My boyfriend and I love Yomie for the taste and health benefits of Beijing yogurt, but they've been out of yogurt for the past week and have only been serving milk tea and fruit tea. I'm worried that they'll close down due to lack of marketing and drumming up enough business. The taste of these yogurt drinks is tangy and sweet, and the additional fiber from purple rice and oats makes for an amazing layered texture. The service can be hit or miss, but it's largely a takeout/beverage spot and you order from a tablet in the first place. My favorite order is the strawberry or honeydew yogurt with less sugar. Give Yomie Yogurt a try when you have a chance, you won't regret it. read more

This place was very meh. This is a little boba shop where you can order at a kiosk or the counter and has some places you could sit. We ordered at the kiosk since the workers don't even acknowledge you even when they aren't busy. The Ube Purple Rice had extra texture with the Purple Rice, but I have had better. All you could really taste was the Yogurt and nothing else in this drink, and wish it had more Purple Rice. The Mango Yogurt also didn't have enough Mango flavor. Hoped to satisfy a craving but ended up disappointed. Regrets for having tried this place for the first time and it will also be my last. I was looking for a non-boba drink in Millbrae and found this place on yelp. It sounded like a good idea....a yogurt drink (semi healthy since it is probiotic) with some Asian toppings/flavors. Upon stopping in, the lady behind the counter did not greet me. She was very abrupt when she took my order. I opted for the jujube and purple rice yogurt drink, less sweet. It sounded good on the menu, but when I actually tried it, it was a huge disappointment. There was barely any jujube or purple rice. It didn't taste like there was any sweetener added at all. Great spot for a hefty snack. Tried Yomie's purple rice yogurt drink and it's a creamy, yogurt drink with soft rice pieces mixed in. Nice to feel somewhat healthier when having a snack. I ordered the red bean milk tea and it was good. But, I feel like I could get the same drink elsewhere for a cheaper prince. My child got a strawberry and mango yogurt. It tasted like the mini pouch yogurts that we can get at a grocery store. So the drinks will not bring me back. I would come if I was in the area and this was the closest boba place and I really wanted a drink. Drinks are ok, but price on the expensive side. I also looked at the dried teas the sell on the side shelf. However they were dusty and some of the canisters were kind of dented. I'm a big fan of purple rice drinks in general, and Yomie's always hits the spot! The service here is hit or miss. The ordering screen doesn't always work, and the person taking my order did not seem too thrilled that I had to order through them instead of using the ordering screen. There was also one time where I came in around late afternoon on a Sunday, and was told that they were sold out of purple rice yogurt drinks for the day. That was a bummer but it's good to know that they have limited quantities sometimes. Came here on Sunday and honestly very disappointed with the overall experience. 1. Ordering: the screen was completely not working and when we tried to tell the person, the guy mentioned that the lady will take the order for us. That said, it turns out that the system just automatically print a receipt when she punched in the order regardless of your payment (bad system), and again she require me to enter tip and sign for the payment in the bad screen that was malfunctioning earlier. There was barely any durian flavor, and even the yogurt itself tasted very bland, almost like it had been watered down. Toward the end it was mostly icy bits with just a faint sour-sweet taste. I've come here occasionally before and it was fine, but this time it was honestly unacceptable for the price. I have been buying from this particular shop for multiple years. Mainly for their salty egg yogurt drink with purple rice. This specific drink is good and that's what brings me back mostly. However, their availability of other drink ingredients and customer service has gone downhill significantly over time. When asked for any other drinks, you got like half chances some ingredients is not available. Then when I ask if some of their drink could be customized to exclude tea (for my kids), they would be so rigid and not willing to customize at all with some kind of attitude. Props for some unique menu items, but not a fan of the signature purple rice yogurt. The rice is so bitter and the yogurt is so sour. I just... couldn't. The interior of the cafe is also unpleasant. Smells strongly like cleaning solution and there was a ton of condensation inside the windows (i.e., the INSIDE of all the windows were wet, not the outside). Heard good things about the Yomie in Oahu so I was excited to try the Millbrae location. I wasn't sure what to expect but the purple yogurt rice drink tastes exactly how it sounds - plain yogurt and plain rice. If you like those flavors and textures you would enjoy it but it personally wasn't for me. We also got the Mango Pomelo Sago (called "Yanghzi manna yoghurt" on the self-serve tablet) which was more blended and icy, but still creamy and yummy. But after a while, the coldness of the drink froze the sago which affected the texture. This review is mostly for the girl working on January 16th at 12pm. We had trouble finding the mango pomelo sago on the self-serve tablet, so I asked her where I could find it on the menu. She swung the tablet around and started clicking around for it, then swung it back without saying a word. It wasn't labeled as Mango Pomelo Sago and she didn't say anything so I confirmed with her if that was the one. She just nodded her head yes so I said okay and paid for the drink. I just assumed she had lost her voice or couldn't speak but when the drinks were ready she called our order number perfectly fine??? When I was a bobarista even on my worst days I would still respond to customers... We were just there about 30-40 mins ago. It was our first time going here. I was ready to leave because the young lady didn't even acknowledge us when we entered and when we were ordering at the kiosk, my sister asked her a question and completely ignored her because she was busy on her phone. We thanked her when we got our drinks and when we left, no response at all. We loved our drinks, we had the mango pomelo sago and mango yogurt drink but I don't think we will be coming back if that's the service we receive. What I do think is worth buying are the fruit yogurt drinks, aka the drinks that aren't half rice at the bottom. I got my parents the durian yogurt and they really enjoyed it! My boyfriend got the mango pomelo sago and we both agreed that it was the best thing that we ordered. It's really good here! We loved it! We ordered our drinks to be less sweet and they were just right in sweetness for us. (you can adjust the sweetness when you order) I would come back for the mango pomelo sago and other fruity drinks, but not the rice yogurt drinks, it's just too heavy for me. I had to come out and try Yomie's after hearing that it could be a healthier bubble tea alternative. Anything to save some extra calories! We tried the Yomie's purple rice yogurt drink (less sweet) and it was just okay to me. I usually only get 50% sweetness for boba, but the less sweet option was too bland for me -- maybe because the purple rice didn't have much flavor. I enjoyed the purple ratio texture, but I felt like it didn't add as much to the drink as a topping like boba does. The ratio was also a bit off so there was also way too much rice leftover at the end. I like their Seasonal Secret Fruit Tea a lot. It is a sweet Jasmine tea with lots of fruits inside. Mine have two slices of orange, 6 peeled seedless grapes, cantaloupe, lemon and lime slices, watermelon bits, and passion fruit. I mostly taste a sweet, fragrant Jasmine tea with citrus flavors. The fruits are mainly for decoration and eating.. as they are almost the size of a side fruit salad. Super refreshing! They recently added baked goods from Sam's Magic Kitchen. I sampled their Cheese Custard Pork Floss Beckham that is soooo popular in China these days. Each order contains four cubes of Pork Floss Cake that adds up to the size of two slightly thick toast. The sponge cake is light and fluffy, only slightly sweetened. I find the cheese custard mildly flavored and just enough to let the cake shine through. The sweetest thing might be the pork floss. Their hours finally expanded (used to only open until 5PM) but I was finally able to try it after work. They make their yogurt there fresh, so it takes a while for them to blend it.
