My dog had a great vacation. I did a pre-check and everything was very clean and quiet too. They gave my dog medicine and took great care of him. He had an outside run all to himself. IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG DO NOT LEAVE IT HERE! We brought our Labs to stay for four days. We reserved a "special" extra large premium area so they could be together along with their own bedding and toys. We got home a day early and stopped in to pick them up. They told us to wait out front while they got them but I followed them in anxious to see my "babies" They were in small individual cages well apart from each other, wet, and no bedding or toys. To top it all off, these people had the audacity to try and charge us full price saying that they had only been moved temporarily while their original place was being cleaned. Problem was, I passed by their enclosure I had rented and reserved and there were other dogs in there. Next trip we brought our dogs to Cape Veterinary in Yarmouth. Beautiful place, clean and they took wonderful care of our pets. read more

Love this place, will be back again! I met the owners, Don and Patti and they are the sweetest, most genuine people. I was here on vacation for the week, but wanted to go up to Boston for a few days so I found this resort close by. They have a great play area for the dogs, and you can watch on video to check in on them. When I picked up Charlie my doodle, he was not only clean and freshly bathed but he was worn out from all the playing and fun he had. If you need a good pet resort this is your spot! read more

Very dirty facility, no group play unless you pay extra for it, no taking your dog out to pee on grass unless you pay extra for it...no, my dog doesn't to pee and shit on concrete because he was trained to pee on grass like 90% of other dogs. Poor setup, way too expensive for what your dog gets. Will never take my dog back here. read more

I have had interactions with several dog day cares and this one is the best of them all. The owners are very kind and loving and this carries over to the way the dogs are treated. The dogs get lots of exercise and time outside while being closely supervised. I would highly recommend them for anyone! read more

If your dog is used to being walked on a leash to do his business, you may want to reconsider staying here... My dog stayed here 3 times but we will be using a different place from now on. Each time it was apparent that he did not do his business during his stay. We informed the staff each time that he did not know how to use to doggie door and would need reinforcement, but that did not appear to happen. We were told that if we wanted to make sure he was going outside that we would have to pay for extra play time! On his last stay this past weekend, I don't believe he was fed. The dry food we supplied came back completely full, and we supplied two cans of food and returned with one; he was there for 3 nights! We have stayed at other resort style kennels that had no problem assisting him with the doggie door, and we will be using those places from now on. read more

I recently used the Cape Cod Pet Resort for the first time. My pup stayed overnight for 5 days and also participated in the day care where he was able to run and play with all the other dogs there. I was able to view him on camera whenever I wanted which was awesome. Every time I checked in on him he was jumping around and having a blast. He was exhausted when I picked him up and so happy. Every time we drive by now he jumps up and looks out the window with his tail wagging. HE LOVED IT!! Another positive is that there is a huge consistent group of the same dogs so your dog will make friends and be able to play with them whenever you drop them there. I highly recommend this place, they have a great staff who is very friendly and caring. My dog loved them! read more

Great solution for my dogs and I! They used to spend too much time at home while I was at work for long days. I'd get home and walk them which was not nearly enough exercise for them. I felt so awful leaving them knowing they deserved more. So now when they go to the Pet Resort for the day, they come home and settle down and are, more or less, ready to relax and go to bed! This routine actually saves me time at the end of the day and my dogs seem thrilled to go to school every (most) day! Thanks! read more

Ask for Candace!! Back in March 2020 I dropped my dog Phil off for a 6 night stay for the first time since he had been abused by a trained in October 2019. This was the first time dropping him anywhere after rehabbing him for months, I was a disaster on drop off. He was pulling me all over, I was stressed to the max and Candace came the rescue! She sat right next to the room we had managed to get Phil in, I warned against it as I wasn't sure how he was going to do... Phil took to candace immediately!!! Not only did she ease my mind that day, she sent me videos and pictures of Phil multiple times a day the entire time he was there. She bought him toys and treats, in fact Phil just brought me one of his toys today he found that Candace had bought him. She saved my sanity while I was away and Phil was absolutely in love with her!! The facility itself is fine, but if you want an amazing experience ask for Candace on drop off. It was a blessing to know Phil was having fun and someone was making sooo much extra effort to play with him. read more

They lost his seresto collar. They would not return my calls or refund my collar. I will never use them again!!! Terrible business and they cost me more money than just boarding. Very mixed feelings. I liked the A/C and the socialization play time for our beloved lab. Inside and outside play areas depending on the weather. But, as others have said, Making sure the dog did potty even with extra walk time was an issue. And yes, our dog drank 2 buckets of water as soon as he walked in the door at home...concerning. Dehydrated. And we also had unused food returned so he was NOT fed at lease 2 times. The most bothersome thing to me was watching the Pet Handler "ignore" my pet repeatedly on video when he came over to her to say hello during open play which we paid for. No pat, no petting, and just walked away...Over and over, over again. He is a pleaser dog, a simple pat on head of reassurance, would of allowed him to relax and go off and play. Then when we picked him up, his paws were raw and did not want to walk on them. Was pretty mad no one picked up on this - isn't there a vet as the owner? Idk. I believe the rock area outside and running on them took there toll on his feet. Best guess. I think they love the talk, love to take your money --- but I really don't think they care about the animals in there care. I hate to say that about a business, but the no feed, dehydration, raw feet, and bulk potty x4 at home does not add up to attentive, caring behavior. Maybe for a night? We have used Cape Cod Pet Resort many times over the past 5 years. We have 3 dogs and we really have appreciated the options that they have for boarding and convenient location. Usually all 3 dogs are able to stay together in a large luxury kennel which has a couch and a bed. However, the last time we boarded them those rooms were booked and they stayed in 2 smaller kennels. We were gone for one night and essentially ended up paying $188 for 20 hours. They have a pick up time of 11 AM, and because we were two hours late for meeting that deadline we were charged for the second night. In hindsight, I could have called the owners and probably would have been able to resolve this, but the response I received from the employee at the desk did nothing to make me feel better about the cost or as though I would have any other options. read more

This was our first visit to the pet resort...they have very kind, knowledgeable staff who asked lots of questions about how to care for my little dog; his age, any issues like food aggression (no), grooming after?(yes) separation anxiety (yes) and how much and how often to feed him... They let him have a coat and his fave play toy with him, and when we picked him up we got a full report on how well he did, how he responded to staff, etc! He wasn't mad at me like he has been, after boarding in the past, so it's all good! One happy, tired dog and one very pleased owner! Prices are reasonable as well, with lots of play and treat options for their guests...A+! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would! After reading a couple negative reviews before Henry's first stay there in August, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Henry stayed Thursday -Sunday evening in August and we got to watch him each day on the webcam where he was well cared for and seemed super happy when we picked him up. This past weekend we had Henry stay saturday and due to limited hours with COVID was told he could only be picked up between 4pm and 6pm Sunday. My husband and I were there waiting at 3:45 to get him. I watched him on the webcam all day where he laid in the stuffing from his duck we gave him and his food was all over the kennel and never once did anyone come to check on him Sunday. His duck had been destroyed Saturday and should have been taken away then, rather than giving it back with stuffing coming out that he could have choked on. I asked for the same amenities he had as last time and he did not get them, not even the exit bath. They charged us for a full extra day even though this was the time frame we were given and he absolutely stinks like feces. I called back this morning to complain and ask for a refund from the extra day charge and the lady kept me on hold for almost 7 minutes and when she came back on the phone told me she can give me back the $47 for the extra stay but can't offer a refund just a credit for him to stay again, which I can assure you, he will not be back. I asked for a manager which she said she was, so then I asked for an owner which she was the owner too, apparently she is the jack of all trades. It's not about the money at all, it's the simple fact that he wasn't cared for at all, it didn't even look like the dog door was open all day for him to go outside, he peed for almost 2 minutes when we got him home, and he was so anxious in the car on the way home which was not like him at all. Had I known we could pick him up sooner we would have because I felt so awful seeing him all day in a mess. Their website states they have limited hours due to "covid" yet no one in the facility wears a mask, not even when they open the locked door for you. Long story short, DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE. read more

Let's just say..what we were "told" when we booked and arrived was far from how our dogs were treated. We booked a VIP room with a camera to watch our dogs while we traveled ($10 fee per day for live camera). 1. At 7pm it is pitch dark in the room and you are unable to see anything. 2. We were told the dogs would have plenty of time outside / play time, etc. It seemed as though, every time we looked at the video, they were in the room with the door closed to outside. 3. We watched their dog bowls and water during the week, our dogs graze, we did not seem to see food in it at all times, never mind water. 4. We sent the dogs with blankets and "supposedly" they ate them, interesting. Our pups have never chewed anything and they never came home with them either. 5. We were supposed to pick up our dogs on Sunday, we received a text on Saturday afternoon as we are getting on the plane (after 2 pm) that we cannot pick them up and would need to wait an additional day. We sent a text, if we could pick them up that night. No response! 6. Left a message on an employee's personal cell phone who told us, she would meet us to pick up the pups and no response. 7. We called to find out the following day if they were ready to be picked up (bathed and nails clipped) and I was told, they only had one with that service request (WHY on earth would be only request one?!?) 8. Went to pick up the pups and we were then told, they were not able to give them a bath because of a fear of them biting someone. Interesting...we bring our pups to be groomed quite often and NEVER once has anyone had a problem with them. 9. We were charged $250 more than initially quoted however, the dogs never had a bath and we were told, one of them ate a decrepit 1/2 chewed, toddler bed so, we had to pay for it..maybe $250 isn't a lot considering we paid almost $1350.00 but, the fact we were quoted $1100 and no baths..must of been a "special dog" bed.. #10..I have requested a copy of an itemized bill twice and I was told, they would email it right over..glad I didn't hold my breath because I am still waiting.. Bottom line..we have never boarded our dogs before and were told, "they would treat them like their own", we had thought it would be the best place to take them when we found out the owner was a retired vet and had a comfort zone knowing that however, it is unfortunate, we were wrong and it's all about the do-re-mi $. We were in tears after seeing how them were treated and handled or should we say lack of..NEVER AGAIN! read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I used to send my 9 month old dog to Cape Cod Pet Resort daily, which left me spending $145.00 per week here, before adding on any extras. I also used them as my dog's primary groomer because he is timid and I figured a familiar location would help ease his anxiety. That was about 90$ per grooming, before the extra 29$ if I wanted to have him in daycare for the rest of the day rather than in a crate. Basically, I was spending a lot of money supporting this company. Two weeks ago, I made an appointment for my dog to be groomed at 8am. At 7:45, 5 minutes away from Cape Cod Pet Resort, I get a call that they're going to have to cancel his grooming because the groomer called out. So now, I have to bring him to daycare to avoid being late to work, and he doesn't get his grooming. After a week passes, I try to reschedule his grooming appointment. They make the appointment for 7:45, I drop him off at 7:30, and at 9 am the groomers calls me at work to tell me she won't be in again and called the resort at 6am, and is unsure why they wouldn't have contact me or told me when I dropped him off...why I got there before the groomer did, or they didn't have the courtesy to tell me as I dropped him off is beyond me. I then had to call another groomer in town and make him a last minute appointment because he was 2 weeks overdue. I sent my dad to get him, who was equally as frustrated with the situation as I was. There were two people in front of him in line making small talk, and we needed to get our dog to the new appointment. He said "can we move this along, I have an appointment to get to and this is unexpected". They took his money because we now had to pay for a day of daycare, and didn't say anything else. Now two weeks later I brought him in for daycare today, and they tell me that since my father was "rude" they are no longer going to take my dog. I AM ALREADY HERE. THEY DID NOT CALL ME, EMAIL ME, NOR SAY ANYTHING AT THE TIME OF THE ISSUE. You own a business and after cancelling and inconveniencing a customer on 3 different occasions, you're mad that they were upset and gave you feedback?? I'm sorry but that is no way to run a business. The customer service at this place is a joke, my dog would come home filthy every day, severely thirsty, and they let them pee and poop inside so if you have a dog younger than 3 any potty training goes out the window. If my work banned customers every time they were rude or upset with our services and told us, we would be out of a business. Get some tougher skin, and learn the meaning of customer service. This is a business run by people who liked dogs and want to make a living out of it, but they obviously need more training in the business aspect. Save yourself the money and hire a dog walker. Its cheaper and I can guarantee you the walker will have more people skills than this company. read more

I left my golden there for one night. When I picked him up next day it took them quite a while to bring him out. His coat was somewhat wet to the touch and warm in other places. No question they had him in a pen on the cement which was wet. Not a bad place but be careful and ask questions. Personaly I will not bring my dog back there. read more

I've had my little dachshund RoyRoy stay here 3 times now. The first time for 1 night, the 2nd time for 2 nights, and this last time for 4 nights. I recently moved off-Cape but still brought him back to stay because I felt it was better for him to be in a place he was familiar with and I like the people. Everyone seems very caring of the dogs. This time, I received a text message and photo of RoyRoy with an update, which was very nice to get. I picked him up yesterday and today they texted me to see how he was doing. It's worth the extra driving for me to bring him to a place I can trust. read more

I would leave a 0 for the review if possible for both the service to my dog and the customer service! We picked our dog up today from what was supposed to be Friday to Sunday boarding and day care. Come to find out they had a miscommunication between their staff and they did not put him in day care during the days...so my dog was in his kennel from Friday to Sunday with no daycare!!! We called on Friday because I did not see my dog on the "play cam" and the woman lied to us and said "Your dog is adjusting great with the other dogs and he's probably just in the corner where you can't see him." After we picked him up today a gentlemen called us to explain what happened and what seemed like a back handed apology. He said they tried him in daycare but he didn't socialize so they put him back in his kennel and that we need to learn how to socialize our dog more before bringing him to daycare. Okay well, A) where was our phone call to explain that? Because I would have picked him up Friday if he wasn't adjusting but instead they just lock him up B) I also know that is not true because he goes to day care 3 days a week back home and we live with another dog and C) why did the women on Friday lie to us then and say he was outside playing and doing great? The staff has no idea what is going on and it was completely obvious. Also, when he picked him up the guy had to come out and say "will you come back with me to get him cause he's to scared to come with me" well obviously because you left him in his kennel all weekend!!!!! we have our dog home with us now and he won't stop pooping, which shows he wasn't outside of his kennel to go to the bathroom properly. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with this business. I will never board my dog there again and it's awful because we were boarding him there this weekend because we got married so it put a horrible end to such a great weekend. I am warning people for using this boarding service for your pets, find a different one!!! I will be letting all my pet friends know. read more

OMG - I thought it was just me, unhappy with this establishment. My dog came home from day service repeatedly thirsty, I thought she was sick and brought her to vet and was told she was dehydrated - every day she came home and ran for her water dish. Every visit she came home so dirty she required a bath almost nightly. Yes, the groomer is unreliable and VERY expensive charging so much more than other groomers - and the resort would charge me for a full day when half day was spent grooming my baby. I witnessed twice, while waiting, pet owners picking up boarded dogs and were overcharged, and when questioned bill and details price was lowered - how many paid and left !!! There were always lots of people behind counter but nobody helping anybody - usually one person -making me wait for longer than normal periods. I left the place and always thought maybe I was overly critical. I guess not. I always felt that there was an air of arrogance by the ownership. I would most definietly recommend the cape cod pet resort. The staff was very accomidating and friendly. I walked my dog back to set up his kennel and it seemed very clean and organized. All the dogs seemed very happy, as if they didn't mind being there, which eased my mind since it was the first time we left our dog anywhere. When we picked him up he was so happy to see us and they had given him a free bath for being there for an extended time. The staff really seems to care about all the pets needs there and it made me feel good that my dog was in such good hands while I was away. I would recommend taking a look at the pet resort next time you go away and want to leave your pet at a boarding facility! read more

We used this place several times while living on the Cape. Some visits were short (2-3 days) and a few visits were longer (1-2 weeks). Overall, we became concerned and stopped taking our dog here. If we planned a pick up, our dog would come out to greet us smelling of extreme perfume. It was as if she was sprayed to smell good. Even though we gave them her bed and specifically asked for a cot off the floor, her blanket and bed were never with her when we picked her up. They were not given to her or washed right before we got there. On more than one occasion, we picked our dog up early or unexpectedly. This is where we had serious doubts. Our dog's blanket and bed were wet with urine stench and she was dirty and smelled. She is supposedly sheltered from the water and it truly appeared as though she was spending considerable time in her own urine. Our dog was a very well trained dog and would NEVER urinate on her space unless she had no choice. Finally, the last time we took her there, we literally needed to almost drag her in. She wanted no part of this place and when we picked her up the last couple of times, she was not herself. It was as if she was sad and withdrawn. I would not take my dog here for any longer than an overnight if you had to. read more

Overall, I thought the Cape Cod Pet Resort was easy to work with, the owner and staff were friendly, and the location was convenient to where we were vacationing. The pictures and description on the website for a standard luxury suite (cheapest they offer) imply that your dog(s) will have continual access to the outside. However, when we got there all those doors were closed -- for A/C, which I understand -- but that meant my dogs would have to rely on the staff to let them out to relieve themselves. We picked them up for an afternoon adventure, and once my dogs hit the outside they couldn't wait to do their business...I just had a gut feeling that the "pee and poo" rounds were infrequent. Also, when we picked them up to go home, a staff member handed me a bag with our doggy blankets and said that one of my dogs soiled them. I know my dogs well enough to know that it would take A LOT for them to soil the blankets they sleep on. So...that was my biggest concern. They also both drank water like they had never seen it when we picked them up. I realize it's difficult to run a dog boarding business, especially if you're short-staffed (they didn't appear to be) and you have numerous dogs to contend with...I also recognize that I'm naturally skeptical of others taking care of my dogs because no one will do it as well as you do. BUT, my instinct is that careful attention was not given to my dogs' primary needs and this doesn't settle well with me. read more
