Unfortunately, I have to leave a rude review for this shop. After spending an absurd amount to get my ears pierced and get smaller, new backs put into place, my earring closed up within my earlobe. Out of only concern for money, they were going to force me to pay to fix a mistake that THEY made. Apparently when I had my smaller backs put into place I was supposed to be given my older, longer backs to keep (that I paid for!) However, these were taken from me!! When my complications arose and I need the larger piece back, I was going to be forced to purchase new ones after THEY TOOK my old ones! They do not care about their clients! They only want your money! Go anywhere else for tattoos and piercings! read more

Never even got the tattoo as I was turned off by the rude behavior of the employees. They have had a 'could care less' attitude on both occasions I've been there with different people. Certainly don't need to spend my hard earned money when the employees don't act like they need or want the business. read more

I went to Warlock's based on a friend's recommendation because I wanted to get my ears pierced. I had a second hole in on ear that had closed up over the years. I didn't want to go to the mall and have someone who was inexperienced do the piercing. First impression....very impressed with the cleanliness! Nothing like the dirty tattoo/piercing shops in the movies. I was expecting to have to make an appointment but Sabrina took me right in. We discussed what I wants to do and she did a great job. I'm really happy with the work. I was very pleased with the attention to sterilization. I highly doubt that would have been the case at the mall. read more

My husband wanted to get a simple tattoo done after his shift at work, so while he was working he asked me to call ahead and see if we could book an appointment. I called and asked about how long it would take just to get an idea and they said an hour and the earliest they could book us was 7pm. Since I was just checking for how long the tattoo would take and specifics on price, I said I'd call back in a little while. When I called back, I mentioned my husband didn't get off work until 7:30, but we could make the appointment right afterward. The lady on the phone responded rudely and said, "didn't you just call?" to which I responded yes, but I had to confirm the time with my husband first. Then I asked my husband if he could get off earlier and call them to finalize the appointment. Since he was able to get off work early, he called and whoever answered was very rude and responded l, "yea you guys called 2 times and we said we couldn't do that"... For one, they close at 9pm and my husband was going to leave work early in order to make an appointment at 7pm, and second, they acted like we were inconveniencing them when we were trying to get an appointment. Because of their rudeness and impatience, we are taking our business elsewhere. read more

I absolutely LOVE warlocks. I've gotten 8 of my 11 tattoos done here. My first was done in 2002, my most recent is in the process of being completed. I've been tattoo'd by Mike Hayley, Richard LaBrosse, Ernie, and one other artist whose name escapes me at the moment. Mike is my absolute favorite. He's very honest about what will look nice in terms of placement, color and style. He well tell you if what you are asking for is ridiculous and make suggestions on what will be better after its healed and I promise you'll be happier in the end of you take his advice. He knows my skin and how much work can get done before I need to give it some healing time. (My usual is 3hr sessions every 2-3 weeks while working on my coverups) Mark did my VCH, and a prior piercer (can't remember her name) did my Nipples, tongue and navel piercings. Alex at the front desk is an absolute sweetheart. Feels good to walk in and someone greet you by name. Byron is hilarious. If he's not tattooing he's walking around the shop peeking in our at the front desk greeting people himself. I love how clean everything is. I can call with questions, or send a quick fb message and get a timely and accurate response. Good tattoos aren't cheap and the artwork I wear everyday is worth every single cent I have and will spend in this shop. As long as Warlocks is open I'll never go anywhere else. read more

Going there was fine. Price was fine. Service was great. However, they never told me to go get Aquaphor or an ointment for my tattoo. They just told me to wash it and put unscented lotion on it for at least 2 weeks. The lotion alone is not the best way to heal a new tatt, a friend with multiple tattoos told me this. I am so glad we got steered in their direction! We're new to Raleigh and had been going back and forth to Columbus instead of finding a new local shop. I wasn't impressed with the shop yelp suggested but a kind stranger told me to look up Warlocks. We loved it. There's a strict no cell phone policy throughout the shop and it made it seem so much more professional and focused. The artist was ON TIME for the appointment (new for me), had the stencils ready to go (new for me), and kept us entertained and feeling welcome the whole time. I'm so glad we came here! I went in to get some jewellery changed for piercings that I had done elsewhere. One of them was acting up, and I'd heard that this studio carried Anatometal jewellery, so I went over. It was relatively easy to find. I was greeted by the piercer, Mark as I came through the door. He was very patient and understanding about the issues that I was having and offered his advice on dealing with them. I wound up replacing most of my jewellery on the spot- 7 pieces to be exact. Mark was very helpful in selecting the jewellery and patient with my indecisiveness. I had three piercings stretched as well, under his advisement. All three were in delicate areas- one being a relatively rare female genital piercing in an *extremely* delicate area (triangle). The stretches were minimally uncomfortable, given that they were in highly sensitive areas. Having had one stretched elsewhere before, I think the minimal discomfort I felt is a testament to his ability. I was beyond impressed with the cleanliness of the studio and the attention to sterile technique (and I'm a biomedical scientist, so I do know a thing or two about proper sterile technique). He even changed his gloves before a stretch, because I'd accidentally touched one. All of the jewellery was autoclaved and a test strip, which I was asked to sign, included in the batch. Overall, a great experience. Fantastic high-quality jewellery selection. I found Mark to be personable, knowledgeable and efficient. I do believe that he is an APP member. I spent just under $400, so a bit on the expensive side- but hey, Anatometal is expensive wherever you look. Were I to get pierced again, I would definitely go back here.* *As opposed to Blue Flame, which caused me some reservation. The piercer I spoke to misunderstood my query about changing jewellery in the triangle piercing to mean that I wanted to *get* the piercing done. She had never performed the piercing before, but said she thought that another person at the studio had done one before...and that they could try to do it. This over the phone, without having examined my anatomy yet. Huge, huge red flags. The triangle is a very advanced piercing that could cause severe damage if done incorrectly. No way should they have entertained the thought of doing it. read more

I've been to Warlocks three times now. Rich as done a great job fixing and reinventing old tattoos for me. He listens to what you want and then puts it all together with what you have to make it so much better. I'm sure it's easier to start with a fresh canvas, but I had old tattoos that needed updating and he was able to accomplish that. I just started a new job where I make enough to have a small amount to spend. I was really excited about getting a new nose stud as I have had the same one it was pierced with for 5 years. I walk into the shop a bit confused as I did not see anyone on the piercing side. It is only about 6 PM. I inquire and am told "She isn't here". Confused and having no idea who "she" is I say I do not need anything pierced just to by jewelry. I am again told he can even unlock the case and "she" would be back between 12-9PM tomorrow. My response was I would not be. There was absolutely no indication on the door or site that piercing had separate individualized hours. I also do not understand why someone felt the need to be so passively gruff as though it was a bother to the person answering my question. Additionally the reason I was looking at getting my jewelry from there in the first place was that my boyfriend and I were looking to get separate tattoos done for Valentines day (Not couples tattoos). I have no idea who "she" is why a business doesn't post changes in hours or why you would speak to a confused customer in a rude manner but I will not be going back. read more

I've gone here for 2 of my piercings. The male piercer is amazing. I'm not sure his name, but he has some amazing face piercings! He was super kind and understand and explained everything to me. He made me feel comfortable, let me know everything he was doing, and had me double check that i liked where i put the piercing. He was very patient and kind the entire time. 10/10 would go there again, ONLY if he was the piercer. There is another lady piercer (red head), if you see her RUN. She's extremely rude. I brought my sister there to get her ears pierced and she was so rude about it. She rushed everything, almost pierced her ears completely uneven until i had her fix it. She had a sarcastic attitude the whole time like being nice and having good customer service was the HARDEST thing for her. I recently talked to a few friends and found i'm not the only one that thinks this!! 3 people said she was extremely rude and didn't pierce them correctly and they are never going back to Warlock's because of it. The male piercer needs to be promoted, the chick needs to be fired or retrained or taught some customer service manners. read more

I went on Friday to get a tattoo of my dog's paw print. My dog was very special to me and I wouldn't just let anyone do the tattoo. I was very picky about it being perfect and matching his paw exactly. Al Breezy listened to what I wanted, understood what I was trying to achieve and went about giving me the look I wanted. I never flinched - it was absolutely painless (or maybe I just enjoy pain, who knows?) I am thrilled at the work he did and will be going back to him to do a coverup of a 20 + year old tattoo. My friend that was with me and got her nose pierced and was so satisfied, she is thinking about getting another piercing!!! The staff was so friendly - I really enjoyed talking to them and felt right at home. The price of the tattoo was very reasonable. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR A PIERCING. I was only in this place for about 5 minutes and it was just outrageous. I came in for a consultation about an ear scapelling and the piercer was just very rude. He treated me like a kid who's just doing this for fun. Then when I said I had to downsize because my lobe developed a cyst, he tried telling me it was from a previous piercing. If he didn't CONSTANTLY cut me off, he could have let me finish and say that the cyst disappeared. I traveled 3 hours because I heard this was the best place to go. This "professional" can't even tell the difference between a cyst and scar tissue. On an upside, my girlfriend talked to two of the artists (don't know their names) about wanting a future tattoo, and they were more than polite to the both of us. So if you want a tattoo, hopefully they'll treat you as nice as they did us. If you want any kind of piercing, you'd do a lot better going to someone who will treat you professionally and kindly. read more

My tattoo came out wonderful, but the artist was very mean to me. It was being done on my spine and I was not ready for the pain so, as I didn't want to speak and cause him to mess up because of a sharp breath, I lightly tapped on his shoulder and he yelled at me. After that, the pain had gone down but I did start to shed a couple of quiet tears and he made fun of me. He then started having a convo to my BF saying that girls pretend to be in more pain than they really are to get attention from their boyfriends....Just not very professional and I felt like I was a bad customer and an annoyance.... read more

I recently went to Warlocks tattoo, as a walk in. It was a really uninviting/bad experience. When I got there the receptionists were kind of rude and were rushing me to tell them what I needed. Since this was my first tattooing experience I didn't know what to expect, so I just ignored it. I told them I wanted a watercolor style tattoo and told me that there was employees that could definitely do it. My artist ended up being Mike, he was really nice and drew up my tattoo, it looked okay on paper but it definitely looked kind of plain. My thought was that it would look a lot better once the color was added in. He gave me a thick outline but I trusted him since he's a "professional." Then it was time for the color, I was already really nervous because of the thick outline. Once he finished I had a very poorly shaded bird on my back with un proportional text. It turns out that was his second time experimenting with that specific type of style. It doesn't look anything like a watercolor style tattoo, so now I'm actually looking for a cover up artist. Couple of weeks ago I decided to get a new tattoo something simple and yet creative. that being said. I go to Warlocks, really must say I have never met rude and inpatient artists like this. I didn't feel welcomed, one artist seemed like a big time tweaker. Then the artist (Kamil) who "WAS" going to do my tattoo was being unfriendly and inpatient at first but after the stencil put on my skin, He was getting a little racist towards me I don't know if that was his way to be friendly or be a dick? . So I stood up, paid the stencil that was put it on me and walked out. Went to Blue Flame and will always keep going there. NEVER WILL I STEP IN WARLOCKS AGAIN. read more

Staff here are rude and often times appear to be under the influence. Got a crucifix on my arm and it is the only tattoo I regret to this day. The lines are crooked, the color "weight" is different in certain areas (this was supposed to be a simple, solid black tattoo), and the placement was such a bad recommendation in retrospect. I have been getting laser treatments to lighten it so that I can get a decent coverup. If you want to compare sub-par work to beautiful artistry, look at the portfolios of the "artists" that come through Warlock's then look at the portfolios of Pepper (St. Augustine), Florin Zaharia, Ivano Natale, and Felipe Xavier (Charlotte) just to name a few. The difference is night and day. Don't take the risk of getting a bad tattoo just to save a few bucks. A tattoo is very difficult and painful to remove and people WILL judge that s***** "artwork" on your body. Consider this your warning. read more

I got my nipple pierced while on vacation and thought my nipple was eating the piercing so I wanted to get a longer barbell. I decided to head here as it was down the street from me since I couldn't really go back to the place where I originally got the piercing. Their piercer took a look at it for me, assured me it was fine, and went over ways to help the piercing heal. He was super nice, even though I didn't get it there, and knowledgeable. Things started out when me and my cousin decided to get tattoos together (not matching). So we looked for shops in our area and I saw the decent reviews that Warlocks had, because when you want something permanent, you want it done right... I worked with the owner on a design and his tattoos seemed like quality work so I trusted him and he was very personable. Everything seemed to be in order until I got home and took the bandage off... the work was quite sub par. And it is patchy. I warn you! If you get a tattoo here, make sure you check it before you leave! Seems like a no brainer but I thought all would be fine because my first tattoo that I got in my home state was well done... the bad part is when I called to ask them to touch it up they said I couldn't for another 2 weeks and I leave the state in two days. I had never gotten a tattoo before and my worst nightmare would be to go to a place with so-so work and have a messy or just ok tattoo on my body forever. I looked at the galleries on the Warlcock Tattoo website and was impressed. When I got there, I wasn't sure what font I wanted but MJ sat down with me for over half an hour, printing out different fonts and sizes until I found exactly what I wanted. He was so nice and funny and talked to me the whole time during the tattoo, and also let my friends come in and sit with me, so it barely hurt! Also, going to a place where there are legitimate artists means they know what looks good and can give it that extra flare that will bring your tattoo over the top. MJ did some extra little shading in the letters and it looks amazing. I couldn't be happier. I definitely would recommend going here. read more

So I was looking into getting my first tattoo and just wanted to talk about water color tattoos. I was interested to see if any of the artist has done so and if so if they had pictures of previous work. Well the old bald guy behind the front desk completely cut off what I was saying and was just like "do you know what you want or no?. I tried to explain to him that was why I wanted to speak with an artist to see what can or will not work and his response was "Well there is nothing we can do for you unless you know exactly what you want." I wish i could leave no stars but they make you choose at lesst one so one is all they get! Please people do a little more research than I did. I recently had a white ink tattoo done by Byron. It is the ugliest thing I have ever seen and I will definitely getting laser removal. First of all, he mixed with blue ink which he said was the way to do it; however after it ended up looking like a dirty grey I did some research and you aren't supposed to add the blue. Second, the lines are horrible. He was supposed to draw 4 arrows. I gave him a picture and it looks nothing like it. Rather than take the time to do clean work, the lines are crooked and one doesn't even line up with the middle of the arrowhead. Rather than draw a perfect arrow] stencil and duplicate it, you can tell he just free handed the 4 arrows because the sizes are all over the place. He acted the whole time like the tattoo was beneath him and clearly didn't take the time to do a good job. I trusted this man with something as serious as a tattoo and obviously that was not his concern. Please please please people think long and hard before you go to this man. read more

Wow! I initially had 2 great experiences here, but unfortunately, it all depends on the artist. The owner is beyond rude, and while sitting in the waiting room, I have noticed him intimidate people through his ridiculous comments and unnecessary remarks to the point that many just walk out... as a business owner, not quite the best way to run things. The last tattoo that I got here will certainly be my last. The man that I usually go to was not in that day, and he is great, but they put me with this big guy with long hair who immediately pissed me off. His first statement was, "Where the F&*& do you want the red"... I though he said why do I want the red, and after responding, I want it because... he replied with, "I didn't Fing ask you that!" I definitely thought about walking out, but he had drawn it, so I got the tattoo done. He didn't say a word the entire time, and upon completion, I asked him (although I already knew) what to do for aftercare to which he responded, "Ask the Fing guy at the front". Definitely did not leave a tip, and I will never go back there again... seems like the owner's personality is rubbing off on employees and turning away customers. It's a shame that the few good employees lose business because of the other jerks who work there and apparently, have very angry and joyless lives... read more
