Daniel, who owns and operates Yonder Sky, picked us up at our hotel and we traveled with 5 others (total of 7 passengers) in a comfortable Mercedes van. Our first rest stop was 1 hour away, where he offered us delicious breakfast pastries and a surprisingly broad selection of beverages! We then traveled another hour to Mt. Rainier (all of this time flew by because of the great conversations we were having). Daniel took us to several different spots, including many waterfalls and into the old growth forest with a brief, guided walk. Our stop at Paradise was flexible, we could either follow him and hike to Myrtle Falls and get a closer view of Mt. Rainier, or spend the time however we liked. We ate a picnic-style lunch (chicken, noodle, salad, etc.) at a table in the park, which was great as well. Daniel made sure we were hydrated and really enjoying the trip. After a couple more stops, we headed back towards Seattle and he offered to drop us off at the hotels or wherever else in the area we preferred to continue our trip. This tour was wonderful and definitely one of the highlights during our trip. Daniel was kind, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Everything felt comfortable, like going on a family trip or trip with friends rather than a tour. If you are thinking of booking a day tour, going with Yonder Sky is the way to go. We could not have imagined a better experience of Mt. Rainier!! PS- the views were so breathtaking that my photos look almost unreal, but I promise I took them during the tour!

The wineries varied along with the types of wines, so if you have a preference on wineries or wine I recommend sharing that with Ramon as he is open to suggestions and makes it the best experience possible.

No one else signed up for a tour that day, so my boyfriend and I were the only passengers. We basically has a private tour. Ramon was the driver and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all of the stops where we had anywhere from 3 to 6 tastings. The wines were mostly reds. The lunch stop was Cuban and it was phenomenal. I was incredibly impressed with this authentic restaurant. It was delicious. We ate early, though, around 11:00 am. So, don't have a big breakfast before hand.

We started at a bar near pike place market and tried two small servings of cocktails serving liquors from local distilleries. One was a negroni featuring gin from Copperworks and the other was a Moscow mule using hopped whisky from Three Howls. Next we drove to Copperworks where we got an in depth tour from one of the owners of their beautiful still. We tried four different liquors they make. Pours were pretty generous. Next up we went to another distillery that was also very nice and pleasant and last up was three howls that was awesome. Everyone we met was clearly really passionate about their craft and excited to have us come through. Our tour guide Jason told us a lot about the history and process of washington's distilleries. Id definitely go back on this tour or another with this group.

The tour guide was nice and very accommodating and the distilleries were fun and informative. However, the three distilleries we visited on our tour were each under one year old. So, we didn't get to try any whiskey because whiskey takes 2 years to distill. We tasted one gin at one distillery and the rest were vodka and vodka variations. I was disappointed because I was looking forward to learning about and tasting all three spirits. To make matters worse, two guys inquired about and then joined our tour at the first distillery. My friend watched them the whole time and said they didn't pay. That is not fair for everyone who did pay. I feel like we overpaid, even with the Groupon discount. We got a nice shot glass and t-shirt at the end of the tour, but I don't want to advertise for them. I suggest you forget the tour and visit the distilleries on your own. If you don't have a designated driver, just walk or take public transportation. The samples are pretty small anyway.

We ended up really enjoying the tour and would highly recommend to visitors. This would especially be a great thing to add to your itinerary if you're only in the city for a short time, as you get to see a lot of landmarks in a short time. You also get to hear about the city's history and key industries. The ride overall is pretty smooth, and my husband, who gets motion sickness, was totally fine. The boat when docked can experience a little more motion, however, so your mileage may vary. We also found it easy to get seats with good views, and the guides were easy to hear anywhere on the boat. A lot of it was about the downtown Seattle buildings, Space Needle, buildings and parks by the shore, the sea ports and many other cool facts along the way. I throughly enjoyed the hour long tour. The weather was also fantastic to take stunning pictures of the downtown, the mountains and the port. They also had a bar in second level where they served alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, pop corn and some small snacks. Prices were decent for it being a tourist activity. We liked both popcorn and the strawberry lemonade.
