I had never heard of this spot so I was excited to sample some good burger options. Bull Pen Grill is located in Mize, MS right off the rood at 508 HWY 28 West. This is a small little spot in a rural area that would be very easy to miss if you didn't know it was there so you probably need to put in driving directions in your cell phone to make sure to find this spot. It is a small place and it is very popular with locals so it can fill up fast so you might also want to call ahead to see how crowded it is. The burgers were delicious. Hubs had his Becky burger with jalapeños and tots, I had mine just a regular Becky Burger with fries. The burgers are large (there are doubles and "small" burgers we went with the "regular"). The lady at the window was super helpful, and even though we had to wait 20 min for our burgers (this place is hopping lots of people order ahead and pick up to go) it was worth the wait. One picnic table is the only seating. But these are not burgers you can eat while Driving. So we parked facing away from the sun and opened our windows and enjoyed the burgers. I definitely recommend making the not too long of a jog off the highway!

It is now my favourite way to eat cornbread with turnip greens. The green beans were still green with a slight crunch, not the most southern way to cook green beans, however, it is definitely my preferred. It was a little sweeter than I liked, but still delicious. Now for the mainstay, the hamburger steak. It was flavourful, and still had a great taste of beef.
