I got the best haircut of my life from Thea and I'm coming back in today to have her touch it up. But I don't even really need to because it's grown out in a really cool way. I trust her entirely with my hair. 10/10 recommended if you don't know what to do with your hair, but you have big hair dreams that you just can't seem to figure out. She'll figure it out for you, with you. I also don't have to dye my hair as often because she cut it in a way that the roots are hidden for longer. Don't know how, she might be a wizard or something. I just give her a few pictures of hair I like and tell her what I don't like and she translates it to fit my face and hair texture. The first time I worked with her I was so fed up with my hair always being tangled and flat and boring that I told her to just do whatever she thought would look nice and would be relatively easy to style in the morning and it was amazing. Another time I went in and liked it, but when I caught my reflection a few blocks away I wished it was shorter and more dramatic, she let me come right back in so that I would be 100% happy and I left with exactly what I wanted. Last time I went I was wanting a big change (bangs and a mullet) but that's so easy to look so bad and I have such a round face I was nervous I would look like a giant baby or Joe Dirt. I asked if it could be done at all and trusted that she would tell me if I didn't have the face or texture for it. She got to work with that razor and turned it out. It looked so cool. Mero Mero is an amazing salon that deserves more buzz! Consider yourself lucky if you're one of the first to discover this new, hidden gem of a salon in Highland Park. The girls working at there are all very nice and give off the relaxed kind of vibe that you want to feel when getting your hair done. The overall atmosphere of the salon is clean, modern, and welcoming with good music and ample space between their chairs to feel some privacy with your stylist. They also use great products when washing/styling your hair that leaves it incredibly soft and shiny. I discovered Mero Mero when my stylist, Ashley, moved to their salon from the one I previously saw her at. I cannot sing my praises of Ashley high enough and would truly follow her to any salon, as her expertise is unmatched. I have very thick, wavy hair that can be difficult for stylists to manage, and before finding Ashley, I thought I might never find anyone who would be able to color it well. I had an awesome stylist I saw across the country in college, but after moving to CA, I struggled to find someone new that did as good of a job as her. After 3 mediocre stylists and 1 who completely ruined my hair, I was lucky enough to cross paths with Ashley. She is the only person who has measured up to my old hairdresser, and she also helped me fix a cut-and-color-gone-wrong, which was a big undertaking (from dark brunette with no dimension, to light brown with balayage). Ashley is patient, understanding, fun to talk to, and really takes the time to understand what you're looking for. She takes a cautious, expert, caring approach to color to make sure that your hair stays healthy in the process of getting you to where you want to be. She somehow was able to mix color that perfectly matched my roots on her first try, which really speaks to her talent and experience. Ashley has the highest of my recommendations to anyone looking for a new stylist, especially if balayage is something that you are interested in. Even if I move out of LA, I will always see Ashley as long as I am in driving distance (no matter how far!). She is my hair hero and I am so lucky to have found her! It was really really expensive but i don't feel it was worth it at all. Additionally, I feel like i was improperly charged for what was done to my hair based of their website service prices vs what i had received in terms of services. I'm also just really unsatisfied with how my hair came out overall. It looks like everything i showed examples of what i did not want. Feel like my hair is ruined sadly.
