My mom passed away this January, and luckily our family had purchased burial spaces for my parents here many years ago through their Chinese association. The group rate made the price more reasonable, and having the space arranged ahead of time made a difficult situation a little easier for our family. The burial service itself was quick and respectful, which we really appreciated during such an emotional time. One thing I didn't like is that if you purchase the burial space here, you are required to order the tombstone through them. Because of that, we couldn't arrange everything through the funeral home like we originally planned. One positive thing is that if you don't speak English, they do have Asian staff available to help, which makes communication easier for many families. Overall, planning ahead did help reduce some stress when the time came. Lack of respect, especially if you fall under a certain demographic, landscaping is atrocious, unkept grass and grave markers, disrespect for the the grave markers & buried souls, no customer service, and perhaps most worrisome - someone else had their loved one buried in the wrong spot, while for me it was that they buried someone in a spot I purchased years ago. They never compensated me for that error - and I let it be thinking it was a "one and done" mistake, but based on another review, this seems to be something they do. How do you bury someone in the wrong spot? How do you bury someone in a previously purchased spot? Or does that only happen if you fall under a certain demographic? My review from another platform: Feels kind of "weird" rating a cemetery - but after traveling over 40 miles to see a recently departed soul, I spent over an hour trying to locate their burial spot. Why? Because there was no temporary name plate on their grave, and there are no numbered graves to the left or right of the person. I could not even tell where I was. They have no maps on the outside of the building to help visitors. Apparently, the only maps they have are on the inside, so you must visit during office hours -- but how is that feasible for working individuals, or people who can only visit on Sunday? Their sections are not identifiable either -- there should be signs for each section (Ex: Grant, Cleveland, etc.). So after traveling +80 miles, I ended up saying my goodbyes on my own. The office states they cannot put down the temp markers because they get in the way of the landscapers -- what landscapers? The sections I have visited are always poorly maintained. No fresh grass, massive tractor tire marks over graves, dry and dead landscape. I won't even mention how they buried someone else in a plot I purchased years ago.....lucky for them, I did not cause a ruckus over such a massive oversight. I did not have the heart to have the person they buried exhumed and moved. Truthfully, they have never been helpful in all these years, and now I have 1 more reason to say they are less than sub-par. read more

I would have given 4 stars for this Cemetery however I feel they currently deserve 2 stars because in the Muslim Section of the Cemetery I have requested since July of 2019 and another request made on January of 2020 and one just a month or so ago to put in fresh grass or place in grass seeds for select plots that have no grass growing on it and looking horrible. I was never told No they won't do it , the people working there are nice and courteous however being nice is one thing and getting your workers to place in simple grass or seeds is another. Hence the reason behind my rating. I will update my rating once they have completed placing in the fresh grass. read more

My parents choose them without any help from their kids so we're stuck with them. We requested written documentation and details but got phone calls and texts instead. Our sales rep sent short emails from a non-descriptive gmail account which seems suspect and unprofessional. They have consistently destroyed my property . My moms grave marker was destroyed by their mowers constantly mowing over it till one day they completely destroyed it. I go today to find someone stole her granite grave marker that the plaque was on . When do they keep your loved ones last resting place sacred? For NYCers this cemetery is a great option to the expensive plots close to the city or distance sites in south New Jersey. The cost is around 1/8 of prices I have seen inside NYC. The management is helpful and the maintenance crew does a great job. The distance is 65 miles from Canal St. Manhattan to Canal Road Mt. Sinai L.I.; BUT it is one highway and NO tolls compare to South NJ or North White Plains. This memorial park is worth looking it to for the future. There is a sale & admin office with helpful staff on site; do call ahead. read more

I would genuinely give this place zero stars if I could. Staff here were extremely rude, very condescending, and had zero compassion! My beloved aunt passed away (May she be forgiven for her sins and be granted into the highest Jannah) on Friday and we had the service on Saturday. While we arrived a half hour late due to traffic they charged us an hour late fee. The paperwork on their end was incorrect and when I asked for a correction the staff gave a lot of pushback as they felt the error was on the "funeral home". Eventually they corrected it but they were extremely challenging while we were still in mourning. They are extremely pushy about purchasing a grave marker for them. It feels like you dealing with a stereotypical salesperson. As I shared with Christina I was thinking of using an outside vendor it was very obvious this was troublesome to their staff. Today, I called to request a letter for myself and my husband as our employers have requested the documents. They said they cannot provide it. I then challenged them as we were in the main office dealing with the paperwork correction and that they had proof that we were there. They finally acquiesced to providing a document for me given my signature on the documents during the day of the burial but refused one for my husband. Veriana--was extremely aggressive and disrespectful to me on the phone and continuously spoke over me. When I accused her of being Islamophobic, she states that that is completely untrue which I find to be a joke. People like her would never talk over/down to white people. They save that kind of behavior for people of color and immigrants. My dad shared with me that the cemetery previously buried a Muslim decedent in the wrong plot and had to pay off an undisclosed sum for the error. Since then the cemetery has been extremely horrid to work with for Muslim families. I assured them that I would never give them any more business and I would certainly share my experience. It has only been 4 days since my aunts service and I am disgusted by these people who are supposed to be people you can count on during grieving. Abhorrent Long Island Karen behavior. On the morning of my beloved mothers final resting place, our entire family was horrified with the treatment of my mother's casket as she entered her crypt. The disheveled appearance and dirty clothes of the 2 men that literally shoved my mother's casket so hard into the crypt that we could hear it hit the back of the wall! This was so disturbing and I'm still having nightmares! SHAME ON THE MANAGEMENT!!! If that wasn't bad enough, they could get the stone to fit and with again, excessive force and banging proceeded to clear the room of mourning family members. I am not sure what happened to this places management over the years. Last 2 years I have gone the workers drive trucks over the grass to take a shortcut path. They keep going over grass instead of the concrete area. I have seen them doing this and recorded it on my phone. It costs maybe 5 extra seconds to drive the truck over the concrete road and not take the shortcut over the grass/headstones. Completely disrespectful. I told management and all they did is give me an attitude and tell me "workers have to work". Working is different than driving over the grass for a shortcut path. 2. Must be hard to find people that want to work here. This year a worker passed away while trying to dig a grave (literally buried alive while trying to dig a grave). It's a clean spacious cemetery. Modern looking. It's on flat land. It's very quiet and serene. Nothing surrounding it, just the beautiful sky. It's very clean and peaceful. I was told they do not cooperate with the brokers and i had to request in writing my wish to sell. only then would board decide whether to buy it from me or make me sell it on my own. Yes over the 4 decades the lawn wasnt perfect, the weather not perfect, the sun not always shining although we are at peace here in a beautiful park like Long Island atmosphere that allows my families and friends spirits to be at rest. I lost a dear friend in April and it Was a very good experience they accommodated to us very well and I want to thank them

It has been 3 years since my parents were buried at this cemetery. There has never been a blade of new grass over their burial site. Previously we were told that it was due to the pandemic (although that did not seem accurate considering it is an outdoor activity) and now that is a very poor excuse. My parents bought plots at your facility because they had family there and thought the facility took good care of the plots. Apparently this is not the case now. When our family was going through the process of our grief we were told that everything would be done to keep the plots in pristine condition. Unfortunately the only thing we have noticed is that they remove any flowers or memorial flags asap even before they do not look the best! It has now been 3 years tomorrow and nothing has been done to make sure the graves at least have some grass growing. What a shame and very depressing for family who visit often. read more

I want to say that it looks like they keep up their grounds and good people just like they did when I worked there. There is a question I do have. Back in the 60's the director was a man named Sonny Campbell, who I was a drummer for in his Country & Western Band. I since moved to Texas, I have been trying to find him just to see if he is still around. First here are the facts: My mother passed away in August 2014. We requested a headstone with etching in mid August. We were promised a drawing sketch of the Chinese characters that are to be carved into a bronze plate that's to be put into the stone and the time frame would be 3 months. I have been patiently waiting for this sketch drawing and it's now December. We are still waiting. Because we already prepaid for the stone and bronze etching, I feel that it's one of those "gotcha moments", where they place you on a low priority list since they have your money. I called Raymond the sales guy who sold us the stone and all I get is that he's on a personal trip to his country. So, this means that no one is covering for him during his absence? This is totally unacceptable. I can't believe that they would run a business like this. My mother deserves to have a headstone by now since it's 4 months since her death. While the cemetery is very nicely kept, I am sadly disappointed in their lack of service on top of my already depressed state of mind. I hate writing bad reviews, but this is personal now. read more

Without those people working here i would have never found out where my father in law is buried. I am more than thankful to have called them. This is a cemetery where all kind of people were buried, despite of their heritage and religion. I am thankful that people can actually come here and have a nice and quiet time with their loved ones who they have lost.
