Went to Julie their injector for Botox for my Migraines. It works wonders and last for about three months. Great experience!

Full blow disfigured. The entire R side of my face is drooping due to Botox hitting a muscle over my right brow, causing the right side of my face to droop and again at the jawline diminishing my jaw line (as the Kybella model - I take pride in). This was verified by another injector and a Chief of Plastic Surgery. The staff has a listening problem-I told them repeatedly that I tend to get a low brow, that the last injector told me to never do my forehead again and they insisted saying it would give me a lift. They also recommended the eye cream $120. I recognized the brand and told them I had a full blown allergic reaction to that product as a body cream. They insisted I try it anyway. Again I had painful, itchy, scabbed rash that has scarred my torso. I don't recommend. LISTENING to their patients is an area for improvement. read more

I went in for two sore spots - one on my head and another on my face. Dr. Maughan biopsied the head one but said my appointment wasn't long enough to look at the one on my face which was right in front of her. I was concerned and went to another dermatologist who was upset the face one was ignored as it was obvious cancer. I now have surgery scheduled with the new doctor to get the cancer on my face removed. Highly recommend Northern Utah Dermatology for helping me! read more

Read all the way through.. AMAZING DOCTOR, awesome front desk, my issue is not having insurance, I am a student, and told them all this and they didn't help me at all with the price. I ended up having an allergic reaction to Neosporin, wasn't in the actual doctors office long at all, but was charged 190 dollars. Which from the initial quote I was given was 75-190 depending on what is needed to be done. Granted they did tell me when I got there I was misquoted and the cheapest it would be since I'm a new patient is 130. However seeing how they misquoted and it ended up being a minor amount of their time I'm confused why I was charged so much. Still if you have good insurance the doctor and front desk people are lovely so they get a 3 from me. read more

Dr. Maughan was thorough. My complaint is that the charge was fully 100% more expensive than my previous dermatologist in Draper, UT for the same type of visit and procedure. $236 for an office visit at Wasatch Dermatology! 6 months ago, before a move to Ogden, the same visit was $125 in Draper. At that appointment, I also had a lesion burned from off my face and was charged $70. Dr. Maughan charged $159 for one lesion burned off. My intuition from first meeting Dr. Maughan is that she is all about money. I was correct. She refused to address a question about a small rash during a mole check saying that would have to be addressed in a separate office visit. Bad Form All Around. Not worth the money when compared with other facilities and medical care. I will never recommend her and will steer others clear of this outrageous facility. read more

Super helpful. I have been going to Dr. Maughan for about 9 years. She has done everything from removal of warts to biopsies of possible skin cancers. Her staff has always treated me well and she has never made me feel rushed. Recently I have undergone several Coolsculpt treatments and they have taken several inches off my waistline. :) The Dr is always very informative and has explained things in a way that I can understand. She also seems to be very current on the best and newest ways to cure or handle things. read more

I'm a 60 year old man with the skin of a teenager. By that I mean, it's not young, youthful and smooth, but rather, if I don't take antibiotics, I break out in acne like a pubescent teenager. I had been a patient of her father for over 35 years, staying with his practice through his moves from office facility to office facility throughout the years. When he retired I decided to keep my business with the clinic and become a patient of Dr Julie Maughan. Obviously, she was determined to be out on her own and make her own mark, not be under his shadow anymore; fair enough. New building in a new location, etc. My first visit with her, this became immediately apparent as a was promptly asked how long I had been on the medication I was taking, Amoxicillin. When I told her it had been years I was told they would not renew that RX. I would no longer be able to take the medicine for fear of contributing to antibiotic resistant super bugs. OK, again, fair enough. I was then told that because of my age and the location of my acne that unfortunately, I was limited in my choice of medications available to treat me. This was even though the Amoxicillin worked just fine for me for years. (by the way, as far as antibiotic resistant super bugs; myself, I've never been healthier, having not missed a day of work in over 8 years) I know it's more complicated than that, but whatever. The end result was that in their opinion there was only one medicine that was worth trying. The hitch, instead of $9 a month for the amoxicillin, it was almost two hundred dollars a month and was only available at a special dermatological pharmacy 70 miles away from where I live. When I complained about the cost the reply was "Well, don't you have insurance?". Really, are you kidding me? Well, yes, I have insurance but my out of pocket just went from $9 to $35 and now my insurance company and hence, my employers, mine, and everybody's costs, went up. I have real heartburn with rewarding a greedy pharmaceutical company with my business by paying hundreds when a $9 medicine did the job. After using the medicine for a while it was clear it does not work as well, I now break out on my neck, behind my ears and on my scalp, when I never did before. After my first year it was time for my yearly visit and an RX renewal. While there I mentioned that I thought I had developed a small, slight fungal infection on my forehead. She looked at it, didn't do a culture, and told me she thought it was precancerous and recommended a treatment called blue light treatment. Blue light treatment is used to treat actinic keratoses, sometimes referred to as solar keratoses. I'm not a doctor but I know people that have that and this is not what I was experiencing. I declined and after a couple of months my symptoms went away without the expensive treatments. Today was the final straw. My second year has now gone by and once again it's time for my yearly checkup and RX renewal. I went to get my medicine one morning this week and realized I had used my last one and had not gotten a refill. My bad. I had one refill left on my prescription but the year had lapsed, by one day. Yes, it was the 26th and the last day for me to get my last refill was the 25th. Not too bad of a situation, I thought, my wife works in the pharmacy where I fill my prescriptions, they call doctors all the time and get a month refill till the patient can get in to see their doctor. I went without my medicine that day and the next day she goes to work and phones in the request to the doctor. I got off work today and before I call the doctors office to schedule an appointment I called my wife to see if Dr. Maughan had called back with a small refill; she had not. I called Dr. Maughan to schedule an appointment. I mention to Colleen, the office person that helped me with my appointment, that I was out of medicine, she was able to find a cancellation and get me an appointment in a week. I then told Colleen that my pharmacy had called two days ago and requested a short refill until I could see the doctor and asked if I could have an RX for 7 pills until I could get in. She informed me that no, I could not, it was against Dr. Maughan's policy. What? Are you kidding me? This is an antibiotic acne medicine, not a controlled substance! I had been a patient of the clinic for over 35 years and needed 7 days worth to hold me over till I could get in to see the doctor and they would not do that for me because it was not her policy. I cannot believe that she is willing to let one of her patients go a week, or more, without their medicine, an antibiotic, mind you. Thank heavens I did not have to wait weeks for an appointment. I just read other reviews for her and she has a habit of not approving RX refills, even when available, unless seen by her. A way to pad her pocket and cost the patient time and money. I have had enough, I'm shopping for a new doctor. read more
