Before I go to any doctor I write down all my signs and symptoms on a piece of paper so I can go over how I'm feeling and also so I won't forget anything that I need to share with my physician. Dr. Robert McGowen is intentive to listening to all my needs and concerns. He has referred me out to other specialty doctors that specialize in cases that he's not specially affiliated with. He has sent me to a fantastic ear, nose and throat doctor in Boston that did surgery on me and I "thank" him for referring me. Dr. McGowen refers me to doctors that he himself goes to. He's upfront, honest and sincere in his conversations with me and I like that. He's quick to fill my needed prescriptions on a timely manner and his office staff is intentive to my needs. I utilize the "mychart" website and I find it very useful to email him and my other doctors that are affiliated with South Coast. I email my concerns and even make appointments. MyChart gives me my lab results, radiology reports, visit summary, appointment reminders, and other helpful and useful information. I have a woman named Lucy that calls me monthly from his office to check up on me to see if I need anything and she is amazing. She's very helpful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. If I need anything she forwards it over to his office for a response. South Coast Physicians Group in Wareham, MA has come along way since 5 years ago and I'm proud to say that I'm grateful and thankful for all of them that work there. I realize this is not going to be a normal yelp review, seeing that many people do not review their OBGYN, but I am over 30min. early, and I like this OBGYN office and think they deserve a 5-star review! I don't know how long Dr. Gregory Chu has been practicing, but it's been over 26 years (because he delivered me and that is how old I am). My mom and sisters all see him. I probably would not have chosen to see a male OBGYN if my mom had not highly recommended him. Dr. Chu is friendly, and makes annual appointments quick and painless. This is not something people look forward to, but I think this is as good as it gets lol. Just a note, the office is small and not super Modern, but do not let that fool you. I got lost finding the office the first time I came here, so anyone new will probably do the same thing. You do not need a big fancy place to hold this profession... Just a good Doctor, and Dr. Gregory Chu is. I drive two hours (once a year) to keep him my Doctor.

I arrived around 8 p.m. with hidradenitis suppurativa and a golf-ball-sized abscess on my inner labia. The pain was unbearable. When my vitals were taken, my blood pressure was 162/128, and even though I could barely sit or walk, I was sent back to the waiting room. I sat for over two hours with no care or concern. With all respect to other patients, it was clear my condition was severe, yet two people who arrived after me were taken first. While waiting, the abscess burst -- blood and pus soaked through my pants. I went to the front desk, and only then did a nurse come out with an attitude, take me to a room, and leave without asking if I needed anything. Another hour passed with no one checking on me. My sister pressed the nurse button after seeing the bed drenched and me crying in pain. A CNA came, told the nurses, and they ignored him. I was so upset I took off my bracelet and left. No one cared. No empathy, no respect, no effort to help. I may have state insurance, but I still deserve to be treated with dignity. I work hard, I provide for my family, and I rarely complain -- but this was unacceptable. Tobey Hospital should be ashamed. No patient should ever be treated this way. We all deserve compassion, respect, and humane care -- regardless of background or insurance.

I first visited the Fairhaven office and the comfortable waiting room with a good amount of patients told me that things were running smoothly. The 2 ladies working the front desk were efficient and personable and I think I actually got in to see Dr Crowe a few minutes before my scheduled time. He is polite and friendly and he diagnosed a chronic foot pain as a side effect of Prednisone that I had just finished taking for another issue. He checked my foot and prescribed a medication that would take approximately 2 weeks to clear things up and he was 100% right. My follow-up visit to the Wareham office was exactly the same and I got in and out efficiently. Great work Dr Crowe!!
