Dr Merguerian, is the best dentist. I have ever been to in my entire lifetime. I have crowns that have held up for over 25 years now. He is compassionate and caring and is skilled in his trade. He also tells it like it is and never circles around the truth. If I need an extraction and the tooth can't be saved pull it. Doctor is very nice and professional. His wife is so sweet too. Never had a problem and highly recommend him. He is the only dentist in the Toms River area I will go to. He explains everything and takes his time. So what if he sings while working, a happy dentist creates a happy patient. I've been going to Dr. Merguerian since I was a child and had terrible hygiene habits(poor parenting). He was my worst enemy, till I grew up and realized I hate all dentists!! All my fault!! He has done several procedures on me when I started taking care of my teeth. FYI- I am now 46 and my wife and children all see him. He is THE BEST!! Very straight forward and personable. This dentist is more like a chop shop he takes short cuts and cuts corners only cares about putting money in his pocket not actually practicing patient care and professionalism. i had a consult was assured everything would be fine he won't be happy until I was happy months later I was worse than I started he refused to see me during actual office hours forcing visits before the office opened during a lunch or after hours almost set me on fire using this homemade blow torch device cursed me out in front of his office staff and other patients I had no choice but to find care elsewhere for an actual professional to confirm what he did was 1000% wrong insurance got involved recouped payments and re-instated benefits only for him to refuse to refund my copayments and deductible even after the insurance sent him letters to refund ALL payments now disputing charge having to take him to small claims court. please if you are even thinking of having this man care for you think twice he will convince you everything will be great expect you to pay up front only to not only disappoint you but to the be spiteful and refuse to make right. I feel bad for him I'm sure he has problems sleeping at night maybe that is why he is so grumpy. Beware....dont say I didn't warn you! read more

I really enjoy Dr. Merguerian. I wish I still had dental insurance so I could continue to use his services. A couple of things you should know about the man: 1) he is a die-hard Yankees fan, and 2) he will likely sing along with the radio while he works on your teeth. He has done several fillings for me, as well as a crown. His pricing is very reasonable, and I've never had any trouble with his work after the fact. I don't often leave reviews but Dr. Merguerian and his office warrant a stellar review. On more than one occasion they have taken me last minute due to a pain related emergency and fit me promptly (within the hour) into their schedule. Moreover he has never pushed any unnecessary treatments or procedures on me AND his office always calls a day or two later just to see how I'm feeling. That's amazing. This guy is too quick. Too busy singing along to songs. I was barely numb when he started and he walked out of my procedure to do SOMEONE ELSE'S extraction?? Never mind that but cut my gums while drilling and refused to acknowledge any of this. Also noted on my account is narcotic allergy. What did he PUSH ON ME??? NARCOTICS!! and only AFTER He worked on me. I am disgusted by his reaction to my review on another site and am within jurisdiction to take him to court. KEEP SHOPPING he has no bedside manner and will treat you like a paycheck. read more

My Dad recommended Dr Merguerian to me years ago because I needed a tooth pulled and I didn't have insurance. He charged me an unbelievably fair price and I now continue to go to him as an insured patient. If you have an appointment at 5 you can guarantee going in on time and not spending hours there. I also like that he does his own cleanings, not a different hygienist each time. I have recommended countless people there with and without insurance and he has worked with the uninsured ones very fairly and gotten them in quickly for appointments. I have never felt comfortable with a dentist before him. read more

I agree with a previous review. This doctor only cares about money and not his patients. He covers for the dentist my grandmother usually sees. We took my grandmother to him for her being in excruciating pain due to a root canal. He refused my 83 year old grandmother in pain and left her walking out of the office crying because he didn't take her dental insurance. He wouldn't even offer to do a payment plan, wouldn't give us an alternative dentist that does take her insurance, and would not give us the X-rays he already took before realizing he didn't take her Horizon plan. Go somewhere else if you want to be treated like a patient and not a paycheck. read more
