The children's play area has several different play structures and 2 sets of swings. The area around and under all of the play structures is astroturf. Some of the play structures and the swings have shade clothes above them to minimize the effects of the sun. There are a few benches for supervising adults to rest on. My husband and I frequently include the park as part of our walks and it is always immaculate, including the play area. In addition to the picnic gazebo in the new extension, there are several picnic tables in the original part of the park. The park is perfect for a picnic lunch and stroll, or a picnic and play outing for children.

The paved walking path…read moreis perfect for getting in some exercise or enjoying a relaxing stroll, and the park is always clean and well maintained. One thing I really appreciated was having a porta potty available. It may seem like a small detail, but it's nice to have a restroom option while you're out walking. Whether you're looking for a peaceful place to stretch your legs, bring the kids, or simply enjoy some fresh air, Wetherby Park is definitely worth a visit. It's a nice community park that has everything you need for a pleasant afternoon.

Located in the Douglass Hills neighborhood, Crosby Park is used on a daily basis by the community…read moreand adjoining neighbors. The middle school next door also uses it for school events (Color Run, student celebrations). The pool is public and you can purchase day passes fairly cheap (less than $10pp). I've been told it is busy during the day with hours blocked out for the DH swim team practices. Besides a large walking circle, visitors use the soccer goals, sand volleyball court and tables / benches. A small playground has a few swings and things to crawl on - and as a mom I hate the taller climbing pieces, which are broken arms waiting to happen. On this last visit we spotted a free book stand. I'll have to remember to bring some books to share! Tonight we visited the park for its annual fireworks show. It's fairly impressive and brings out the crowd. You can come early for music and food trucks (or pack a cooler) or drive over a few minutes before the show with your camping chair. While not as scenic as other parks in Louisville this is a spot you can enjoy with others or for a walk to clear your head.

This park is a hidden gem back in the Berrytown, Anchorage community. There are tennis courts,…read moreabasketball court, a full-size softball field, picnic tables, grills, a playground, a swingset, restrooms, and (in need on repair) horseshoe pits. The park is just off LaGrange Rd -- turn onto Heafer Road and you'll see the park in about a 1/2 mile. The parking lot is small, but sufficient for this very quiet park tucked away in a residential neighborhood. It appears to be managed by Metro Parks, but could use some work. No walking or running path here. The softball field benches appear to have been broken and remain unfixed. On the Horshoe pits, there's only one pole. There is a restroom building, but I can't speak to the cleanliness of it because it was locked for the winter. There's also a water fountain, but it to was turned off. I assume, for the winter. This park would be a perfect place for a quiet family get together, or a pick up game of softball, basketball or kickball. Perhaps us yelpers should use this location for our next kickball UYE.
