She was immediately examined and once that was completed, Dr. Barrett came in to speak to us. Indeed, as I had surmised, it was a stroke. We were given instructions and what to look for in complete and calm, and helpful detail by Dr. Barrett. It was so reassuring to get such immediate, competent, help. Over a year ago, Suki suffered an incident of Syncope due to a serious heart murmur. We took her to the emergency clinic in Weymouth. We ended up waiting for over 4 hours and had charges greater than one thousand dollars. In the case of the Veterinary Urgent Care Center, the cost was reasonable, the staff wonderful (all of them) and we are eternally grateful to ALL the staff at Animal Urgent Care in Plymouth.

" We will put you on a waiting list and maybe something will open up" I was told. I guess none of the 8-10 vets on staff at my old Vet could make the time to fit in a 15 year customer. A friend recommended the Veterinary Urgent Care Center in PLymouth. They were great. They took us in right away, ran a diagnosis, hydrated the dog, and gave us medication and a follow up plan. The staff, including the reception and of course the Vet, could not have been any more helpful, friendly and professional. Dog is doing great, I highly recommend VUCC.

I'll get into this later, when I speak to a vet; however, I've called them 11 times, left messages etc. but a vet has not returned my calls. There is plenty more to say but I'd rather not discuss it until they respond or when I have to make assumptions. Needless to say, I'd stay away from them.

I figured it might be a UTI and called and got an appointment. (Note: today is a Federal holday.) Around 45 minutes before the appt I started trying to coax her into the carrier. It did not go well. Nice soft blankie, canned food, favorite treats - no way. Big stress. Cat not happy. Called and cancelled, only 15 mins before the appt. They were so nice. Made soothing sounds, I apologized, they said "don't worry". On to plan B. Cat must learn to go into carrier. Going to feed once a day in carrier, the other time at feeding station. See how long it takes for her to get accustomed to the thing.

This was not easy since she was booked and would not be available, but she put the patient first and made room where there was none to be had (I suspect she might have given up her precious little personal time she had that day). Additionally, she made sure that I knew as much as possible for making the decision and for how things would proceed. She comforted and respected my kitty and I, and gave us all the time we needed. Lastly, Dr. Ross fully handled the after care and only involved me ahead of time so that I need not struggle with administrative tasks in my grief. I cannot properly express the gratitude I feel for having found my way to this very kind and competent steward at the most painful and vulnerable time of my life. She is truly an angel.

Everyone you encounter is always so friendly, they get you in fast at your appointment time, and the vet is very thorough and informative! They send plenty of reminders when it's time for a visit or vaccines. In the end the prices aren't the worst I've seen either. They even offer complimentary nail trims on visits which is super helpful as our cats aren't a fan. This will definitely be our life long vet!
