When I walked in, she looked as if she didn't want to be there, offering no greeting or smile, and had a demeanor similar to an angry school teacher. She pointed to the chair, and asked me in a brusque manner, "What do you want to do today?" I specifically told her that I wanted to clean up my eyebrows without thinning them out. Despite this, she proceeded to roughly remove the hairs, causing me a lot of pain and leaving me with uneven eyebrows. When I pointed out that one eyebrow was thinner than the other, she refused to take responsibility for her mistake, blamed my eyebrows, and simply walked away. To add insult to injury, after threading my eyebrows, she didn't even apply any gel or cream, which is the usual practice to soothe the skin. When I asked her for some, she rudely extended her arm out to me with the gel and told me to do it myself. To make matters worse, I had gone to the salon two days before my birthday, and now I have to celebrate with thin, uneven eyebrows and a couple of scars. I'm extremely unhappy with the service I received, and I won't be returning to the salon. I do want to mention that during a previous visit, another esthetician, a kind and patient woman from Bombay, did an excellent job on my eyebrows. However, based on my most recent experience with the owner, I cannot recommend this salon. If you're looking for someone who is gentle, patient, and follows instructions, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I usually park at Whole Foods and do some grocery shopping afterwards, so I get my parking reimbursed, which is a nice bonus. The place is always clean and everyone is friendly and nice. I asked for foil but realized that I was not getting foils but rather a color match of my roots to the hair. I assumed that it would look ok. My hair looked so terrible after the dye job - it was orange and a grey white color. I simply could not walk out of there looking like that so said perhaps colour it light brown. I was assured that the orange would disappear. It didn't - my roots still had an orange tinge and to top it off the brown had a green tinge. I'm so darn polite. When I was asked about the cut I said just a trim of the edges, max an inch. I did not want him doing anything more as it seemed that he did more harm than good. I could see major chopping going on and decided to just call it quits. No blow dry..cut my losses. I went to another salon to try and repair the damage. The cut was so bad that one side was a full inch shorter than the other. They confirmed that the roots were orange and that the brown had a green tinge and that the cut was so bad that it needed to be redone to even out the differences in length. The repairing salon said there was so much damage I had to let my hair sit 10 days. I had a cut though and ended up with hair that was six inches shorter than I went in with oil order to get things evened off. I will never ever go back to this salon or ever go to Edison. While the salon owner did not cause any of the damage...the attitude that she was not interested in my concerns is disappointing, It is her business and such a horrific job reflects on her. She should have been respectful and listened. My advice to Addison was that he needs training. We go to a salon for expertise and in my mind, there was no expertise involved at all.

Moving forward, she even decided to continue making harsh and negative comments about Vietnamese people and their culture about how dirty they are and a bunch of negative stories about this one Vietnamese girl who rented a chair at her salon. It was a total gong show and I can't tolerate racism and discrimination. I certainly will never ever be returning to this salon ever again.
