lot. I really liked the crunchy bittersweet dark chocolate bits. I didn't get anything to drink but I was kind of tempted. The ice cream + beer or wine flights looked interesting. I don't know wine well enough to comment, but it looked like they had a good selection of beer with quality brewers and a good variety of beer types. This is technically a Warehouse Food Hall vendor but it's only accessible from the street outside the food hall. I wasted a few minutes wandering around the food hall trying to find it before I looked outside. They have a fair amount of seating inside and outside.
