Ambience inside and out!
Sara Beth H.

This was a fantastic detour on my way from Knoxville to Nashville. Beautiful scenery on approach, comfortable inside dining area and a great back patio when the weather is nice. Staff were welcoming and helpful, you order at the counter and wait for your number to come out. Adult beverages in cans, delicious ribs, I especially loved the Cole slaw with a light sweet vinegar base and red peppers. Portions were very share-able. I came by myself this time but plan to bring my family soon!

Such high expectations were had for Warden's Table but, it fell a bit short. The hours listed on the website were not accurate. I came back later when they were supposed to be open--after 11AM--only for them to still not be open. There was even a line waiting. Next, it came across like customers weren't exactly a highlight of the day and made for a bit of a dampened atmosphere. Took most of my food to-go. The food itself was not as I had seen in other reviews. My baked beans and macaroni n' cheese were watery--that was a major disappointment. The pulled pork BBQ was barely warm. I would go back to see if they was just a bad day but I don't think I could do so without reservations.

The smoked bologna sandwich is gigantic in size and taste!! the dining area is set to look like a prison. It was an awesome experience!!

Pork Nachos

Atmosphere was cool, clean. Food fell short, hamburger tasted awful, like it was meatloaf or something, was kind of mushy. Service was okay. Curly fries were good, nachos were just ok.

This was reasonable price and made fresh. The wardens table has a large variety of pulled pork, fresh smoked turkey and salads. Mac n cheese and even a Cuban press. The coleslaw was unique and delicious.

Nachos and brisket sandwich

Great food! The food at the Warden's Table was great and moderately priced. I got the nachos and my husband got the brisket sandwich. The girl at the register didn't seem to be thrilled she was there. I asked what was in the Convict Caviar and she pointed to a had written sign and said, "that", she had clearly been asked that a time or two. The food more than made up for it. We got to sit at a table in a jail cell. The atmosphere there was really cool.

Brushy Mtn. Penitentiary has been closed for many years and is now open as a tourist attraction, restaurant, and moonshine distillery brand named "End of the Line"... Guided tours $26 & general admission tours $16. The Warden's Table restaurant atmosphere and food is unique and worth the visit.

This is at Brushy Mountain Penitentiary in the gift shop. Great choices for food. I had the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese. The sandwich was great. The mac and cheese was ok, would try another side. They do give you a cookie. We also got pork nachos and pork baked potato. The decor inside is great. There was a local dog hanging out and was the calmest dog ever. We would definitely go back when in the area. I was surprised that they serve beer also.

While on the site touring The Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, we decided to experience it all and grab a bite to eat at The Warden's Table. I would call it more cafateria like then restaurant although not really either. Sandwiches, BBQ, and Sides. Sometimes they have Burgers but it's a changing menu and they aren't always an option. The atmosphere is open and unique. You're surrounded by bars to give it that prison feel. I had the Smoked Bologna and Pepper Jack Sandwich with Mac and Cheese. My Wife and Mother in Law went with the Club Sandwich and what looked like Arby's Curly Fries. All meals came with a Watermelon wedge and a Chocolate chip cookie. The food was nothing special but nothing to complain about either. A good option for a bite if you happen to be taking the prison tour. Not a place I would drive to specifically for the food though.

Surprisingly good bbq for a restaurant located in an attraction. Can get busy due to being on a trail from wind rock. Worth a trip!

OVER RATED..... Don't arrive too hungry, you've gotta be ready to stand in a LONG line to get to…read morewhere the food is actually served. While you wait in the line, often much of the food becomes "sold out!" so definitely don't get your heart set on anything special you may want to order. I often want just a baked potato without any meat on it (just a simple baked potato) - but the youngsters running the place can't seem to sell me one without the meat! It's very frustrating honestly. Since I can't get my potato, I just order the mixed berry cobbler, which is outstanding but always fearful that it's not sold out by the time I get to the front of the line. The best thing about Smokin F BBQ is the ambiance of the live entertainment with both inside/outside seating, the longhorn cattle and the petting zoo.

Just have to say this as our friends that took us suggested we bring our boots. You just never know in July in TN! The young man that greeted us was very nice. It cost $2 per person to cover the guy singing and any soft drinks you want to drink. Coca-cola products! Got to love it! Anything else is BYOB. We got in line and figured out what we wanted to order after chatting with the couple in front of us and our friends. The young ladies at the serving "bar" explained the whole process. It's was all so good. Just need to go back to try everything else! One of the owners told my husband he liked his Detroit Red Wing's shirt! I thought they were from Texas but we will welcome more Red Wings fans! Honestly, you can't go wrong with any thing on their menu! Looking forward to our next dinner here!

I was told not to come back. I didn't holler…read more I didn't raise my voice. I was just upset. I removed the tip from my to go order and was told not to come back. I knew it was going to be busy because it was Valentine's Day. So I called at 330 and ordered a pick up for 530. I get there at 525 and was told it would be done in 5 minutes. I live 5 minutes from the restaurant so I understand 5 minutes. Someone else comes in after me for a 530 pick up. Ok, well I ask again if mine is ready. Nope we had a lot of orders come in it will be done soon. So I stand to the side and wait, and wait. After 15 minutes I see 2 boxes sitting in the window and ask, are those mine. No, those aren't yours. So I ask, can I have my money back? Nope they are boxing it up now. One person said we just had someone pass away. I am sorry to hear that and I knew it was going to be busy that's why I called at 330 to order it. And I wait and watch one of the girls, literally take the 2 boxes I asked were mine, put them in a bag with 2 more boxes, turn around and hand them to me. As I was heading to the door one of the girls from behind the counter said, dont come back. Ok, I won't. I used to love coming here, but service has dropped off. From being on hold to place an order so long that I was still on hold when I walked into the restaurant and ordered in the store to what happened today. When I got home I took the prime rib out of the box and it felt cool to the touch. Like I said I live 5 minutes from the restaurant and the temp of the meat was 86 degrees. That was not something that just got boxed up. Don't worry about me gracing your business any longer if this is your treatment of customers.

Restaurant was clean and restrooms were nice also. They don't offer a hamburger steak but my wife…read morerequested one and the cook just gave her a hamburger patty without the bun. She said it was good. I had the Uncle Gus's salad. It had all kinds of meat on it and unfortunately I became sick a few hours later. Some of the meat just didn't taste right so if we do ever go back I will not get that again. Now for the important part. The restaurant wasn't that busy, plenty of empty tables. Our waitress was nothing but rude. She wasn't attentive to us at all but there was some locals and she took good care of them. If we needed a refill we had to get her attention.
