Not only is the coach a Marine veteran like myself. He also is a serious Jiu-Jitsu competitor! I could not believe my luck in finding this place in such a small town in Southern Utah. On a more serious note I had two rods put in my back years before finding Patriot and I wasn't sure I would be able to train. Coach Dwight gave me exercises that helped me eliminate pain and continue to train regularly. He also modified exercises for me when necessary so that I could get the training I needed. I was impressed with…read morehow Professor Mike (or Coach...not sure how the kids addressed him) ran the class, from the type of circuit drills for warm up to the way they assimilate all of the different aspects of a competition, it was great to watch the kids passionately support one another. The academy itself is really clean and there is a lot of parking. They have ample mat space as well as a lot of seating with a couple of couches and a wall of chairs to spectate from. The dressing rooms are also separated from the restroom. It was a great first impression, my nephew has been with this academy for some time now and enjoys it here.
