This Christmas tree farm is absolutely amazing…read more The whole operation is well thought through. From the moment we walked up we were treated great!!! All the attendants and helpers were so kind and helpful. We followed the crowd to the spot where the tractor picks up customers (this is a very basic tractor wagon pull but it is slow so it didn't feel dangerous) dogs and humans alike piled up and we were on our way to the tree fields! We came with our two pups this year to help pick the perfect tree. We walked around for a litttle while examining allll the trees- white pine and blue spruce. Flat rate for each $100 for while pine which has longer needles that kind of fluff out at the ends and blue spruce that has smaller needles and looks like a "classic" tree. Last year around this time- we visited another Christmas tree farm and all the trees were gone and online younger smaller trees were left.....but here there was simply more space to grow trees and fields full still to pick from! We forgot to bring our own axe or electric chainsaw so we were able to borrow one from another guest. They did hang out simple band chainsaws but in our excitement we forgot to grab one before hopping on the wagon. We found 2 trees we really loved and opted for a shorter more robust white pine :) it was very healthy and sappy and we all loved it! Certainly requires some strong arms so please keep that in mind. We piled the tree on the wagon and hopped on to head back to the area where attendants helped us shake out the dry needles and wrap the tree to make it easily transportable. This whole experience was beyond a dream- so convenient with helpful hands to guide us through the process. BEAUTIFUL healthy trees, and complimentary hot mulled cider! This will be our new spot for our annual tradition from now on!! They also do pumpkins! I noticed a lot of families with matching pjs so it's a perfect opportunity for a good photoshoot and family memories! The farm itself is gorgeous and has a good view of the mountains, hence the name. They sell their trees by the type, rather than by the height which is a great idea. They have a wide variety of trees, ranging from scotch pine, douglas fir, blue spruce, and two different types of cypresses (blue ice and shenandoah emerald). Our scotch pine was about 9 feet tall and was only $32. There is a good selection of wreaths (approx. $23-$34) and some handmade ornaments. If you are indecisive like me, leave plenty of time to wander around and pick out the perfect tree. They also shake the tree (takes off the loose needles) and bag it for free.

The property is huge, and we did find a decent tree, but the selection of Fraser Firs was very meager. Most of what they had growing in the field were scraggly or very small. Not what you would expect, for the No. 1 most popular Christmas tree variety in the country. Also, the Fraser's have very sharp needles, not like the ones you get pre-cut from most big box stores. I'm talking sharp, as in, they hurt when you touch them. So, not sure what's going on there. They had plenty of Douglas Firs, and other less popular types. The other negative is that this farm is located far away from any commerical areas, and they had NO bathroom facilities. No port-a-jons, nothing. Not good. It's a family business, so the employees live on the property, and can use there own homes. But customers are on their own. :( On the positive side, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and they had plenty of pre-cut Fraser Firs, which looked very nice, and lots of wreaths, and other Christmas decorations. So, if you are local, and not seeking the u-choose/u-cut experience, this is a good option.
