The MAX red line originates here and goes thru downtown Portland and finishes its run at PDX. There are many bus lines that start/ finish here including numbers 20, 52, 54, 57, 76, 78 and possibly others. The WES Commuter Train starts/ finishes here. There is a bike area and a small parking area for pick up and drop off. There isn't a park and ride lot though. The Beaverton Transit Center is a fairly large area and has lots of seating areas, some covered and some shaded by trees. There is a snack bar with limited hours. Many businesses are a very short walk from here including Starbucks, Freddies, TJMaxx, Big 5 and HomeGoods. So this location always has a lot of foot traffic. TriMet does an outstanding job keeping this place safe and clean.

This was my first ride on the WES train. Pretty impressive overall. They really should run it all…read morethe way to Salem but that's another conversation. The older I get the less I want to drive especially after dark during these cold, wet months. I grew up in Boston where using public transportation is the norm. Trimet used to be absolutely terrible and in many ways they are still not all that great. Two snowflakes sends the entire system into chaos. It's common to be on a bus and get kicked off to another bus for no apparent reason. And the bus you are waiting for will show up and immediately change signs for some other route. In most cities, this NEVER happens. You stand at an intersection easy walking distance from your home and in ten minutes or less a bus comes along. The bus takes you to a subway stop or a bus terminal where you can transfer to your final destination. Routes are laid out in a logical order and you don't have to study a map to figure out what bus to take to get where you're going. Trimet routes appear to be laid out by lunatics who were way too free with drug use. Getting back to WES and the Tigard TC. Nice terminal. It's open air so not that pleasant if it's really cold out. But at least it's a shelter. The WES train is pretty noisy but comfortable and FAST! Under 15 minutes to get to my destination. Would have taken over an hour going by bus. WES runs fairly frequently. I wish it didn't stop running to Beaverton so early but it is what it is. Ridership isn't that great so that route is probably a money loser. I'm happy that Trimet is finally upping their game. There's still the obligatory mentally ill rider on every bus and train so they have more work to do there. And there was some aggressive antifa type swinging around numchuks in a threatening manner at the Sunset TC so your personal safety is still a serious concern. But I'm seeing more security and fare inspectors so at least Trimet is trying.

Sometimes emergencies or rush situations happen and scheduling medical transport with wheelchair capability can be a serious hassle since most transport requires advanced scheduling and planning. COMPARISONS - Sadly many insurance don't cover non-emergency medical transport. Getting old isn't cheap and medical transport isn't either, compared to other similar services ANEMT rates are average to a little better. MetroWest transport is the most popular and great, but they are constantly booked at least 1-2 days out or 5-10 hours for same day. MetroWest also has stair capable wheelchairs and stretchers by request and door to door service. TriMet offers basic medical transport for fairly cheap via shuttle, but they don't offer door to door so you'll need someone to push if the chair isn't motorized and electric. Uber and Lyft have wheelchair capable vehicles, but again, no door to door service and requires advanced scheduling. Interestingly Kaiser Washington State insurance covers non-emergency transport, but not in Oregon. Above and beyond - Along with being able to respond quickly with door to door service, they helped with transferring inside the home to and from the wheelchair. Aways super nice and friendly guys. Easy pay via credit card through a tex message link or over the phone. Have questions, be sure to ask, they are very helpful and accommodating. He was very helpful in setting up my schedule. After the times were nailed down, I felt confident that he would take care of me. A couple weeks after making my schedule, I needed to change the time: no problem! I was picked up right on time, the driver was very nice, opened my door and took my bags. Told me where I'd be picked up, but I didn't quite know what he was talking about, lol! (the airport is a lot different from the last time I went there.) On the way back, Sam contacted me with a courtesy reminder while I was still in transit. I was very grateful for the reminder as I was totally exhausted. I asked at that time, "if i can get an earlier flight, will that work for you?" he says, "yes." **PLEASE NOTE: Twice I've made a plan and later asked to change it; the second time, my request was last minute. Both times, they were on board with whatever I wanted to do. Upon arrival, Sam gave me instructions on where to meet my driver. He was right there...NO WAITING, no wondering if this was my guy. The gentlemen we had were friendly and took care of all of our luggage. The company has great communication. We were scheduled to be picked up at 4:45am but at around 9pm the night before I started getting nervous that we should leave a few minutes earlier, so I sent them an email asking if we could leave at 4:30am instead, really not expecting anyone to respond in time. They actually emailed me back within 10 minutes and confirmed the earlier pick-up time. Then, our return flight landed at PDX (an unheard of!) 40 minutes early. As soon as we touched down I texted the number to see if there would be any way someone could come pick us up for 40 minutes earlier than planned, again not necessarily expecting a response - especially since it was close to midnight. However, they texted me back instantly that my driver would be in touch with me soon, and sure enough our driver texted me within a few minutes. By the time we grabbed our suitcases off of the conveyor and walked a few minutes to the curb, our driver was already there and waiting despite us being 40 minutes early - and, again, it was close to midnight on a Wednesday. The choice was an Uber, which would not have worked for our situation, or a luxury car service. Hewar was wonderful from when I first called him to arrange our trip. He was attentive and patient, even when I called him multiple times with questions. The manager, Rasheem, met us at baggage claim. Our driver, Zhieco, was professional and friendly. He helped us get our (very heavy) luggage into the hotel. On the other hand, the company I called first did not give me a chance to explain why we needed help at baggage claim. As soon as he heard that, he immediately said he couldn't help me. He threatened to post my phone number online when I wrote him a one-star review. I was shocked. I would've taken it down, regardless, because I don't post bad reviews. So, I was especially glad to talk with Hewar on my second phone call. I highly recommend Elite. If I ever need a service like this again, I will for sure call Hewar.

The WES Commuter Train runs Monday thru Friday only. There is no service on Saturday or Sunday. So…read moreif you're a commuter who works on the weekends you will need to find another way to get to work. The train runs between Beaverton and Wilsonville with three stops in between. It only runs during commute times. The trains are very comfortable with nice cushioned seating. There is even a steward on board. I've never experienced any problems with delays but it can happen because the WES train shares the freight tracks. My only issue with the WES is that it doesn't run often enough and on weekends.

Trains are already late, and as my husband was walking up the ramp to catch the train home, the train LEAVES. Train didn't even stay for more than a minute at the platform.
