We had hoped to be able to lift the whole thing a few inches, but had no idea how. Enter Eliot from Applicare. He pondered the situation, consulted a printout of the manufacturer's docs, and discussed with us. The conclusion was that we could probably just eliminate the canopy and retain the key functionality of the hood. 90 minutes of hard work ensued, mostly by him, but ably assisted by my wife and (occasionally) me, and it was done! The charge was entirely reasonable, and we'd be happy to engage him again. And he's a character!

He was very nice, very competent, and explained that the filter was clogged, and the hose to the sink was out of position. The bill was only $94, and the dishwasher works beautifully now. LG company told me to call him back the next day so I did. I proceeded to tell him that it never worked after he left and asked him if he ran any diagnostics on it. He became so RUDE!! Telling me how dare I question what he did! I said he didn't have to start getting so rude and proceeded to tell me that I was being rude!! And yelling at me while he was telling me. He said " you're questioning me on how to fix the refrigerator? CALL LG" and hung up. So now not only do I have a none working brand new refrigerator but I don't have anyone to put in a report to get this refrigerator replaced bc that's all he would've had to do or come back and fix it. He didn't even need to come back out to look at it again if he really didn't want to ( just put a report in that it's unfixable). I tried to call him back and he LET it go to voicemail so I said " all your reviews are true and you're a nasty a-hole just as all the reviews state". NEVER CALL THIS COMPANY!! And if LG says to use this guy, tell them to find another company to fix your appliance.
