This was a fun & delicious find in Forsyth, Montana during our roadtrip back home to Las Vegas…read moreafter time in Fargo & rural North Dakota. Not knowing what to expect for food options in Forsyth we were pleasantly surprised by this gem of a restaurant. After passing the town elementary & middle school we curved along a narrow dirt road & spotted a big repair-garage type building in the distance. Noticing the sign stating Six Gun Pizza we realized we were at the right place, so drove further along to park in front of the building. Opening up the regular size door that was near the huge repair-garage door, we noticed how packed the restaurant was with people. Second we observed the framed Western photos, including of John Wayne, decorating the walls. Already a positive experience environment-wise, we were pleased with the food. From the fab pizza - made using from scratch pizza dough, Italian olive oil & a stone pizza oven - to the chicken alfredo, our bellies were happy & full from our delicious meal. Had the chicken premier and it's unique (and great tasting) white sauce! The standouts were the veggies (white onions, green peppers, etc.) we're crisp! FIRST TIME EVER FOR THAT! For years the Big Horn Pizza Mercantile Pizza has been our families go to for deliciously consistent pizza and something we have always counted on! I just remembered there was an another time after we decided to take a break a long break from them... we had come down the mountain with friends late one evening and because of the time went ahead and stopped in for pizza. What a mistake. We spent money on brew while we waited. It took them over 1 hour to get 1of 2 pizzas on the table and somehow they forgot the other pizza. Our friends had to wait another 25 min. for their order. Hungry, tired, and regret of the situation. I wish the owner would take notice and go back to what this establishment had done for many years and what gave it such a great reputation. I sincerely hope they resume the previous way and make their customers happy again by going back to their original way of doing pizza. Back to when their pizza really was the best! And also, the previous manager was very pleasant, ran a good crew, and always made excellent pizza.
