I had previously asked a coworker I work with whom plays the game to finger through them and give me some advice. He let me know that while I had several rarer cards, that the bulk of them were "common manna" and not worth much. After the middle-aged man with a ponytail went through them, he offered me a measly $10, saying I didn't have anything special & that the cards I did have would sit for months on end prior to being purchased. I accepted their offer and went on my way. Fast forward to this morning, I again spoke to my coworker & let him know what I had gotten out of the "deal". He was absolutely shocked to hear they had low-balled me like they did, and he indicated to me that the Secret Door would certainly be making a killing off of my collection. I should have known better, because they offered my young daughter two free packs of MtG cards before we left. Looking back, I feel that was their was of feeling better about themselves for ripping me off. Shame shame shame. Should've just sold on Ebay!!

I don't think he was aware of the existence of Hobby Lobby at the time, so he made the much farther 45 minute trek to Goshen to MCH. Hubby said the store was slightly dirty but the person working polite. He said they had a decent selection, so he purchased 2 model rockets: Big Bertha & Starship Octavius. After finishing assembly, the kids decided they wanted to choose different paint colors for their rockets as well as pick out their next project (building model cars). Needing to go to Mishawaka, we went to Hobby Lobby (HL) this time. Of course their selection is massive, and there were a lot of things hubby saw there that he also saw at MCH. His excitement quickly turned into frustration when he realized that a lot of the same products he had purchased at MCH were almost double that the price of HL. He paid $16 for a rocket (Starship Octavius) at MCH & the same one was at HL for $9.99. He found this to be the case with most every aspect of the project. Talk about disappointing! He vowed to only do his hobby affairs with HL moving forward. Very sad, because we always want to support small businesses.. but gouging the prices in such a way is what makes folks turn their backs on these small mom & pop shops, and steer more towards the big box stores.

Since going through a spiritual awakening I definitely visit the metaphysical side of the store every time! That being said The shop has everything and they add daily to their inventory. The owners and staff are extremely kind and welcoming, the energy is beautiful there. My brain even gets to buzz while shop being around the crystals. The staff is helpful with assisting and answering any questions you may have. I feel like every visit there is something new to discover and everything is fairly priced. As you become a "frequent flyer" there you definitely build relationships which leads to communities which I personally Value. I love the 5 for a dollar section that allows me to get some retail therapy while spending next to nothing. I listen to a variety of music including lots of oldies. I also like rain tracks or classical to help me sleep, so I always find something. I think they probably dislike me since I only shop the "Super Clearance Section" but 'oh well, I'm having fun'. They mostly had tools and items I personal didn't need but I did see a small dvd rack while I waited on my husband. He had wanted to come in here because he had seen them featured on a pawn show. They have a 2nd location in South Bend but I have only been to this location so far. The person manning the counter was friendly enough but not much for chit chat. The only thing in here besides the dvds I wanted was the violin I saw. There were 2 and my husband and I were debating if one was a viola but we never found out because the lady just smiled at us. Might come back but we'll probably check out the other location before coming back to this one.
