Huge grounds. This park is for all the sports including baseball fields, batting cages, soccer fields, a football field, and a playground. Many paths of sidewalks that are covered with plenty of shade by large trees and workout equipment along the way. The equipment utilizes your own body weight and the stations provide clear instructions on how to use them. I enjoy exercising and walking my dog around. There are dog waste stations with poop bags provided. The stations seem to me emptied often (along with all the trash cans) and never smell. Because the of shade provided, my pups paws are never hot and she tends to want to walk longer. You can find many people sitting on benches along the way reading a book and enjoying the fresh air. There is even a bike station provided with tools in case you need to tinker with your bike. The park overall has a safe feel and very enjoyable. read more

This is a spacious park tucked away in the neighborhoods of Winter Park/Cady Way Park. This review is for the playground and nature/fitness trail. I don't usually start off with a negative, but the dirt parking lot closest to the playground is the biggest drawback. The dirt gets everywhere - on your shoes and your car. I would recommend parking as close as you can to the playground gate to minimize the amount of walking in it. I can't imagine what it might be like when it rains. Other than the parking lot, everything else about this park is nice. Playground is a lot of fun, with swings, slides, and trees to climb. Bathrooms are close by. The fitness trail is the best part- the pathway is very smooth and looks to be brand new. It goes along a small creek and under trees so it's perfect for a stroll. read more

Gorgeous park area with huge recreational areas. Ran my most recent 5k here and they were well organized with parking in the nearby, unused, fields. Walking up to the start was a breeze. They have a decent amount of parking for this activities as well. There is a baseball field and an open playground. There were public access bathrooms right by the field as well, which was nice. They were clean but older. Overall: A If there's another 5k or event in the area I'll be back! read more

I love Ward Park. I play soccer and this park has several different fields to choose from! Overall great space, fields are usually up-to-tee. The rain has helped the regrowth of the grass. When I play soccer I usually play on Wed. or Mon. night for the coed leagues. There are public restrooms now that are spacious and for the most part clean. **If you are looking for the playground, it is off of Loch Lomond Drive, on the north side of the park, by baseball field. I concur with the other yelpers, this is a great spot full of fields and fun times. It is set back and had I not seen their reviews, I wouldn't have known it was there. It plays home to Winter Park Little League and a bevy of other fun things to do outside. A neat little playground is perfect for an afternoon with littles ones. Bring your lunch too since they have a fair amount of picnic tables under a covered area just in case it rains. The open basketball courts were also cool to see since it's sometimes hard to find a place to play a pick-up game. I thought it was nice to see that the Orange County Parks and Rec program is working to make this a "Field of Dreams" coinciding with their grant program and a host of partners. So although our country has big fish to fry, it was refreshing to see that the small things in life that make it great, like parks, aren't going unnoticed either. read more

Overall great space. Usually come here for Orlando Sport and Social events. Wish they would change the fields up so the grass can regrow in some spots. Parking never a problem and fields are well kept and clean!!! read more

Fields are nice, but unfortunately everything is fenced off & locked. So it is great for people who pay to be in organized sports. If you want to show up to a soccer field with friends to kick a ball around, you should be prepared to have to jump a fence to get onto a soccer field. (I remember 10+ years ago when that wasn't the case, and this park was great for all people. Sad that it became privatized.) Basketball Courts, Swingset-type stuff, & Trail are the only things available to the general public. read more

My parents found this hidden gem a few weeks ago, and brought me there this weekend. According to the website this park boasts 58 acres of baseball/softball fields, soccer/multi-purpose fields, and a football/track stadium and a state-of-the-art, handicapped-accessible playground. However, I came for the completely shaded walking\fitness trail. It's a short jog from Cady Way trail, literally right across the street from the Crosby YMCA. The trail isn't terribly long, but it has about 20 different fitness stations where you can do all kinds of strength\interval training exercises from standing push ups, to peddling a stationary unicycle. Did I mention that it is completely shaded? I can't stress that enough. SHADE! Loved it. read more

I brought my daughter to Ward Park for a meet-up with some classmates last weekend, and we got really lost. If you are looking for the playground, it is off of Loch Lomond Drive, on the north side of the park (surrounded by baseball fields). Even though we have been to this park many times in the past it is a big place and I had never noticed the playground before. It is a good-sized playground with a pavilion next to it with tables. There are restrooms close by (but no water fountains that we found, so pack water). The kids liked the playground, but their favorite thing was the large oak trees that are perfect for climbing. Our group of kids played for a solid two hours with no complaints. We only left because it started raining. This was a great spot for a group to meet up, I highly recommend it. It is a bit out of the way for us to go to regularly, but now that I've found it I'm sure we'll be back. read more

This park is amazing! If you ever need a HUGE place to practice sports or bring your team for a work out, this is the place to go. There are fields for just about every sport you can imagine - soccer, softball, football, etc. As a cycle and running obsessed man I personally love the track stadium and fitness trail. This place has everything, there even is a handicap accessible playground. I definitely recommend checking this park out. read more

I play in the Wednesday night 8coed flag football league. Grass definitely needs to be replaced...but a great overall facility!

Pros - Great park for people who want to play recreational sports. There are so many fields and almost all of them were full of people. I walked past about five or six fields and three of them had young 20-somethings playing kickball, softball, etc. The fields are kept in great condition with bright green gas and a large well maintained appearance. There's a small basketball court and a normal sized playground thats entirely shaded for children (both are next to each other). The best part is a small fitness trail set up with fitness stops along the way where you can work out various parts of your body - arms, legs, etc. The trail is shady and sleepy feeling with a quiet public road on one side. It isnt a rigorous workout - good for a 20 minute walk perhaps. The trail is directly across from the YMCA and in a great neighborhood. It's conveniently located within a 10 minute drive of Full Sail. Cons- Not a park for someone who just wants to sit on a bench and read a book. I walked awhile before giving up and sitting in the grass to read. I didnt see any people in the park that you could ask for help - no maintenance workers even. Also, if you meander away from a popular field you quickly realize that you are entirely alone. That made me a bit nervous when I saw a lone man walk past me. There's various entrances so it can get confusing on where to go and, it appears, there is no main dramatic entrance to signify you are here. The only way I found my way in was by hearing people shouting and laughing as I drove by with my windows down. Even then, I drove into a dirt road backside church parking lot before realizing that was not the place to go to get into the park. Nice park! Go watch a game play out. This park is for those who want to get active. Picnic people keep on driving. You would be amazed at the amount of softball fields and all purpose fields used for soccer and the like contained here. It even has a swimming pool and playground for the little ones as well as a beautiful fitness trail for individuals not here for practice. I, however, was here for practice, as well as games. Ward Park was home to my flag football league, so it was my home away from home Wednesday nights. This park was always crowded. From evenings to weekends, residents made use of its many fields for little league games, intramurals, practices, and even a pick up game or two if you were luck. The fields are kept up nicely and a reservation is recommened to jump on one. Its situated in Winter Park, north of Baldwin Lake but just south of Aloma Ave. It can be tricky to find, at least it was for me the first couple times so beware. You can be lost on those neighborhood streets forever if you make a wrong move. Ward Park is a great recreation facility and its one of the only ones of its size and kind in the area. So try getting that heart pumping and make use of it. read more
