Highlight of my trip to Orlando. I'm not into the overstimulation that Orlando is famous for, if you're looking for a little peaceful contemplation and relaxation come here for a leisurely stroll. There are interesting and tasteful sculptures distributed among the well planned horticulture. I love this park. There are a couple of ancient Oak trees. I'm sad to see the native green anoles are being over run by the invasive brown anoles, but they are both cute. The perfect break if you're in town for a busy convention or meeting. If you're coming to visit the art museum, plan on an hour or so to stroll through this park. read more

This community park is next to a short trail thats in between apartments, houses, business building. This a park without a playground however with unique art sculptures. Right next to the museum. The grounds are kept up nicely. I haven't seen many cyclists, however you find people walking and running near the trail read more

Loch Haven Park is a cool park with lots of sculptures and proved to be a pleasant respite on an early Sunday morning. The parking was adequate for my early Sunday morning visit. I enjoyed walking the path and seeing all the sculpture that were located within the park. All in all, I would recommend a visit here to this particular park. It is not far from the downtown Orlando area and also not far from Interstate 4. I would definitely recommend here and I will give Loch Haven Park five stars. Go check it out. read more

Loch Haven Park is 45 acre park situated between lakes Estelle, Rowena, and Formosa. The park started out in 1926 as land for the Loch Haven subdivision but plans for building were cancelled due to the Great Depression. After a failed attempt at starting a permanent fair on the land, the City of Orlando purchased the tax certificate in order to create a park. The land sat empty until 1953 when the park was finally created. All institutions opening in the park were required to be cultural. In 1955 the Garden Club opened followed by the Loch Haven Arts Center and Orlando Science Center in 1960 For years the park had a major road bisecting it and the cultural facilities were outdated. The firm of Frederick Halback redesigned the park by removing the road and separating vehicles from pedestrians. A new grand entrance was put in with a fountain. An 8 acre great lawn was created to stage cultural gatherings and festivals. Loch Haven Park has become the beautiful cultural heart of Orlando. Among the many cultural arts institutions located in Loch Have Park today are the Mennello Museum of American Art, Orlando Fire Museum, Orlando Museum of Art, Orlando Repatory Theater, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Orlando Garden Club, rehearsal studio for the Orlando Ballet, and the Orlando Science Center. For even more culture, the park is home to the Fringe Festival the first two weeks of May every year. During the festival more than 100 music, theater, dance, and magic performances take place. The park contains paths for exercise and it contains many oak trees over a 100 years old including the Mayor which is older than the Constitution. Loch Haven is home to picnics, museums, lakes, sculptures.festivals, and children on field trips. Take a walk through the park and you might be excited by what you discover. read more

I enjoy strolling around the Loch Haven Park admiring the artwork, lakes and occasional visits from wildlife. There are three lakes, museums, two theaters, walking/jogging paths and plenty of parking. Pets are also welcome. They are open daily from 6am to 11 pm. The park host lots of outdoor festivals and activities throughout the year. read more

This is our second time here. The first time was about a month ago for an Indie Fest, and this time was for a nice chill picnic. It was a perfect picnic spot and others thought so as well. Perfect space to spread out and have a nice time enjoying the fresh air with loved ones. The section we sat u see is in back of the Mennello Art Museum. There's ample parking when there's not a fest, and it's quite close to the park. It's dog friendly and there are dog poop bags and a garbage there as well. There are artistic statues and a pretty water view. I love the trees and the shade and the adirondack chairs to sit on as well. People walk, bike, and drive here. It's a great park nearby to different museums in downtown Orlando! read more

I happen to be a big fan of this park for a few reasons but one of the biggest ones being that I got married here in 2014. It was a beautiful location for our wedding and a place we frequent with our children now. The Mayor tree is a sight to see so take your time to visit and enjoy the history you are receiving shade by. I have walked around this entire park a few times now. It has paved sidewalks that weave around between the theaters and science center and over to the Mennello Museum where you can see the outdoor sculptures and a beautiful lake view. One day we took a blanket and sat under a magnolia tree overlooking Lake Formosa. It was very peaceful. We saw lots of turtles swimming the in the lake and red-winged blackbirds chipped around us. This is connected to the dinkey line of the North Orlando Trial. The trial goes over the lake. The sidewalks are large enough that bikes could pass us comfortably as pedestrians. Even with a road near by the park is quiet. read more

Artlando: What a great event featuring many artists in the Central Florida area. This was our first time visiting this park but I love the surroundings of Florida hospital and the Orlando Science and Art Center. The park was easy accessible and there was free parking in the Florida Hospital garage. A short walk and a skip and you're there! Along the walking trail there were several tents of artists featuring their work. I wanted to take several picture but wanted to respect their work and not show on social media. My favorite features were of the black light canvas artwork. The artist painted with acrylics in a straight line abstract picture and then had nails along the rim of the canvas. He used white string which illuminated in the light causing a cool neon affect! Anyway, if you missed it, be on the look out for more festivities during the cooler months. We surely arrived at a later time, on purpose. It's hot out in these streets! read more

Loch Haven is one of my favorite parks to attend events in. It' beautiful and lends itself to hosting events. Centrally located and well taken care of. Loch Haven rests between Orlando Science Center, Orlando Shakes and Orlando Museum of Art. When there is a big event hosted, parking can be a challenge but usually easily found. read more

5 Stars for a park that gives you everything! Museums, Theater, large fields for festivals, smaller secluded sections of picnics, and all accessible easily by bike. My perfect Orlando day includes biking along Mills50 to pick up food and then taking it to a picnic at Loch Haven. You're by the water and shaded by some incredible oak trees- it really is perfection! I'm surprised by how much space is considered Loch Haven (there is literally a road that splits it). This means you can use the different sides of the park for so many purposes. Overall, this is one of my favorite parks in Orlando for ease of arriving (the bike path leads you right by Mennello!) and shear beauty. No wonder people choose to get married here all the time! read more

Looking for the City's premier cultural park? Hit up Orlando Loch Haven Park. This amazing area is home to the OMA, Mennello Museum of American Art, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Orlando Repertory Theatre, Orlando Science Center, Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Orlando Fire Museum and the Orlando Garden Club. Can we say WOW, so many amazing things in one beautiful setting? I get a fuzzy feeling just driving around the block of this place, feels like I am in some fancy northern neighborhood and I love it. Also tons of organizations around town host their annual events place at this lovely location such as the Orlando International Fringe Festival, Target Family Theatre Festival, PlayFest, etc. Majestic oak trees are sprinkled throughout the lawn areas in the center of the Park complimenting the natural beauty the three lakes, Lake Estelle, Lake Rowena, and Lake Formosa deliver to the surroundings. Me and Gatsby, my super cute mini wiener dog, give this park five dog bones on bring Fido! It is not technically a dog park, so you have to keep your puppy on a leash, but there is lots to look at and sniff. One of the coolest parks we've been to in orlando. You can also get onto the urban hiking trail from here! I suggest parking at the Shakespeare's theater. read more

This is one of the most beautiful parks to just come and relax. The view is so beautiful with the water. I love all the shade the mossy trees provide. There's lots of wide open grass so it's perfect for sitting in the lawn chairs provided and reading or writing. You could play fetch with your dog or you can even lay out on a blanket with your loved one. A really quiet, peaceful park. They have also done events here before like the folk fest on Valentine's Day. I love this park!!! read more

One of my favorite areas to go to in orlando. They have the museum of art, theater, menello sculpture museum and the science museum. The science museum's parking is in a garage and you have to pay. The museum of art, theater, and menello museum all have free parking. I love the view from the menello museum, they have Adirondack chairs to lounge in and look out to the beautiful lake. read more

This is a fine park. Good grass. Skies either blue, cloudy, or some-stars-mostly-void. Air. Space in mostly two dimensions. This makes the park good for things like walking, running, sitting, bicycling, throwing objects, chanting, or outdoor eating. It is less good for things like flying, floating, immolation, animal sacrifice, lycanthropy, prayer, or bouncing. It is a grown-up park without a playground as far as I know. It's a fine place. Here's something. For a fun, free, and unique outing on bikes, meet here at 6pm for Critical Mass. This is a big, slow, 3 mile bike ride around town that sometimes draws as many as 200 people. read more

There are so many cool events that go on in this nicely shaded park. The biggest and best I have attended is Orlando Fringe Fest. I also see regular family events on the weekends. Part of Loch Haven is the Orlando Shakespeare and Repertoire Theater, and the Orlando Science Center. The Repertoire Theater is catered more toward children, which I highly recommend taking a child to see one of their many profession plays throughout the year. And the Shakespeare Theater is obviously more adult oriented. (Although not part of Loch Haven, the Theater Downtown is just down the block on Orange and Princeton, to add on to the cultural aspect of the area.) Loch Haven Park is also the meeting place for Critical Mass, which meets here the last Friday of every month for their 6 PM bike ride. You'll see most of my check ins here are for that. People from all over Central Florida, and some visiting from other places, bring their bicycles here, and we all ride as 1 huge group of 100's of cyclists around Orlando, ending back at Loch Haven in about 1-2 hours. For car parking there are lots adjacent to each venue, or also along the street on 17/92 (Mills Ave). And not only can you get here by car, the Dinky Dock trail, for biking, dumps you into it too. read more

I am here just about everyday to take my dog for a walk. Sometimes I will be lucky enough to hear someone playing music in the hidden gazebo next to the water. Other times I am lucky enough to spot an otter frolicking In the water. This park isn't closed so you can go for an early run or a late night stroll to contemplate life. read more

A cultural center as well as a green space, Loch Haven Park has a lot to offer. The Orlando Museum of Art, Mennello, Philharmonic, Rep, Science Center, Shakespeare Theater and more are all anchored here, along with a lot of interesting sculptures. The park plays host to many events, public and private - everything from the Fringe Festival to weddings. The Urban Trail cuts through there, so it's a tempting spot to take a quick break and hang out on the bridge and enjoy the lake view. I also sometimes cross over Princeton on my runs because the winding paths around the Science Center and OMA are also beautiful to run on during the museums' off-hours. read more

Love this Park! I usually go when I attend Critical Mass Orlando on the last Friday of every month, but this park is enjoyable 365 and 24/7. On one side is a beautiful lake and walking path for you and your significant other, while on the other side is nothing but fields of green to either slay a couple picnic, play some moderate sports with friends or family, or just enjoy the City Beautiful. Stopped by his park and ended up going to the science center where my one year old could actually play around in. Not a children's play park. Too many metal statues and grass high enough to get little ones covered in ants. Beautiful trails for cycling. Nice relaxing water views for a stroll with the hubster. read more
