I feel like this place is racist!!!...So friday morning i called at 10am and told the lady i wanted a wash& set with a trim.i asked do i need an appointment or do you accept walk ins. she said it's better to set an appointment because they get busy. i said ok what available time do you have in the afternoon and she said 4,i said ok that's perfect and she asked for my name and then she said see you at 4! i rushed to remove my box braids and set my hair with a clay mask...fast forward i get there for my appointment time and they barely acknowledge me while two women sat at the front desk,then one finally turn around and looked at my head which i had a hair mask in my hair and then she finally asked if she can help me. i told her i had an appointment and she said there's no appointment for me on here.im flabbergasted because i have a mask in my hair that needs to be washed out.i showed her on my phone what time i called in the morning. she said she don't know who i spoke to but there's no appointment for me and they booked out for the day,then she said i have very curly hair and the two females who specialize in curly hair they are booked out .right when i was coming in i saw someone else get seated,and they sat them down right away to do her hair but when it comes to me a black female with very thick 4c hair it's something else but long story short i will never return and i also found a better salon in the neighborhood to do my natural hair read more

I hate to leave bad reviews, but I've had a problem with this salon a few times. It's a hit or miss. I came for a root touch up and I left with black hair and it took out all my highlights. where to start...I went on Saturday with my friend for a men's haircut and there were lo about 7 girls there working and they made me sit and said within 15mnts we'll take care if you add there were only 2 ladies who could cut men's hair lol I mean isn't it a unisex place you claim to be so what's the problem. and I waited almost 30mnts before I walked out without anyone asking what was going on. then I decided to try again on Monday and the ladu kept talking about her son instead o hair and I started I wanted a scissor cut and she used the machine and chopped up so my hair and they charged my $30 and didn't even wash my hair as it state. I paid and left and was so annoyed at the lady and the treatment and not hearing to what I asked for. This place sucks and is no good no one works and no one knows what to do with good hair and I will never go to this place again and warn others about this place as well. read more

Yes the prices they advertise are affordable but apparently is based on hair type. Since I'm African American I was told the price for me is $69 because they have to work harder to straighten my hair. My hair wasn't kinky it was already straight. I wasn't going to over pay and know clearly I was being discriminated and ripped off. This salon appears to be great if your white but if not you probably should avoid. Today after going here for over a year it is time for an update. I love the location in Downtown Hollywood not far from my home. In Covid 19 you learn that it is important more than ever to support local businesses especially where you live. The only downside and not their fault is I have to pay to park. That means today I have the app add the zone and put in an hour $1.85 and I am done. Go inside glad to see familiar faces great me and I never have to sit and wait ie always make an appointment ahead of time. Today I had a new stylist Alex I showed him a hairstyle I wanted ie look like Dorit on RHOBH. He said he got it so I asked are you sure you don't need to see the photo again? After it was over I apologized profusely this Alex is the real deal. Don't get hung up that the prices are affordable the haircuts,highlights,manicure and pedicure are the best. To top it off they stamp a card with ever visit for your hair so today's haircut was FREE. I paid $29.90 for wash and blow dry only plus a generous tip to my new best friend Alex! read more

I came in for a nothing special appointment, wash and blowout and , an online price was around $38 , ok that seemed reasonable. I told the stylist please be sure to use sulfate free shampoo, she says that's special and will cost more , I was stunned. I told her that it's not a deep conditioner, keratin treatment or gloss why the upcharge. She said oh it's special. So I said so sulfate free shampoo with conditioner is $6 more, and she goes on to say , no that's $8 more. I said no where on line did I see that and, I've never seen anyone do that. It's precaution to not ruin a clients color treated hair. A complete waste of time and as a first time client I would have appreciated seeing this beforehand online, as ridiculous as the upcharge sounds. Beware when you schedule your appointment, if you have color treated hair, don't assume they will care to use a safe shampoo/conditioner without an upcharge. read more

I love this place. I've been coming here for the last 4-5 years. I always get my haircut with Johnny. He is the only hairdresser I'll let cut my hair. Jonathan is fantastic at blow drying. I brought my grandmother here once and she loved her haircut and manicure. I have also tried their waxing services, but ultimately decided to stick with my regular place. I'm a resident here in Hollywood Florida born and raised. I work just up the street from this salon. Every time I walk by you have to walk by a cloud of smoke from employees standing outside smoking just in front of the salon door. One day A couple of coworkers and I decided to go inside to see the price point for their services thinking what a convenient place this would be, being so close to work. Again walking through a cloud of smoke to get into the salon it was mentioned to the person at the front desk how unpleasant it is to have to walk thru the employee "smoking section" to get inside. Plus, as you get into the salon you could smell the smoke coming into the room. Would you believe the person at the front desk condoned this smoking at the entrance saying that is the only break place employees have to smoke as she shrugged her shoulders as if it was no biggie. If I could give zero stars I would. Thats how terrible this place is. I am a resident and spa owner here in Hollywood. I live 5 minutes from this place and have came here a few times for wash and blow-dry and root touch up a few weeks ago. First and foremost being a small business owner I would want to know when my employees have treated my clients inappropriately because ultimately it reflects on the business. After reading these reviews on here I decided to write mine since I first asked the salon to have business owner contact me and I will assume they will not. I was treated so rudely that I cannot even explain how disappointed I am. Rosemeri has got to be the rudest person I have encountered in a business setting and even worse in a setting that provides a service to clients. I walked in for a blow dry and when the front desk called her name she already had an attitude in her demeanor. She washed my hair with ice cold water twice and rinsed with ice cold water. I frequently go to hair salons as Im in the beauty industry and my oldest daughter is a stylist at a very busy salon in Cooper City. Rosemeri then began blow drying and trying to abruptly move my head. I was confused and she says rudely "Let me move your head" and she moves my head roughly. I was in shock that she would speak to me or maneuver my head in this way but didn't say anything. After she was done she didn't ask where I wanted my part just left my hair all fluffy so I began to try and fix it with my hand then asked if I could please use her comb and her response was no we are not allowed to let anyone touch our combs. Needless to say I will never be back. They are cheap and convenient but you get what you pay for and that's terrible service. read more

I have been steadily coming here for about a year and now Andrea found a gem of a manicurist, Michelle. She can and with a brush!..freestyle NAIL ART! Just beautiful and Johnney (sp) gives a nice sleek blowout and makes you laugh with his jokes. If I have a crap day at work sometimes I schedule a blowout with Johnny so I can laugh..You can't beat the wash and root price... Now keep in mind that everything is additional if it's not part of a package. I love the reward card and Andrea is so so sweet and will make you coffee ( hope Santa brings them a keurig and liquid coffee creamer but Starbucks is literally across the street) or help you pick a nail design. BEWARE--BAD IDEA! A friend gave me a $50 gift certificate to this horrible experience for my birthday. She went w/ me & got a pedi, which she said was not relaxing. The Latin woman kept gossiping & asking questions about her life. We were the only 2 clients in the salon on a sunny Friday morning & we were hoping for great service! Instead, I was told the only free stylist was the older African American woman, who kept gossiping about co-workers, making faces behind my back & trying to amuse me w/ fake compliments about how much I resembled Angelina Jolie...come on! She ruined my hair! She processed my roots WAY lighter than my hair. I went back the next day & a younger Puerto Rican girl "fixed" my hair & stained so many areas of my face w/ dark brown hair dye! I was incredibly embarrassed & I had to spend even more time & $ to remove the dye. I will NEVER go back! :( read more

Coming from London it took me time to find a hairdresser that I really trusted with my hair. A friend recommended Wapas so I booked an appointment. I tried a few of the stylists over a few months and eventually settled on Rosemary Ventura as she consistently made my hair look good and is a lovely, sensitive and caring person. She colors my hair perfectly and gives a great blow dry. I have long curly hair and she manages to make it look sleek and silky and, amazingly, the blow dry last for many days. I appear on TV and video so knowing my hair looks good helps me feel confident. I'm incredibly grateful to Rosemary. She is a real treasure. read more
