They recommended 70% for their milk tea, meaning their milk tea is on the bitter tea and non-sweet size. We normally order 10-25% sweet at other milk tea places, but I would recommend getting 50% sweet at Wanpo to fully taste their milk tea. A cute and decorated boba shop located in a small plaza with ample parking. The store does not have seating but instead has many decorations including anime figures and posters which you can browse while waiting for your drink. After trying more drinks, still good, but 3.75 stars may be more reasonable. Their boba seems to be a little on the softer & smaller side. They have an adequate amount of drink options, and I like that they have some "pure tea" options, like you can get Biluochun green tea. Speaking of, I recently ordered this Biluochun tea (ordered online via snackpass for pickup; it was 30 min before closing), and I swear I got a black tea lol (tasted like a bo-lei/pu'er tea), but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I still enjoyed the tea, which wasn't watered down nor over steeped, and also enjoyed the other drink I got which was the sugar cane Baozhong oolong tea. I don't think they get too many requests for gift cards here so it took them some time and three people to figure it out, but eventually they were able to get a balance loaded on a branded gift card for me and even gave me a cute envelope holder to store it in. read more

I got the Jasmine green tea latte just because of the description (said to be a more bitter tea taste than their milk tea options to which I prefer 10 times more than a regular milk tea). Their milk drinks come with whole milk automatically but they have an option of almond or oat milk for substitution for a dollar extra. I tried my Boyfriend's matcha latte and since im not a fan of whole milk I couldn't drink more of it.... but the little taste I had I felt that the whole milk overwhelmed the matcha taste in the drink. The mango pomelo sago is really good. It has the perfect mango flavoring and the topping inside are chewy and delicious. One of the best mango sago I've had because of how vibrant the flavor is. I don't believe there's any places around anymore that sell mini peals, so I'm so glad that Wanpo does. Definitely don't skip out on adding that as your toppings. I absolutely love this Wanpo location. I go once every couple weeks since it is near my work and I like this location the most mainly because it has character of its own. As soon as you walk in, you are bombarded with anime figures and posters on their walls which I like and it's more unique than the Palo Alto location I've been to. The staff is also super friendly. They use the Snackpass app like a lot of other boba shops do so you can order ahead which is way more convenient than going inside to order on their kiosk. You get a text when your order is ready. Parking is also not difficult in this location and it is a more lowkey spot. My favorite flavor is easily their Oolong Tieguanyin Milk Tea which is one of their more popular flavors and it reminds me a lot of the Tieguanyin tea that you can get when having Dim Sum at a Chinese restaurant. It has a really nice tea flavor and it still has plenty of sweetness even if you go below 100%. Yuenyeung Latte ( Coffee W/Milk Tea ) is another favorite of mine although the downside is you can't select a larger size because I always want more of it. When I'm in Millbrae, this is my go-to boba shop to go to mainly because of the convenience and the high quality. read more

Came here during their grand opening years back and I am still a regular at Wanpo after all these years. I love their drinks selections and my go-to has always been the herbal tea with taro balls. Especially after a hot pot meal or when I feel like I have yeet hay, the herbal tea is my go-to. Their matcha latte is also better than a lot of the matchas from boba places, especially as someone who makes their own matcha at home with ceremonial grade matcha like Marukyu Koyamaen, Yamamasa Koyamaen, Ippodo, etc. I actually really like their matcha latte and would order it from time to time if I don't want to use my matcha stock at home since there's a shortage right now on matcha powders. The Matcha Latte definitely had too much whole milk, I think next time I'd try with almond or oat milk to see if it tastes better. Wanpo has been a recent favorite spot for milk tea!! My usual is the Oolong Milk Tea. I love the strong notes of tea. 70% sugar is just right for me. I love that they serve mini pearls. They're always the perfect consistency. The wanpo milk tea is also a great choice. Sometimes during the weekend, they'll have free samples to try. It's one of those spots that sort of hidden on El Camino in Millbrae, and unless you actually look for it, it's pretty easy to miss as the shopping center and signage itself isn't super obvious or have a lot of flare. It's also on El Camino, so the streets are really wide, so it's easier to miss if you're not looking far into the other side of the street while walking. The place is a self-order kiosk place, so just head to the side tablet to get your order in. The pricing here is decent, and might be cheaper than some of the other boba places down the street off El Camino in Millbrae. The place itself is more of a to-go spot, as there's really not much seating anywhere. It's also decorate interestingly, that is to say if you like anime/manga, you'll probably appreciate the decor here. It's a cute spot balancing both the tea side of things right behind the counter, and then the fun other stuff everywhere else. The drink itself was good on this day. Got just the standard milk tea with boba. The milk tea was mixed well, and the tea flavors were nice. The boba was made well (QQ), and plenty of it inside. Probably one of the better spots for just milk tea if you are looking for one in this area. I would recommend any boba goer hit up this spot, since Wanpo, though have a few locations, is going to be slightly different than some of the other major chains. DISAPPOINTMENT. My husband and I like to check out new places that sell boba tea, so we stopped here. The place is neat. I liked their walls, which look so authentic. However... My weakness is the grapefruit tea with a salty cheese foam. It's the stuff! However, Wanpo Tea Shop thinks the two are incompatible. Wait, what? Yes, yes, they refused to put the salty cheese foam on top of my drink, no matter how much I asked or persuaded them that it is one of my favorite combinations. Even though their tea was very good, and my review is fairly positive, I'm still frustrated. 4.25 stars. If you didn't grow up with squishy things in your drinks (& desserts), I could see how Asian tea shops might be confusing/intriguing for you. Those of us who did, know: the more balls, the better! My go-to drink at Wanpo is the Mango Pomelo Sago which comes with the softest sago & the fluffiest taro balls. Love the bits of tart pomelo, & the coconut milk & mango smoothie complement one another deliciously. I've also tried the Coconut Purple Rice Taro Milk. It doesn't have a slushie consistency like the Mango Pomelo Sago but I like its thick taro consistency & chewy rice. I couldn't customize my drink to substitute sago for boba on the kiosk where you place your order, but the owners were happy to make the switch when I asked. They have a friendly team member that offers free samples and an efficient kiosk and timer board that makes it clear when you're drinks are ready. This way you don't have a ton of people hovering over the drink pickup area. We tried their milk tea and a few other drinks while there. If you know me, you know I'm always looking for another boba spot and I've found one! Wanpo is located in a small shopping strip with a parking lot--always a plus! I came by on a Friday mid-afternoon with 2 friends and it was not busy at all. I ordered two drinks at the kiosk and only had to wait a few minutes. I got the Wanpo milk tea with mini boba (70% sweet, less ice) and the mango pomelo sago (less sweet). Both drinks were on the popular list. I really enjoyed the milk tea. It was high quality and you could really taste the tea flavor, which is important to me when looking for good milk tea. I was so excited to see they offer mini boba pearls but was disappointed by the texture. The mini pearls were a bit overcooked and didn't have the perfect chew factor that I was looking for. In fact, they were so expanded that they no longer looked mini but medium size (in between a mini and regular tapioca pearl). The mango pomelo sago was for my partner and he liked his drink as well, although it was a little tarty--probably a combination of the less sweet option plus mangoes not being in season? I would possibly opt for full sweetness on this next time. The shop is decorated with a lot of cute little figurines but unfortunately there is no seating. My friends and I ended up grabbing some snacks at the Wingstop next door so that we would have somewhere to sit and chat. Overall, the drinks here are yummy. Excited to have another local boba shop! I have seen this location at stanford shopping center before but never got around to trying it. They were open Christmas Day so we tried the classic milk tea.
