I really recommend warren barr! have my grandma there for a year now & she loves going to activities to make friends. Really clean place!!

UPDATE: We decided it was in my grandmas best interest to start In home hospice care. We found these soars on her neck from being neglected for over a month. My grandma suffered a stroke in October, survived many complications and is now at this nursing home. Due to the COVID-19, on March 11th they restricted all visitations for the safety of their patients (understandable). It has now been over a month since she has seen anyone in our family. Thursday afternoon, we received a heartbreaking call informing us that she hadn't been responsive in days, her vitals are low and we should say our final goodbyes.. could be a couple hours or days. As we all rushed over there, they refused to let us in to see her. Today, we gave the receptionist an iPad and asked that she'd set it up in my grandmas room. The iPad is set to automatically pick up FaceTime calls. Can't see her in person, at least we can see her, talk to her and let her know how much we love her through FaceTime. Hours later, in the middle of a FaceTime, one of the nurses comes into my grandmas room hangs up and closes the IPad case. Now we really can't see my grandma and she can't see us. We call, asked that it would be put back up and they refused. Said it was just temporary. We asked, are the residents not allowed to use cell phones? All other hospitals and nursing homes are allowing family members to call their loved ones. In fact, it is encouraged by primary care physicians!! The nurse, said oh they are allowed cell phones. But you cannot record her or our nurses. We explained that it is set like a phone, please this is all we have. She said, this is our policy you can call the director on Monday and then hangs up in our face. It is Easter, my grandma's favorite holiday, she is not promised an hour let alone until Monday. You must have no heart at all to strip away our rights and my grandmas rights at her last final stages of life. This has taken a toll on our entire family. This is an awful place. With some, not all, but some of the most heartless people working there. If you love your family members, do not bring them here. read more

My 95 year old mother passed away after only residing at Warren Barr in Skokie for 1.5 years. When they moved her from the 7th floor down to the 4th floor her $200 cash were stolen and her portable wheel chair. After purchasing my mom an outfit with extra pair of slacks and using gorilla tape that my 1st cousin was helpful in labeling her clothes, the help stole entire outfit. A friend of the family was on the list to take my mom to the Webster Dental and he phoned Mr while I was at work livid that the Lieberman would not allow him to take my mom and naturally her tooth got infected! Pain and suffering. This friend is like a mom and he is like her son since my brother is deceased. This way she could have enjoyed his company too. He goes back 40 years with my family. When my daughter came in for a visit her portable wheel chair gone so she had to somehow put the standard size in my trunk. Now she passed 1/15/24 and they keep sending bills. The 1st one 1800 and now 3800. My mom is teased so this is why you are getting a right up! They also opened up a credit card in her name. Wtf. The nurse Christina would always avoid me and when I called she never pu or returned my call. Way to go! She would pu the phone everything I walked toward her office. I would like an investigation to all her property that went missing. She fell one time and fractured her ribs so she was sent to Glenbrook hosp. I spent many days sitting and spending time with my mom. On 1/16/24 6pm I came to pu my mom's personal affects and they said Robert's gone for the day Wtf I came the following day so once again they must have been going thru her things. I called the Skokie Police for a theft report and mysteriously Robert turned up and I retrieved my mom's belongings. I'm sorry mom for putting you in this Hell hole but you could no longer take care of yourself! I miss you mom! Lieberman stop sending my mom anymore bills since you obviously no she is dead and you got all her money, Social Security checks, all the money you made for sending out countless bills to keep everything in house. My Mom, Olga M., is a resident of the Russian and Ukrainian-speaking 6th floor of the Warren Barr Lieberman nursing home in Skokie. I deeply appreciate the compassion, kindness, and exceptional professionalism of the dedicated staff working there. In particular, Inna Spirova (Guardian Hospice) is truly remarkable: I am confident that my mother and other residents receive the utmost care and attention when Inna is around. Inna carefully tends to everyone's needs, maintains an impeccably clean environment, and always has a kind word for everybody. Barbara, a Restorative Aide, ensures my mother's and fellow residents' physical well-being. Barbara is very attentive and has a naturally kind and nurturing personality. The activity coordinator, Viktoria, and the Social Worker, Jia, are incredibly imaginative in ensuring the residents enjoy moments of contentment and joy. Concerts, holiday celebrations, and pampering sessions are my mother's favorites. I am grateful to the medical staff who gave my mother professional and compassionate care. The attentive nursing team carefully monitors my mother's condition and promptly addresses any concerns in collaboration with Dr. Lanski and the Registered Nurses. My warmest regards and sincere appreciation to the remarkable people working on the 6th floor. For the love of god, do not send your loved ones here. My grandmother is 95 years old with dementia. She was transferred here from the ER to recover from COVID and get some additional help. We have been taking care of her at home for years, but we felt it was time for her to have additional medical assistance. She was wheel-chair bound previously, but after she was hit with COVID, she became bed-bound. She was only there for two days, and we demanded to have her returned home after seeing the deplorable condition she was in. They wanted us to wait another two days to bring her home, but we demanded for her to be returned home immediately. Upon arriving to her room, we were in complete awe. She was unbathed, still wearing the same night gown and socks as the day she arrived, hair was completely matted on the back of her head from laying down for 48 hours straight, and worst of all, she was laying in a soiled diaper (both poop and pee) for so long, that it seeped from her night gown and on to the bed. My mom cleaned her up. Her head scarf and sheets were on the floor. There were no fitted sheets on the bed. The bed was pushed up against the wall so she couldn't grip the rail to even adjust herself. There was no call button for the nurse, and the remote to adjust the bed was by her feet. She does not speak english, but as soon as we walked in, she was signaling for water and her lips were completely dry. There was no water in her room, no towels, no gloves, no sheets. We sent a duffle bag with all of her medications, and they were completely untouched. Her night gowns were still in the bag, as well. She also requires oxygen, and the nasal cannula was not even in her nose. We believe she was sedated, as her speech was completely slurred, and she was confused about where she was. When we approached a nurse by the name of Faye, we showed her the filthy diaper. She claims that she was changed two hours ago, but the weight of the diaper told us otherwise. We were already so upset, and she had the nerve to tell us "well if you're not happy with the care here, then just take her home or shop around for another facility". The absolute nerve of this woman to say that to a family who is literally crying their eyes out seeing such a beautiful woman in such a horrible condition. We asked to speak to a nursing supervisor, and she lied saying there was no one on duty. We asked the receptionist, and she said there was one on staff. The nursing supervisor literally refused to come to speak with us. To make matters worse, there was a woman in the next room screaming for help, and nurse Faye walked right past her room without coming to her aid. A delicate, beautiful flower was brought there for some medical care, and came home wilted. Every person who was assigned to the care of my grandmother should be ashamed of themselves. My grandmother is now back home in her own bed, safe and sound. Please, please stay away from here. read more

This is a bad place. My grandfather was here for a a month and a half. In that time, he fell multiple times without any effort to prevent it from happening again. He also got bed sores within a week, which he never had before. Often he would not be fed, and the food would just be laying uneaten in his room. Every time I visited, I almost never saw any staff coming in to check on him. Go anywhere but here. STAY AWAY! read more

My father ended up here after a stay at the hospital in hopes to get some PT and OT to gain back some strength. I arranged for him to come home a week and half after being at Lieberman because I was so concerned about the care. He said to me "Don't let me die in here". Leave your loved ones here at your own risk. No food menus are given. In the Lieberman welcome packet there is a menu of their food, its for show and nothing more. Patients get zero choice or even told what they are receiving. If you are lucky it is not stale bread. Staff just laughed about it and did nothing to rectify the situation, which is unbelievable. I spoke to the social worker during the meeting about the food. Didn't matter in the end. My dad would receive a bagel and cottage cheese the day after the complaint but was back to bread slice the next day. Lunch and dinner are always an hour to an hour and half late and stone cold. Extremely small portions, I would be shocked if it hits 1200 calories which is not enough to function or recover from 3 hours of PT and OT a day. My dad asked me to bring food because he felt like he was going to pass out during PT because he was so weak from hunger. Lieberman is very under staffed and overworked. Hit the call bell and see no one for an hour or more. If you need assistance to get to the bathroom good luck! The options you are left with are risk falling trying to get to the bathroom on your own or wet/poop yourself and sit in it. My dad couldn't sleep because the poor lady next door would scream for a nurse or help all day and night long. Visiting my dad I could hear her yell help from the parking lot. Clearly, she needs more assistance or help, which I mentioned to staff multiple times. No one answers their phone. My dad called dietary, social worker, director and left messages. Never got a return call. Again another page from the welcome packet for show and nothing more. I had to call and complain about how my father couldn't get a shower because the staff didn't know how to cover his leg with a wound. It's a plastic bag or cast bag to cover it. I'm not sure how this is the first time the staff has encountered this issue and their solution is to just skip him. I sent the social worker an email about this issues and that I needed a reply asap. Received no reply, found out later the social worker was out of the office. I'm not sure why there was no out of office reply with another contact. I had enough and arranged for my dad's transportation to home myself and told Lieberman staff he was leaving. Finally, got calls back to get this scheduled and arrange home care health. Vanessa let me know that she was on my father's floor that day and haven't heard an complaints. You cannot know about complaints when none of the staff communicates it to you or answers their phones or messages. Thank god my dad is of sound mind unlike some of the other residents. He spoke to Vanessa about the issues and that he has had his call alarm going off for 45 minutes now while she was in the room with no response. They talked and she left and no one ever showed up for the call light still, my dad gave up turned the call light off himself. Instead of getting someone for the call light, they had time instead to send up a psychologist to ask my dad if he is depressed. My dad told them with the care at Lieberman and a woman screaming day and night of course he is depressed being there. To add insult to injury, after I get my dad home Liberman staff called up and asked my dad if he was getting good care and if he has fell. Really, now you care about his welfare now the Medicare money is gone? Of course he is doing better because he is here with his daughter that responds and cares for her father's well being unlike this facility. He could have fallen on the floor at Lieberman and not see staff to help him for hours but they are worried about my care for my father, unbelievable. My dad has been to other facilities for rehab (PT and OT) and this by far is the worse one I've had to deal with. read more

I realize places are short staffed, COVID blah blah blah. This place is a joke and every single person who works here should be ashamed of themselves. You trust these people with your loved ones, and what do they do? Neglect them. My grandmother was on the 5th floor, she got transferred out of the hospital to this facility for rehab purposes. Instead of putting her on the correct floor- they just popped her on the 5th floor because of her mental state? Wrong. The "nurse" was dismissive as soon as we got there- we just transferred my grandmother maybe we need some help, answer some questions? I can't remember her name starts with an N worst "nurse" when my brother asked if my grandmother had taken her medication she replied with a flippant "yes" when he asked when she said "I don't know" what do you mean you don't know when her medication was given? I walked in and saw my grandmother was clearly in critical condition and asked for an ambulance to be called. The "head nurse" came in and tried to pitch this place and for her to stay!!! They can't even change her diaper without me asking- you want me to let her stay when she needs medical attention!?! This "head nurse" had the nerve to get an attitude with me when all I wanted was an ambulance. She didn't even give my grandma a proper COVID test and you're the head nurse?! After a 5 day hospital stay one of the admins somehow convinced my brother to have my grandma come back to the 3rd floor. They said "the 5th floor is a mess 3rd is better" I'm sorry? How can you be ok with an entire floor being neglected just because of their mental state? Just because they have dementia, Alzheimer's what ever it is, doesn't mean they don't deserve to be treated like humans. My grandma had another episode a few days later and the same "head nurse" (comical honestly ) said they are not equipped for this but could put an IV of antibiotics in. YOU TOLD ME 9 DAYS AGO YOU COULD HANDLE THIS? We had to go to another hospital and they were SHOCKED because the nursing home put the IV in incorrectly. Seriously?! Nursing 101 is putting an IV in. What a joke. A complete joke. Please do yourself a favor and don't bring your loved one here. If you aren't there advocating for your loved one they will let them sit in feces, not brush their teeth or care if they've eaten. Oh! They were also dosing her medicine wrong! Found that out at the hospital too. Nurses- if these people are nurses I am Elon Musk. Don't let them fool you with this "recently bought out" thing they're saying. Neglectful nurses will always be neglectful, no matter who owns you. Just do yourself a favor and don't bring your loved one to this hell. Everyone deserves more. read more

My mother is a resident at Warren Barr Lieberman Nursing Home in Skokie. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and very nice. They provide home-cooked meals and prioritize dignity and support for patients. The staff is highly experienced and treats residents like family. Do not ever bring your loved ones here. Horrendous care and treatment from staff and higher ups, who ignored our families questions and directions in terms of keeping my grandfathers items in tact. Eyeglasses and other items were lost multiple times because aids ignored our repeated direction to check his pockets before putting his clothes in the wash. But the kicker, and the reason for this review, is that an aid stole my grandfathers wedding ring. A ring he wore for 60 YEARS, a ring that helped remind us of my grandmother who passed 4 years ago. I am absolutely sick over this fact and will not soon forget it. The things I would like to do should I ever find the garbage human being that took his wedding ring. If you have one ounce of respect for your family members, take them somewhere else in their time of need. read more

This is a great facility. My grandmother just joined couple weeks ago my grandma was at Evanston hospital for a stroke. I was searching for facilities around the area. I came across Warren Barr Lieberman. I called and was immediately impressed by how detailed and how much information the admissions personal Jennifer provided to me as I have never gone through this. My grandmother has been at Lieberman for rehab and I must say..... This was the best decision!!! Hazel and Kate are AMAZING! I pressed the call light an immediately a CNA came to check in on her. The managers are always on the floors making sure everyone is up to par. Guest relations Val and Lily are always on top of everything! It's been nothing but great experience so far & I'm glad we chose this place. read more

My friend who is 80 has been there for 3 months and has lost so much weight is shocking. When the nurse comes in with medicine, she can't tell me what it is. All of his clothing we have brought him and written his name in has disappeared and we are asked to bring more. The room is always dirty also. read more

My mom has been a resident for over 4 years. She was in assisted living, then moved to the memory care unit on the 5th floor. I'm very relieved and happy that my mom is in great hands. The staff, from the nurses, dining staff, janitors, aides, etc are all so caring and kind. Myrtle Mobley, who works on the 5th floor, constantly demonstrates her amazing care and compassion for my mom and the other residents. Thank you to everyone working on the 5th floor. I needed to get a patient admitted to a rehab facility after she was discharged from a local hospital. I contacted the admission office at a Rehab facility in Skokie to check if they could accept the patient. The admission office at this rehab took almost 3 days to check all the insurance information and decide if they can accept the patient. after waiting for all this time and still no answer, I contacted Warren Barr Leiberman Raheb facility in Skokie to check if they could take the patient. The social worker at Leiberman (Jennifer Dinkha) was able in a matter of few hours to verify the insurance, arrange for the patient to be picked up from home and brought to their facility. This place has been nothing but cold hearted to my family. Due to Covid-19, my family is not able to visit my grandmother, so we invested in an iPad that's set to automatically answer our FaceTime calls. I was in the middle of FaceTiming my paralyzed grandmother, who is in her final moments of life, when someone in that facility hung up in my face and closed the iPad. When I called to have them put it back up they simply said no and hung up in my face. Please do not bring your loved ones here. If you care about your loved one do NOT bring them here. They are the most rudest, most cruelest nurses I have every come in contact with. A nurse is supposed to be empathetic but they are NOT! They called us on Thursday to tell us that my aunt was in her final days, was unresponsive and to come say bye to her. So since the coronavirus has no visitor policy we were only allowed 2 people to go say goodbye. My aunt has 7 children, 19 grandchildren, over 42 nieces and nephews, etc etc. of course with coronavirus shutting the world down unexpectedly we knew we wouldn't be able to get everyone to say their final goodbyes. We asked the social worker working with my aunt if we can set up an iPad that automatically answers the calls for my family members to simply say bye in her final days/hours. To me it seemed like she has been neglected since the lockdown started. No tv on, just laying in bed staring at the ceiling. Mind u my aunt had a stroke back in October and is partially paralyzed so she cannot do much. In addition, my aunt does not speak good English and given that the stroke stripped away her ability to speak u could only imagine the rest. I know many of us are complaining because of this shut down we are completely bored etc. imagine an 84 year old that is staring at the walls and ceilings for 30 days because the nursing staff refused to turn on a tv or even allowed us to call without having a rude nurse hang up when we tried to even see if she was doing good. Even prisoners have better rights then what she endured in the last month during lockdown. So the social worker allowed us to bring in an iPad and let us FaceTime her. We took turns FaceTiming her and because Easter was her favorite holiday we played the Easter mass for her and she was making the cross and following the mass. So us coming into see her for the 30 minutes they allowed actually revived her mood and gave her some life. She was soo happy to see us all on FaceTime. In the middle of the FaceTime call you can see a shadow on the wall and someone closed the iPad and it hung up. When we called back it was dark screen but U can hear the silence. We simply called and asked if her nurse can just fix it because her brother from Arizona was going to call. The nurse said that my aunts nurse was on break and that she would let her know when she came back and hung up rude and abruptly. 2 hours go by and I hesitated in fear of retaliation but I really just had so much adrenaline knowing I was actually making my aunt feel better and how happy she was made my heart just flutter. I called them and the nurse went back and forth with me and stated that we aren't able to record them. I asked her if residents there were allowed to have cell phones and she said yes. This was a Verizon iPad with an actual SIM card and had an actual phone number linked to the iPad. Back and forth again about recording and boom "okay bye" and hung up. I called back and spoke to the front desk and (by the way was exceptional! She was the only one that was professional) connected me to supervising nurse named Maria. Maria then stated that on the other floors they are allowing FaceTiming of family members so she was confused on why they weren't allowing us. So she said she would call me back she was going to call the administrator and see what the policy was. She called me back within 10 min and said "no iPads allowed. And u cannot record them" I was not going back and forth with her because at that point it was 10:30pm and I was emotionally and mentally exhausted from all this. I don't know why they had an issue on recording and why they were so afraid but it makes me very skeptical on how much elderly neglect goes on in that home. Long story short we have decided to pull her out of that home and bring her home. If u love ur family members there are other options just trust reviewers. This is a sad story and at the end of the day no one wins! If I had to stay there for 30 days and I was healthy as ever I would prob end up unresponsive too. read more

If only I could rate this place with a zero star. Because this place is the lowest of the low. The cold-hearted nurses that work here should consider a different career. I've heard stories of how nurses can mistreat vulnerable patients and it devastes my heart, but the pain intensifies when it's your own family! Patients at Lieberman Health Center are human beings, who have the same rights as you and I. How dare you strip them of the simple rights of being able to facetime family members. As of right now, during this shutdown, it's extremely essential for patients to be able to see/interact with their families. Horrible experience! Dirty rooms and common areas and extremely rude staff. It took 30 minutes to answer a call light and the response was awful. please don't let anyone you know - or even your worst enemy - be placed there. My mother was a resident on 6th floor for almost 8 years. This facility had much better values before it was acquired by Warren Barr. They did a very nice remodeling of the facility, but it became so impersonal, so uncaring after acquisition. Mostly temp stuff, changing all the time, you don't know what to expect anymore. They keep all residents in a cafeteria all day in front of the TV, regardless of their personal needs. Some nurses are nice and caring, but not everybody, and they are constantly short staffed, so no attention to residents. I had to hire private caregiver to spend some time with my mother, make sure she is eating, clean and her needs are met. They closed a very nice and spacious library that used to provide a nice change of scenery to residents and allowed for nice family visits. There is no more space to take your loved ones for a family get together on weekends in winter months. In summer there is a small yard at least. The bigger yard that used to be available is not accessible anymore. Very sad. read more

In regard to Charles W review of 11/12/2021, to me staying at the Warren Barr Lieberman Center was the exact opposite of this review. For one thing, most of the staff was not amazing. The only amazing thing was if a nurse or someone answered your ring within an hour or so to assist you. A rocker/recliner chair was brought to my room as the chair I had was hard to sit on. The chair had very bad springs and upon getting up one day, the chair pushed forward, knocking me to the ground and due to my fractured knee, I was unable to bring myself up. I rang for a nurse and was on the floor for 20 minutes with no answer, so I called downstairs for someone to come and about 4 people suddenly came in to assist me. This shouldn't be, someone should've answered my ring in a matter of minutes. Most of the food was very bad. There were probably many complaints as the Rabbi called a meeting for all the residents to hear their complaints and adviced them of additional things that would be going on the menu. The food never changed in the time I was there. One of my daughters brought me a dinner and some additional clothing one night at around 5:00 P.M. As the building was in full quarantine, she was unable to bring it to my room. The girl at the desk advised her they would have someone bring it up to me. I called downstairs about 3 times from about 5 o'clock to 7:15 and kept hearing no one was available to bring my package to me. My daughter called up and asked to speak to someone in charge as she thought it was ridiculous that I hadn't gotten my food yet. An administer did call her and arranged for someone to bring me my package, My food was too cold to eat when I finally received it at 7:30 P.M. I do not understand why someone couldn't be available to bring something up from the first to third floor. Beds were hardly made and when they were, the blankets were not left and you had to find someone to get blankets for you. Towels were taken out of the bathroom and not replaced at the time they were taken out and you had to find someone to get you towels Regarding physical therapy, you never knew when someone would be there to give you the physical therapy. There should've been set times and days. Due to being quarantined because of the Covid patients right across from me, some therapy was given in my room, I rarely went to the physical therapy room. I had rehab at Lieberman a few years ago, at that time staff was great, food was excellent, physical therapy was great - I highly recommended Lieberman as a place to stay. Today, I highly recommend Lieberman as a place to stay away from. read more

My late mother was there for approximately 8 years until her death in Sept. 2020. She hated the institution. There were an ever decreasing number of CNAs per shift over the years. When she entered there were 5 per shift. After a few years it went down to TWO CNAs per shift. This is to provide care for 48 people! Impossible even if they were all saints. She was in a wheelchair and was told to urinate in her chair or in bed and that they would change her. This was to avoid her putting herself onto the toilet. They were much more worried about liability than her dignity. She refused but couldn't get off the toilet by herself. She would regularly ring the emergency call bell and wait for up to an hour for assistance! Usually no one even checked to see what the emergency's. Until the last dietician, the food was inedible. As she neared death, they did everything they could to scare her into going to the hospital. We resisted until their scare tactics worked. They were desperate avoid her dying in what had become home to her as much as she hated it. The high administrators lied to her and to me constantly. Several months before her death, they accidentally dropped her while showering her. Instead of calling me to tell me that her leg was badly cut (loving son and Medical Power of Attorney) and taking her to the emergency room for treatment, they commenced to minimize, under treat, and outright lie about her leg. It became massively infected even as th Executive denied that. He actually reassured me that the Lieberman wound nurse had said that the infection was gone. The very next day, she thought she had had a possible small stroke and was taken to the emergency room. Imagine my surprise when two vascular doctors told me that her infection was so bad that if my mother didn't respond to the strongest antibiotics they would administer, my mother would face amputation!! I could go on forever about this hell hole, but find myself enraged anew a year after my mother's death. I am available for further questions. Joe read more

They lied about giving my parent the IV medicine he needed. They didn't treat his wound that developed. The food is gross and they kept giving super salty food to someone with kidney issues. They let other patient yell and scream and do nothing. They provide no skilled nursing. They promised wound care to come by to take care of the wound but no one came for 3 days. Everything is old and outdated. Don't trust your family with this place. It looks like a place you go to be ignored and let your wounds get worse and worse while not receiving the medicine you require. read more

I am a physician who also has a family member at this facility and I am appalled by the way they have handled the care of my aunt in her dying days. I am very disappointed at poor care and lack of compassion and empathy by the staff at this facility. Interestingly, my aunt was thriving when my family was allowed to visit daily and feed and clean her on their own.. now i understand that there is a global pandemic but this only leads me to believe that the care she was getting subsequently was sub par if the family wasn't there to suggest that the staff actually do their job. As my beloved family member has now reached her final hours, we are not even allowed to say our final goodbyes, through video calling for that matter. Unfortunately, this is how we will remember the end of my aunt's life and the struggle we had to go through just to say goodbye. All thanks to Lieberman nursing home... very unfortunate!! As a physician, I have also been video conferencing with my own patients in other nursing homes and find it rather questionable that you don't allow family members to video conference their loved ones in your facility. I hope that this facility can change their tune before it is too late. read more

This place is horrible. They aren't allowing families to FaceTime their loved ones when their loved ones are on the verge of passing away. It needs to be shut down. What kind of place could be so heartless and insensitive. If you're considering taking your loved ones to this dump, I suggest you not to. Due to corona there's no visitation rights, which is understandable; however, to not allow someone to FaceTime with their family member is absurd and wrong. read more

I'm giving this one star...for the location only! We had an awful experience here. My dad was admitted to a room that looked like it hadn't changed since the 1970's. The staff was rude, unsympathetic and inconsiderate, for the most part. The food was fit for animals. We sent my dad to transitional health in Arlington heights, which is like the ritz compared to this place. Do not send your family here. read more

Let me start my review by saying there are some good staff that do care but this is as positive as my review will be. A family member was referred to Lieberman by Northwestern Memorial Hospital. I thought, if NMH is referring, it's probably a stellar place. I thought wrong. First of all, don't even go here if you or your family member is on a restrictive diet - they will send you the wrong foods and apologize on occasion but don't do anything to prevent it from happening in the future. Second, I have caught several nursing staff members lie about changing my family member at a certain time WHEN I WAS IN THE ROOM AND NO ONE DID A CHANGING - seriously, how do you expect me to have faith in your facility if you lie to my face? Third, we were promised physical therapy when we entered the facility. And, 10 days later, we did receive it. There seems to always be a miscommunication on schedules for physical therapy and anything else that's scheduled. Here's the kicker - my family member had a sore on one of her feet. So, what did the nurse at Lieberman do? Yep, she bandaged the wrong foot. How on earth does this happen? I'm normally a positive reviewer but I have to say, this place is full of incompetency, lack of involvement with a patient's family, and will have every excuse in the world as to why something wasn't accomplished. If you are considering Lieberman, seriously look elsewhere. I've met several patients on the same floor who's family members have all said it was a big disappointment and nothing was done but their money sure was taken and Medicare received a hefty bill for no improvement. read more

The rehab department at Lieberman is outstanding. Incredibly trained, caring, responsive, accommodating, creative physical and occupational therapists do an excellent job of working with patients to meet their needs and maximize their potential. They encourage independence while providing support and encouragement. read more

My dad recovered here after suffering a devastating stroke. I never thought he would be able to live on his own again. But after several weeks of intense rehab, he moved back home. The food was so-so but the therapy and care he received were terrific. Loved the private rooms too at no extra charge. Really gave him time to recuperate and focus on his recovery. Since then, he has continued to regain his strength and speech. He just celebrated his 90th birthday and still lives independently, taking buses around Chicago and trips to California. I am sure that Lieberman's rehab program saved his life... and in turn, mine! read more

Great place. Caring staff. Everybody very helpful and friendly. Rehab unit is newly renovated. This facility is non profit so you can say they really focus on their patients instead of the corporate angle. My family has stayed at other places and I can honestly say there is no place better than Lieberman. Very thankful. read more

This place is wonderful and the people here are the most passionate individuals you will find in a place like this. They do all they can to help you keep comfortable and the food is great as well. It takes a certain type of person to work here and it is obvious their staff is wonderful and compassionate. I HIGHLY recommend this place as it is very clean, the views are wonderful and as a patient here I am glad we decided to come here. G-D bless everyone here. read more
