I recently had 4 piercings done at this location during the current Coronavirus time. The piercer did not wear a mask and suggested that I take off my mask which I didn't do because there's a pandemic and virus still going on. The location is kind of sketchy. The inside isn't the cleanest. My gauges of my piercings spacing wasn't super even. There was definitely ca difference on both sides.After almost a week past by I noticed that something was going on with my new piercing so I can't act and made an appointment. The front staff had no clue that I was coming in which gives me knowledge of a lack communication takes place here. When I went in during this 2nd visit staff weren't wearing masks, I didn't receive a temp. check and the staff were not social distancing. As I made it to my piercer and waiting in the hallways he was finishing up with a client's tattoo. The guest did not have a mask on and the piercer did not have a mask on. The piercer did not wipe down the chair that I was sitting on and did not wash his hands after servicing me. Instead he just put on a new pair of gloves. The day after this situation I noticed that my other ear started swelling up and puss started squeezing out as time went on. I have experience with piercings and this was my first really bad experience. Now there's a part of my ear that is blackish/purplish with a bump. I'm not sure if this experience is because of sanitation. I contacted management which was helpful the first time and wasn't that helpful this most recent time. Instead the manager said that they only charged me for 2 piercings which isn't my fault because I called in advance and was told when to come in for my 4 requested piercings. If you care about your safety, health, the environment and respect do not go there. The piercer Spade is actually a nice guy minus him not being health conscious about COVID-19. When I left during my first visit I asked the staff if there's anything else needed and that this was my first time here and they said no and I said okay have a good day. Hey maybe I shouldn't have risked it by getting a piercing during these different timings and by seeing how the atmosphere is, but I didn't want to judge a book by its cover. I wouldn't recommend anyone to get any services there. I also asked the owner about a refund which I still have not received a response about. Unprofessional servicing and a lack of cleanliness ------------ More photos added - ended up taking out my ear piercings a little after a week of getting them done. I called other shops for advice. The owner isn't responding to me. I also have no received a refund and reported to the Health Department. I hope no one has to go through this. read more

Horrible place. It was dirty, uninviting, and the workers were short with me. I went in for to pierce my ears, which they rushed me through and totally messed up. My right ear is great, and although the front of my left ear is correct, the back of it is almost at the very bottom of my ear. The earring's backing comes out of the bottom of my ear and looks ridiculous. I'll never be returning and I hope no one else uses these poor excuses for professionals. read more

Went in to get my septum pierced and felt completely rushed. Employees seemed like they were in a hurry to get me in and out. Nothing was explained to me about what they were doing (including the procedure, type of jewellery, etc.). They just sat me down in a chair and went to work without saying much. And after all of that, the piercing was botched and I had to go get it removed at Dogstar. Once it heals, I'll be going back to Dogstar, which feels like a much more sanitary shop where the employees are kind and willing to answer questions. read more

Went here to get a few simple piercings. Everything seemed fine until they called us back to have them done. My friend wanted a cartilage hoop so the guy brought us into the back room with two other guys he was going to tattoo and told her to sit down so he could do it real quick before he starts the tattoos. I was uncomfortable that these two men were now joining us in the small room to watch us get pierced. After discussing where to put it, he finally just had my friend draw the dot herself. When he started to pierce the ear is when I noticed that his hands were visibly shaking and wouldn't stop, and then that he was using a clamp to hold the ear in place. After he got the needle through I'm not too sure what happened But he I guess couldn't get the hoop in and pulled the needle out, so then he had to go back and RE-PIERCE my friends ear. After the second time and finally getting the hoop in, he spent the next 5 min trying to close the hoop and put the ball on, which apparently he's not very skilled at with his hands still shaking terribly. I have seen and witnessed first hand this piercing being done many many many times and know that this whole situation just went terribly wrong. After that I decided not to get mine done and walked out. Don't go here to get piercings I do not want anyone to go through what my friend had to go through. read more

First off they make you pay in advance for tattoos. I have over 10 other tattoos from other places and have never been made to pay in advance, anyways I had a horrible experience. Spade was my artist, quoted me a price for a knee tattoo. I was told the tattoo would be completed that day; all I got was an outline and the artist wasn't feeling well so he told me to come back in two weeks to finish up, when I returned two weeks later he literally worked on me for 30min before he started "not feeling well" I was told to come back again in two weeks. To which I did for three days in a row and "spade" wasn't in the shop to finish. Needless to say I went somewhere else to get it finished which costed me much more on top of the fact I paid for him to do the tattoo in advance and he never finished. Very unprofessional, poorly ran and operated shop. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy get tattooed here... the line work he did was busted and what color he started was outside of the lines in places and didn't hold very well. read more

Went to buy a nose ring, but they only had nose studs. When I asked if they had loops, they sold me a loop ear piercing (as I didn't know any better). It looked sort of thick and small for my nose piercing, so I asked if it would work, but they said it should. It was too thick to even fit through my piercing without being too painful, and was too small to fit around my nose. I shouldn't have bought it in the first place, but they were pushy about buying one of the options. Not a good place to go to buy nose ring piercings! read more

I will NEVER EVER ever go to Skin City again. I was so excited to go and get a tattoo for my daughter with her name, a clock with the time she was born, and a rose for her middle name. I made a appointment with Debi, and came in the next day. I showed her the picture of what I wanted. She drew it up and had the time wrong on the clock so I asked her to switch the hands to make it the correct time. Ever since that moment, she was rude as hell to me. When we got back into her room and she started off with the tattoo, I felt bad about how I asked her to change the time since I could tell it annoyed her, she went on to tell me and my mother that one time a guy was a d*ck to her so she put 16 hidden d*cks in his tattoo. I told her to please not do that to my tattoo. Anyways, I've had tattoos before and I could tell she was pressing EXTRA hard to make my tattoo less comfortable. When I got home I looked at my tattoo again and she wrote the INCORRECT birthdate for my daughter. Her bday is 12-17-10 and she put 12-17-20 in roman numerals. I asked her while at the tattoo shop if this was the correct date because I didn't know and she said yes she was 100% sure. I should have double checked but I was stupid and trusted her. Then a couple days later someone pointed out to me that she put the 12 wrong in roman numerals on the clock that I had tattooed with what time she was born. When I called her and explained the birthdate was wrong, she did not apologize. She was very rude and said come back in 4 weeks and she will try to fix it. I have had my tattoo for 3 weeks now and it looks horrible. I know they need touched up after a little while but my rose just looks horrible. I WILL BE GOING ELSE WHERE TO GET MY TATTOO FIXED. DO NOT GO TO SKIN CITY AND DEFF DO NOT GO TO DEBI. When people ask where I get my tattoo, I will deff not recommend this tattoo place. I gave her a $40 tip also, before I realized she messed up the date and time on my tattoo. I regret going there and really wish I would have went somewhere else. *UPDATE* It's now been 4 weeks since I got my tattoo and it has HORRIBLE scarring. I also have what is referred to as a tattoo blow out. People keep asking if my arm is bruised under my tattoo. I'm so mad I wasted my money at this place! read more

Went to get a forward triple helix. It was pierced the wrong size, and the first time the top helix was done crooked, a full 1/4" off the mark. Spade (the piercer) told me it was just swollen, but I told him I could see the mark he was trying to hit and the piercing wasn't even close. He then said I moved when he was piercing...also not true. I wasn't told how to take care of it until my friend asked, and when I nearly passed out after the 2nd piercing they didn't have glucose tablets to help me recover- which is standard to have on hand from what I've been told. The piercing of the 2nd and third holes also took a crazy long time. My friend who also has cartilage piercings was horrified at how long it took- well over a minute- for him to get the needle through, let alone the excruciating pain of having the earring SLOWLY put in. I returned to get the third one redone since I had already paid for it, but again it was done crooked. Not only was it not where I wanted it (though it was allllmost right this time) it was facing the completely wrong direction. Both times Spade never apologized for doing it wrong, he just kept trying to convince me it was correct. I've had to take it out again and I'm absolutely going somewhere else to have it redone once it reheals again. Very frustrating. I so wanted to be able to leave a good review, Spade was a great guy and so calming to work with. The first two piercings were done well. Do note: you don't get an earring option when you go in (at least I was told I didn't have a choice). read more

they pierced my best friends septum in the absolutely incorrect place. went in to dogstar to get it checked out and the piercer there said that at that position and placement there was a 90% chance that the skin would reject it until it completely tore apart and fell out, or on the chance of that not happening it'd take 6 months to a year to heal instead of the standard 2 - 3 weeks. not only that, they used a curved barbell which according to other piercers should *never* be used on septum piercings (it was also the only available jewellery they had for septum....) i on the other hand got a beauty mark piercing on the same day right after her, and though i didn't have any placement problems, the jewellery was such bad quality and was cutting open my lip on either side and it was horribly painful.they also did not leave enough room for swelling which caused more irritation. plus they did not give any info for after care and the information that i did get i asked for, and it was all incorrect!! overall the people were nice and the environment was relaxing but i'd recommend going elsewhere if you're looking for a good quality piercing read more
