I haven't been to McNeely in a while, probably since I was a kid but we have recently started going…read moreagain and it's definitely been enhanced! There are plenty of spots for fishing but some of them you will need to take a short hike down a gravel road. If you bring a wagon make sure it has bigger wheels but probably best to carry everything to make it easier. There is a fishing dock as well that's pretty big and most definitely is shareable with a few groups. The hiking trail that extends around to the dam is a fun walk since it goes in and out of wooded covering. Makes it great for sunny days as well. The playground is nice and maybe small to moderate size. There are BBQ stands to use and picnic tables. There are bathrooms but not very quick to get to from most parts of the park so keep that in mind. Great place to kayak as well! Great views and since the lake is narrow it makes it feel more like a river to go through. Super fun place! Glad to see them doing more work on it Only criticism is that there is lots of trash and even though it's the patrons fault, the park could do a better job at cleaning it up. Watch your little ones so they don't pick up pokey fish hooks or broken bottles.

The park itself features a small playground, a full court basketball court and lots of soccer fields. If you follow the concrete path near the parking lot towards the patio area and soccer fields you can follow that path around a short trail that eventually takes you through a gravel paved wooded area that runs along side the soccer fields. It leads back out to the road where it circles back to the blocked off road at the entrance. It's a giant circle. But it's a peaceful and easy trail. Overall solid little park and it's pretty close to my home. So I'll come up here and let the girls play on the playground. It's very rarely crowded. Most of the crowd heads to the larger McNeely Lake Park about 3 miles down the road as it has several massive playgrounds. So a lot of time when we don't want to deal with bit crowds I'll make the short trip here and let the girls run wild and blow off energy.

Attended the Progress Park open house this evening. What an outstanding event venue with…read moreairstream trailers and house/cottage overnight accommodations. The property is well laid out and tonights event was so well coordinated. There is a huge indoor event space, a very large outdoor covered pavilion, small lakes with fountains, trails connecting the individual airatream trailers, numerous sitting areas, fire pits. You can rent an individual airstream trailer, a house/cabin, or I assume the entire property if you were having a huge event with out of town guests. The event space allows for your own vendors but at the open house their favorite vendors to work with were on site offering samples of there services, drinks, food. They had a smores bar set up with a great fire pit and all the accessories needed to roast a perfect marshmallow for your smore. Kayaks are situated around the property for use by guests. Each airstream has it's own covered sitting area with a fire pit and comfortable outdoor seating. Lovely interior airstreams, modern and fully equipped. Just an all around lovely space. A great idea for a family gathering or girls trip.

Progress Park is the best hidden secret right in the middle of Louisville…read more The park isn't massive but it's big enough to do so many things! Pond for fishing and kayaking, huge chess board, huge connect four, covered pickle ball court, volley ball, shuffle board and more! We have stayed at two different air streams and both have been very nice and roomy! There are outdoor grills to use and camp fires for each area. It's wild how you basically go from an industrial park directly to feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere camp. It's awesome! Best part is, if you forget something, there are so many stores within a few minutes. Highly recommended!

Yes if your need to be some where at a certain time you should know you will most likely have to paddle your self down river two hours is a base line quick trip some One paddling. If you don't desire to paddle then you will be at the boats wave zone . So no paddling going to be more like 3.5 hour to 4 hour this is for a Lazy river meaning no waves no paddling. The more you paddle the faster you're gonna finish. Kids could enjoy this but there is no swimming just floating. You can bring a cooler and snack to but it's in the water and hot so phone I wouldn't recommend either cause iPhone might say tempo to hot needs to cool down. Just think about how much you want to have fun and think about how your kid or children may act or get scared don't make water not fun. Have a relaxing day with this team and enjoy a float
