I like Trancas Crossing Park (TCP), but my dog? He REALLY likes it…read more TCP is a nice, small park with a good walking loop that's a little over 1/2 a mile. It is an on-leash park, so don't plan on letting Rover rove. But the loop is flat, paved, and easy. There is some damage (you can see in photos) to the trail, but at this point it has been re-routed so it's an easy walk. The park itself is pleasant to walk through and take in the nature. There are signs around telling you what you're looking at, some historical info, and paths down to the river (including a kayak launch). What I like about this place - you can walk the pooch without the fear of foxtails that Alston creates. It's quiet, and not too busy, so if you have a crazy ass puppy (talking to my dog here), you can walk them without much fanfare. There's clean restrooms, dog waste bags, and even handicapped parking near the loop. A nice, quiet option that's dog friendly? Sign me up. Pro tip: it takes at least six loops to wear out a Labradoodle puppy.

The park has a suggested donation box near the parking lot. There was a map with different trail options near it. They were open from dawn to dusk. Since we got there later, we decided to do the closest trail we found and walk up it for 20 minutes before turning around. We did a medium level vista trail that had a clear dirt path zigzagging up a mountain. It was absolutely gorgeous. While we didn't exactly make it to the main vista, we still enjoyed the stunning views of other mountains and the gorgeous wildflowers and trees. I highly recommend checking this park out.

The pass is reasonable and good for parking in all of the Sonoma Valley Parks. Friendly people and mostly mellow dogs.

The other section sits on Culpepper Street right next to the Las Flores community center. You can park on either one of these streets to gain entry, there is no parking lot except at the community center. There is a wide paved trail that connects both sections that runs through the backyard fences of the local residents. The trail also splits off to Maher Street, a very short distance away, and leads you to a separate bike path. There are no public bathrooms here unless you use the community center. Basically a wise use of green space for the local community as the photos/video attached attest.

We were in town for the day and looking for a place to eat some sandwiches we'd just purchased at a nearby deli. There weren't a lot of benches in town so we headed here. The park is overall well-maintained, with a gazebo, plenty of places to sit and a couple little monuments to view. There's plenty of shade from surrounding trees for those visiting in the peak of summer. I especially liked the little two seat tables that were perfect for lunch. I also appreciated that they had open and CLEAN, fully accessible public restrooms. This is after we were looking for a place to go in town and found everything, including even the visitor's center, closed to the public.

If you've read any of my 2 dozen park reviews, you'll know I'm a big fan of the "end of the road"…read moreparks. Anything in a cul-de-sac, is generally a safe park as it makes it a destination park rather than one that people pass through out of convenience. This means everyone who attends had full intention of being here. Indeed everyone I saw here does "belong". That means parents with kids - not random men smoking in the corner by themselves. The open grass field does need a bit of a buffer before the street which is absent here, but the field is big enough making the location of the playground a good distance from any passersby. The playground itself is super clean. Mulch is best. I hate sand that gets caught in kids shows and messes up the motors of my FPV tinywhoop quadcopter. I've been searching for the best flying locations during Covid SIP and this one is one of the good ones. Well enough kept secret that there aren't a lot of people attending this park even when it's open. That makes for a nice neighborhood feel even though my kids and I traveled 30 minutes to get here. Well worth it. The unique feature of the park is "the rock". Gotta have a unique feature for it to get 4-stars or higher. It's a nice structure for kids to climb to get to the top of the fireman's pole or to meander their way to the slide on the other side of the structure. The benches are spaced well apart and cover one perimeter of the play area. Plenty of parking, but neighbors probably could do w/o too many outsiders coming here. I didn't get any trouble from anyone. Neighbors seem decent. I'll be back. See you here. If you find me with my tinywhoop quadcopter, know it's within the 250g limit and therefore internationally recognized as toy grade and doesn't need registration with the FAA or any international equivalent. I'll keep my distance. Chances are it'll only be in the structures if it's my own kids. Otherwise, I'm out in the perimeter to give kids their well deserved space. After all, the park belongs to them.

It's a large, fenced in park with wood chips on the ground, and trees all around creating lots of shade, even on hot days. Pups have so much space to run free and sniff and play and check their pee-mail. Sensory and exercise heaven! There's a path around the inside of the park that is now paved, so a great little walking loop for the humans, if you want to get some movement in too. The new shade structure is large with tables and chairs. There are a few water spouts/fountains, and at least 3 poop bag dispensers and garbage cans. Be a good citizen and keep the park clean - scoop the poop! Our pups absolutely love this park - such a great place to socialize with other dogs. It's really helped our younger pup who is sometimes reactive when on leash. She's so much calmer and more confident off-leash. Our pups enthusiastically jump out of the car upon arrival, and leave the park tired and content! Happy dogs, happy humans!
