Our guide was well informed and we learned about the many unique German customs families kept in 18th century Washington County. It was a cold day and the house was not warm, but we weren't surprised. We all live in old houses ourselves. They're drafty! This is a gem of a museum right next door to our crown jewel, the Wash. Co. Museum of Fine Arts in the City Park.

The theater itself is very classic and old fashioned with a balcony and box seats on either side of the stage. I've visited this theater since childhood and it's always a treat. I highly recommend visiting for a show if you're in the area.

It was way too cold to go outside, but this museum is next to a lake in a park area that would admit of some walking during the summer. Despite the limited selection, I found a compelling suite of Americana and a nice atrium and event space in the middle of the museum. There were some pieces worthy of thought, and I rather wished I'd been in to see the visiting exhibition. Having said that, for a community the size of Hagerstown to have a building that looks this nice, is free, and has quality art is a great resource.

The Museum also exhibits the art of local students each year, which is always a treat. In my opinion this is a good spot for smaller kids, aged 2 -5. Has a small gift shop. Ample parking, accepts visa and master card.

Super with adults and kids alike, what a nice tour of aviation throughout the years. Fairchild was located here, and yes that one with the A10 and more. Guess what will be displayed here this summer? Can't wait as want to see this classic beast of a plane! The displays are done with love. Aviation history lives here. The main hangar is nice, but loved the two with 1950s and up cargo planes. Some of the neat features displayed by the staff, still smiling learning so much new information. Next to Hagerstown Regional Airport, family friendly and will be back. My son and I greatly enjoyed this wonderful experience, and all should visit here to see, walk through, and experience aircraft like never before!

I took my parents to a Beethoven concert at the Maryland Theater on Mother's Day and we had a great…read moretime! One hour before the concert, there was a free (30 minute) presentation where the director of music and the pianist told us about the pieces that we would be hearing so that we could appreciate them more. The Maryland Theater is very beautiful and we looked around during intermission. There didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house! The Maryland Symphony also performs at Antietam National Battlefield usually on the first Saturday in July. I've gone to this for many years and it's always worth thelong walk to the field from parking (a shuttle service is also available). They play lots of patriotic music and always end with the 1812 Overture, Stars and Stripes Forever and fireworks!

I was so happy to learn the gallery did have the artist's work available, and the owner Eileen was so gracious to email me photos. I couldn't wait to visit. A visit I anticipated would only be a couple of hours, turned into about six! My breath was taken away by the sight of all the ORIGINAL Black art... wall-to-wall, framed and unframed, on the shelves, in sleeves, on canvas, on paper, different mediums... paintings, sculptures, quilts... by artists national and international. I've never experienced anything like it! And as if the art isn't enough, Eileen, is so engaging and a pleasure to get to know. Her knowledge of the Black art industry is incredible. I encourage all collectors living-in or traveling-to the DMV to visit this humble jewel of a gallery; the website doesn't do it any justice! It's certainly worth the trip.
