A lot of the places I stop to eat are out of necessity. I was returning from a Jackson Mississippi trip and needed something to hold me over until I got home. I really like Magee, as everyone in the town I've met seems fairly nice. Wards was no exception, the service was fantastic! Now, I only ordered some chili cheese fries, but they treated me like absolute royalty. They cooked everything fresh for me, and it was also pleasant to see how clean the place was. It's always a joy to find a place that is clean. It wasn't that long before they handed me a very generous helping of chili cheese fries, which were fresh, crispy, flavorful, ooey gooey, oniony goodness! The perfect snack! I'll be back for more of this! read more

DO NOT STOP HERE!! We saw billboard for this place on our way to 30A and thought "why not try something local?". Everything about this place was revolting. We should have known this was going to be an epic fail when upon entering we passed 2 employees who were smoking cigarettes right next to the front door. The food was an abomination. I can't imagine anyone going to this place more than once, and once was one time too many. You've been warned! read more

Rude staff. Stopped in to get a burger with the kids. Staff was nowhere to be found when we walked in. We went to bathroom and when I walked out I saw one girl scurry to the back and another ask 'they didn't leave?' So then she rudely took our order and was rude to my son when he asked for condiments. Rating of zero! Do not waste your time or your money! It took over 40 minutes to get my order of two burgers, fries, and drinks. The order had to be sent back more than once because it was incorrect, employees and management were touching food and drinks with bare hands to check for accuracy, wrong change was made when making payment, etc. A complete waste! read more

Worst food ever. Drinks are syrupy. Hamburger had a dry, shriveled up, tiny piece of meat with a stale, hard bun. They had to recook the fries twice because they were still frozen. None of the workers are wearing masks correctly. Touching everything and not one has washed their hands. Going from register to the back to cook fries, coming back up and handling trays and food items. Disgusting!!!! read more

Avoid this place like the plague! Charred burger patties that have set in the warmer for the past week. Worst part is the kids wouldn't even eat the hotdogs! Needless to say, this was the first and last stop ever at Ward's. A really awful experience really. read more

Chili burger add dill pickles is yummy, love the sweet potato fries! Large sweet tea and you're set!

I eat Ward's every so often and I love their root beer. The food here is nothing special because it is fast food and it does have more flavor than the burgers at the place down the street. I have been here and as another reviewer commented there were flies in the place I am sure the chicken houses in the area do not help the situation but I think there has to be a way to keep some of them out. read more

Ok this was bad. The whole restraunt felt just greasey. I should have left then but after driving 4 hours I wanted to let the kids stretch. Then came the quarter pound burger. It looked like a white castle/krystel burger on a full size bun. It was bad. Like really. They covered the burger with mustard and shreaded lettuce I guess to fill the bun. They say they make their own root beer. It is still in the fountain drinks, though. I tasted it. It was a bit sweet, but good. You get frosted mugs for all fountain drinks which is awesome. Our cashier was really good. She explained everything to us (we were first timers). I had the burger which came with chili. It tasted like fast food. It is what it is. It was nice to try somewhere different. We were passing through on the way home. They have some baskets (chicken, shrimp, and I think catfish). The fries were good. Burger was average. There were flies in the place. The paper towel dispenser was on the floor. I assume it had been recently knocked down, but gross none the less. read more

This place does not even deserve a star. My family of five ordered a kids burger with fries, corn dog with fries, fish basket with fries, we were going to order two more burgers, but they were out of meat so we ordered a hot dog and cheese fries, and then went somewhere else for the 5th meal. When your kids say the fries are nasty, that means they are TERRIBLE! The hot dog was made with a RED wiener. We don't even buy those at our house. So we wasted $25 and the 20 minutes while waited on our food. Only positive thing for Wards were the ladies at the window. Will never go back!!! read more

Full of flies, understaffed, cashier could not understand order after several tries poor heart, manager makes root beer float with too much ice cream, proceeds to tell my mother in law and myself to eat the ice cream out of it so she can fit some root beer, patties were thin and not warm. Today me and my boyfriend were headed out of town and we decided to stop in Magee at Ward's (since the closest one to us is here or Pelahatchie) well I ordered a kids chicken strip meal and instead of the kids drink I asked for a large root beer because it is my favorite ever. After repeating it 4 times while ordering we get to the window and my boyfriend reminded the girl the large was a root beer. Well we get everything and get on the road and realize they didn't give us straws, so I open the lid on mine and taste it and it's far from root beer it tasted like Diet Coke and water mixed. Then my boyfriend tasted his and it tasted like coke and water mixed well we pull over at a store and throw those drinks away and just go buy some bottle drinks. Then I open my bag with my meal they gave me half a bag of fries, and ONE burnt chicken strip oh and a hard cookie. My boyfriends burger was cold and tasted disgusting... Very disappointed. Immediately noticed the dirty floors. Tables had not been cleaned. Trash cans were overflowing. Could barely get ketchup out of the dispenser. One worker, who I overheard say was the manager, was more interested in her husband and baby,who were there, than in helping the other workers. Chairs were scattered.
