I have no clue what the difference was between the first time and the second time I called. I'm willing to give them more chances since the first time was so good. But honestly, if the second experience had been my first time with them, I would never call them again. With a 25 year old car, sometimes I will need towing. I know this, and I am willing to pay for it. But when you're spending well over $100 for a tow, you kinda expect a wee bit of politeness. They are ABSOLUTELY NOT 24 hour towing, either, depending on who you talk to. The first time, they asked if I wanted to pay the emergency tow charge or wait until rates dropped at 9:00 am. Since I knew my car would take a week to repair, I was willing to wait for the rates to drop to the daytime rate. The second time, I was totally willing to pay the night time tow charge, and was told point-blank they did not tow before 10:00 am, and they MIGHT be able to get to my place around 10:30. So, when you call, you're taking your chances on whether you get a polite person or a rude person. 9/28/23 - OK, cracked CV boot, going to try them for a 3rd time - let's see how it goes this time.

It was just after sunset and I was near broke. I waited nearly three hours for AAA to pair me up with a tow service (which of course they never did). I was pulling at my hair not knowing what to do. It was dark. I was stranded in a city I didn't know. AAA let me down. That's when I decided to seek out a local tow service and discovered that AZ Towing was only a few blocks down. Charlie was there in under 10 minutes around 1 AM. He was super helpful in giving advice and reassurance to me, a new driver with little money, and told me that I could even get my tow invoice reimbursed by AAA! When I expressed concerns about possibly needing to have my rims replaced by Discount Tire, he called his brother who offered to sell me the 4-set of his fancy new tires for only $200! I slept in the Discount Tire parking lot that night and they drove out at 3 AM just to deliver those new tires. The next morning, Charlie even drove out to Discount Tire to talk to the manager and make sure he wasn't trying to screw me. I ended up getting my tires replaced by Discount Tire entirely for FREE (despite not having a warranty) all because Charlie came to help me out. Ultimately, I didn't end up needing my rims replaced so I gave the fancy tires back to Charlie and his brothers and they gave me my money back. Great guys, wishing them the best.

Even now as I recall the event, I am shocked at how rational I was behaving under such extenuating circumstances. But I digress. The time was was 7:55 pm on a Friday night. We were 13 minutes away. Yelp indicated A1 closed at 8 PM. We weren't gonna make it. We were going to be stranded on a desert highway with nothing but sasquatch and axe murdered to keep us company at night. While us men were busy occupying ourselves with how we were going to fight off mythical creatures at night, suddenly, our female in the car did the impossible: she called Jasen, the friendly service technician, to see if he wouldn't mind staying open for another ten minutes, due to our obviously dire needs.
