Had a lovely time here. All around this was an excellent experience. It was my first time here and I'll definitely be back. Alcohol was relatively cheap. About 12 dollars for liquor. 10 for beer. And 10 dollars more or less for hard seltzers. No shots. Staff was just as lovely. Cracking jokes. Checking in. Playing tunes on the speakers. It was a 3ish hour trip. We left at 7pm and returned around 10pm. We got to see Husky stadium lit up. We didn't hit any rough patches of water. There are life jackets in case of emergency but it's a safe cruise. read more

First day went to opposite location as started in a different place. Pushed going home a day. We got lost I called to let them know just about there. Got there right on time and the gal said that we needed a ticket to get on at this time even though the day before they told us we can get the tickets when we get there. We had the city passes. I waited a really long time to use a voucher I had received for the Argosy locks cruise just a little while prior to the pandemic. I had rescheduled this multiple times and had it cancelled due to covid restrictions and closures. I was able to easily reschedule via email once I realized they were open again and everyone that helped me was so nice and made this process super easy. I am so appreciative of this level of assistance. I finally got it booked and managed to enjoy the cruise on a beautiful summer day with high temperatures where the wind from the upper deck was greatly appreciated. Do be forewarned if you are not a fan of the heat and the sun this could be quite warm. Some places are shaded, but inside was very hot. A cool drink will make this better. I've been on this cruise before, but it's been many years. We came on a Sunday and took advantage of nearby free street parking. We opted to park in the middle of the two docks so that we would not need an alternate mode of transportation to get back to our car. Its interesting to me that this is a one way cruise, but that does make sense to me. It gives you a chance to enjoy more of the city on foot if you are visiting from out of town. We opted to stop off for dinner and drinks in Belltown afterwards. Lake Union is beautiful on a summer day and the narration of this tour always teaches me somethign I had forgotten about this city. I love seeing all the people out on the water and waving to the other boats. The locks had been closed to foot visitors for the pandemic so it was nice to experience this via boat after so long. Do be sure to wear sunscreen and bring a hat, maybe one with a string as it sounds like they are known to blow away. Drinks are pricey, but there is a full bar. Some snacks are available. I enjoyed a small popcorn for 3$. I had read that bringing your own drinks was not allowed, but did witness some people with Starbucks. I would have liked to have known if I could bring a bottled water. Masks are currently required when not actively eating or drinking, which was also hard to determine from the website. read more

Ice cream cruise? Yes! Bring your dogs: Sure!! I've been eyeing their Sunday cruises for a whole year. Mainly because it's dog friendly AND it's an ice cream cruise: which my puppy love. And one fine Sunday, we actually made it!! We came for 1 pm ( last week of summer) but ended making it on the 2 pm. It was busy with long lines etc. The vessel itself wasn't that big. A few doggos were on. The galley downstairs was quite small. You can be inside, outside or upstairs. I chose upstairs with my Baci. It was quite hot!! August/September was scorching hot. It was a 40 minutes cruise but felt much longer. Hot for Baci, hot for me. We still walked around the full boat to cool down. But!! Stars way down for the ice cream part!!! It's an ice cream cruise!! And it's dog friendly: bring your dogs they say!! Andd only carry ice cream bars covered in chocolates!! Which dogs are deathly allergic to. So many kids are on the boat too and dropped those ice cream bars left and right. It was epic fail!! They didn't even sell a regular ice cream. I've never wanted to jump off a boat more. It was the only cruise that I counted seconds to end. With the heat and all those melted chocolate covered ice cream bars lying around!! I was not gonna lose my puppy over it. I would like to tell you how our 4th of July cruise was. My husband and I arrived about 7:45pm for an 8pm departure, and immediately saw that there were no available chairs out on the deck. So we went down to the inside of the boat and found no chairs at all...just several tables scattered around the empty. I had to ask the deckhand that chairs for the guests be set out. Some chairs were then brought up for the guests, but there were clearly not enough for everyone. This was scheduled to be a 4-hour cruise and some of the guests had to stand up the entire time. And the the very limited variety of food being offered at (very high prices) I might add was sold out within the first hour of the cruise. We had two small bags of chips for $2.50 EA bag to enjoy between my husband and I for 3 hours!! But the absolute worst thing was the music being played loud enough to cause pain in your ears. My husband and I could not even talk to each other, we had to text back and forth because we could not hear each other AT ALL. The DJ was great in that she kept the party going and played an array of nice dance music, but she just played everything way too loud. We had no way of escaping the bone rattling sound. The views on the cruise were beautiful, but with the never-ending earsplitting music going we could not relax and enjoy the beauty. All of the crew members were very nice and helpful, but totally unprepared for the crowd on this sold-out cruise. The tickets were $150.00 EA, and absolutely nothing was included. Oh and might I add that when everyone went to one side of the boat to view the fireworks the boat was listing to the starboard side, and I was a little too close to the water for my comfort! After I had already purchased tickets on the Argosy "Lady Mary" I saw a similarly advertised 4th of July cruise with Waterways Cruises, and for the same price ($150.00 per ticket) they offered a full array of complimentary appetizers for their guests included in the price of the ticket. 1700! In my last review of Lake Union, I wrote that you should take a cruise on Lake Union at least once in your lifetime. And one of the best options if you don't have a boat of your own is to take an Argosy cruise. Argosy has two different locations. One on the Seattle Waterfront and one at Lake Union. The location for your cruise depends on where you want to go. If you are taking a cruise of South Lake Union and Lake Washington, it would be at the latter location. This summer, I took the Seattle Lake Cruises Tour. It is a two hour cruise with tour commentary that starts at Lake Union and travels by Gas Works Park and UW to reach Lake Washington. Once there, it travels along the northern side of the 520 bridge and heads over to Medina. In Medina, it makes a visit to Bill Gates's home and heads back to Lake Union afterwards. While I have visited many of these places on land, riding on the boat provided a new lense on these attractions. A place like Husky Stadium is nicer photographed from the water for instance. You also learn new things like that there is a wall of graffiti under the Montlake Bridge. Who knew? The boat ride itself was mostly a good ride. It is not as smooth as a ferry so you will feel the up and down motion, especially when the waters are choppy like on the day I took the cruise. There are two seating areas on the lower floor of the boat. In front, there is a bar which you can buy drinks (including alcohol) and snacks. The back part of the boat felt a bit warm so I headed outside several times to feel the water breeze. You can also head upstairs in which there is an open seating area as well as a smaller inside cabin. Though if the water is choppy, you might get wet so beware. Also drinks tend to tip over so keep a handle on your drink when up there. The cruise seems geared towards tourists, but it doesn't mean a local won't find it enjoyable. Even locals will learn a thing or two. I would recommend this cruise to all, but especially to people who have recently moved to Seattle as it is a pleasant way to acquaint yourself with your new home. read more

We did the Sunday Afternoon History Cruise. It was such a nice day to be out on the water with all of the labor day crowds. This hour and a half tour took us around lakeUunion and into lake Washington. We loved seeing the cute floating houses and hearing about the history of them. The onboarding bar was a great addition. Only thing we wish was that the guide had a bit more enthusiasm and info. But we would reccomend this to anyone visiting Seattle. read more

The Lake Union/Lake Washington sightseeing cruise is very educational and fun! The cruise guides know a lot about the history of Seattle and it's always interesting to learn about the city. You'll get to see lots of house boats, floating homes, UW rowing graffiti and of course, Bill Gates' house on Lake Washington. They are also very thoughtful and considerate about the weather and choppy waters. They will inform you beforehand to make sure you know what you're getting into when you hop onto the boat. read more

Very enjoyable Saturday afternoon event. Rode on the boat Goodtime III. Departed Lake Union, rode out through the channel and locks, around the sound and along the Seattle downtown shoreline. Spectacular views and sights from an offshore perspective. Our tour guide who did the play-by-play over the PA system was a gal that did an excellent job. BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! Tour guide: Kevin was our tour guide and he was very entertaining! He delivered the information in a comical manner so it was refreshing and easy to follow along with him. Weather: We went on the 2:45pm tour and it was CHILLY! My boyfriend and I wanted a unobstructed view of the city so we sat on the top deck. Totally worth it. Bar/snacks: We didn't' order anything from the bar or get snacks but they do offer an assortment of snacks and drinks on board. There ARE restrooms on the ship for anyone that is curious about that. We would definitely pay the $27/person fee to go on this if we didn't have the City Pass. read more

I attended a work holiday party earlier this month, and I was surprised at how much they were able to pack onto such a small boat. The staff were polite and helpful as they identified notable locations around the lakes. The food was also delicious and well-prepared. Because I needed to bring our baby, I was able to confirm with the company ahead of time that they could accommodate us. I was quite relieved to hear they are kid-friendly! The infant changing table is not in one of the tiny bathrooms, either, it is on an interior wall near the bathrooms. Something to keep in mind is that you are on a boat - expect to hear the engine, expect cold drafts, expect it to be loud - because it certainly will be. All Gillian jokes aside, this was a unique holiday event. I am glad I decided to attend. read more

However, I was appalled that Argosy Cruises discontinued its transportation bus service back to the pick-up point at their waterfront dock. We were dumped off in the middle of nowhere with no instructions on how to get back into the central city area. The staff was unhelpful and feigned ignorance on how to get back. How about lowering the cost if you discontinued a vital service! They do not care about their guests at all. I will not take this cruise again! read more

I don't recommend the wine tasting cruise at all. There's a chance that some of our misfortune was merely due to weather, but I still think the overall experience was low quality and over priced. The ticketing was really confusing upon arrival, and there were no crew members to greet us until the boat took off. We just stood around in the rain with no idea where to go or line up. When we loaded onto the ship, there was little direction and it was basically anarchy. Also, this isn't a wine tasting cruise. There are children and families on the cruise and some people are drinking wine. The screaming children really ruin the atmosphere. The lines to get wine were really long on the ship and the seats are CRAMMED together. It's basically like flying in the back of an airplane, just on the water instead of in the air. Screaming kids, elbowing the stranger next to you, close quarters, the works. I imagine this could be more fun in the summer when the boat isn't packed and freezing, but this wasn't a great experience. It's basically a family tour of the lake where some people drink wine. I think it's overpriced for the low quality. Did not feel like a wine tasting cruise should feel. read more

Lucked out for a completely cloudless gorgeous October day on Saturday for a wine tasting cruise of Lake Union, and couldn't have been happier! The whole staff was welcoming and informative and very friendly, the ship was nice and clean, learned some interesting things about Seattle and had tasty wine. A must do, for Seattle visitors and Puget Sound residents alike! I'm a Puget Sounder, born and bred. I've always had a bit of a love affair with Seattle, but with the negative changes to the city and vicinity, I had to admit that my affection for the city isn't what it was. We went on this cruise yesterday, and I have to say it's rekindled my affection for "my" city. The staff was nice, personable, and the tour guide was very informative. She tossed out facts about the sound and lakes that I didn't know, and pointed out highlights. Beautiful view of the city, houseboats, live aboards, yachts, fishing boats (very fun for fans of Deadliest Catch), parks, bridges, etc, etc, etc. I might not recommend this trip for younger kids. We had a couple in our party, and they were sometimes antsy. Easy access for elderly or physically challenged riders. There is a snack bar/spirits bar with limited offerings. Restroom on board as well. I enjoyed this so much I'd suggest this as a trip when we have our next out of town guests. Oh, and about the waterfront around Pier 55... I was one of those wierdos who liked the Alaska Way viaduct (please don't judge). BUT, it is really pleasant down on the waterfront, even during construction, and the area is really much quieter without the traffic. There are parking garages nearby, so there's really no problem getting there and getting to the terminal. read more

Really nice evening cruise around the lake! I attended a company Xmas party aboard the murder mystery dinner cruise and it turned out to be a really fun event. Before we got to the ship parking was easy, we were directed to a nice big lot close by so finding a spot was not a problem. They offer to take your picture before boarding but they weren't pushy when we declined which was kind of nice for a change. There was a lot of room in the dining area and our party had a good amount of space from the other diners. The show starts right away and they had pretty good actors which fit the characters they were playing. There was some audience interactions and some folks were chosen to be involved but those who ended up as a suspect were setup beforehand by the party they were with. The food and service was really good. We were served surf and turf which was top sirloin and salmon. They had a nice fully stocked bar too which was awesome. Also if you get tired of the dining room, they let you roam the deck and check out the scenery which was nice when getting some fresh air. I really enjoyed the whole cruise, dinner, and show and would recommend it if you want something different than just a dinner and a movie. read more

Absolutely 5 stars! My husband (now) and I got married on the "Champagne Lady" which is one of many Argosy boats. Everything about the cruise was amazing. Being that we had an unrehearsed wedding happening on the boat, with fifty guests, the staff was very accommodating. The captain was great and super friendly. The bar tender was very funny and very hospitable. When the cruise was finished and all the happy attendees were off the boat, no one hassled us for payment. Usually after a catered event the bill is to be settled at the end; however, they were very professional and it was taken care of behind the scenes. This review pertains to the Christmas holiday cruise...I bought this ticket on a Groupon deal thinking it would be a good way to get in the holiday spirit. I didn't realize it was going to be a boat trip full of families with young children and grandparents. Don't get me wrong, they added to the holiday atmosphere, but my friend and I were the only two females there under 50 without children. There should really have been a boat for young folks, and another for families. The screaming kiddos at the end of the ride were especially unappealing. That said, I should have known better. I've been on the happy hour cruise and that one was quite enjoyable. Waterways does a brunch cruise that is similar and I can appreciate each for what they offer. read more

If it is a nice day, this is a terrific way to sail Lake Union and Lake Washington on a relaxing, informative, beautiful tour. We took a couple of friends with high-stress jobs. I figured a Pike Place Tour (Seattle Bites) in the morning and this in the afternoon would put them into immediate 'vacation mode' on the very first day. Worked like a charm! This was their first visit to Seattle and they were wowed. There is nothing more relaxing than being out on the water, and unlike the touristy, obnoxious tour boats in San Francisco CA (where we're from), this was not only fun, but very reasonable in cost. read more

Eric the narrator was fabulous!! Just came back from the trip a few days ago. We had the "GO Seattle" card & this was included on the card. Eric (if I remember his name correctly) was a great narrator. Throughout the boat ride, he kept talking about the different sites that we'd see. The cruise passed by Bill Gates' home, saw Horizon the ship featured on Deadliest Catch, learned a lot 'bout Seattle. Amazing thing is Eric had only been in Seattle for a few months, & memorized the "script" for the boat. He answered questions as if he were a true native. I took a cruise of Lake Washington starting off in downtown Kirkland. We did a tour circling the lake and saw some rich people houses (including Bill Gates') house throughout the tour. Being a native Seattlite, I was a little skeptical of what would be covered but I ended up having a blast. We had a great narrator who knew a lot of stuff. Also, they had indoor and outdoor seating so we were guaranteed a great view. The prices for this cruise were very reasonable and I would definitely recommend. read more

We went on an Argosy Christmas Lights cruise that left Leschi on 12/6. It was me, the hubby, and his 11 year old son. Santa was on board, they had a little area for younger kids to make crafts, and there were carollers onboard. The ship stopped at 2 local marinas so other ships could join in on the parade action and the carollers sang for about 20 minutes at each one. The stop in Kent was beautiful! They really decorated the marina with a ton of Christmas lights. The cruise itself was about 2 hrs, 45 minutes. I think the highlight for my husband and his son was when the ship went under the I-90 bridge and had only about 5 inches of clearance. The drinks were tasty, if a little overpriced. The only thing that could have made this better would have been a few more food options - particularly something gluten free. I ended up eating some nachos and then finding out there was gluten in the cheese sauce. read more

This review will be about their Christmas Ship Parade Boat Cruise. To begin, the parade boat is much smaller and dingy. Only reason I was on this is that the main boat was already sold out for the season. Chairs are okay. Interior design isn't something to rave about. There is a small gift shop next to the expensive food stand. The guide is okay at best as she wanted to party the night away. Atmosphere of this boat is perfectly suited for young adults with no children. The cruise was mehh. If you like to follow a huge ship and listen to Christmas carols in the freezing cold night then this cruise is for you. The carolers are on the main ship, so you'll hear them through the loud speakers. We cruised to the Great Wheel, then all the way to Bainbridge Island, and then back to the pier. I gave 3/5 stars simply because I didn't find this Holiday cruise that wonderful as advertised. I have to share this review, as I rarely am willing to give a company a 1-star review. But, I advise everyone think twice before giving this company any of your money. Here is my story: My wife booked us a trip on the Argosy Cruise leaving from the Lake Union boathouse for the famous "Christmas Ships" trip and wanted it to be somewhat of a surprise for everyone. Shortly after she booked this trip for our family, we found out she was pregnant(!). If you know anything about being pregnancy- apparently your brain and memory don't really work as normal (or so I've heard). Well, you might be able to guess where I'm going with this... she had the time mixed up for the departure. So, we arrive (what we thought was early) for a ship that we thought would be leaving the harbor at 5:30, rather a ship than 4:30... We were at the boat dock at 5:15. When we got there, the ship was still in the harbor and they hadn't left yet (they still had the boarding platform down and the ship was still tied down) So we were thinking all was good at this point (still didn't know we were late) and ready to get on the boat... All 7 of us! Actually, NO. Instead, the young men who were launching the boat refused to let us on the ship, claiming that they were on a tight schedule and we should have arrived earlier.... Instead they claim that we call the office (did I mention it was Sunday night?) and try to find a way to get help. So, here we were standing in the freezing cold on a beautiful night in Seattle on the dock as we watched our ship, the one that we were all REALLY looking forward to, leave the dock. There goes our Christmas gift... It really was a super sad situation. Now, I figured that someone with as good of a reputation as Argosy would have no problem either refunding our money, or finding a way to repurpose our money. So I tried calling them over the course of the next week. And calling them. And calling them. And calling them etc. Eventually, I spoke with the VP of sales and marketing, who seemed nice, but still to this day (over 2 month later) have not had any luck AT ALL with receiving any sort of compensation or refund!! Mind you, we paid almost $500 for this trip, and never received a SINGLE cent back (full disclosure: they told me that they "comp up" us for the food THAT WE PAID FOR from our initial missed trip if we booked another trip!!?). I asked them if they would be able to honor some of my money by finding a way to get half off another round of tickets (pay for 3 tickets and get 6), but they vehemently disagreed with this, as they stated that this was against their policy. All of this stems from their policies and procedures, which they send you in an email, that states there are absolutely no refunds for this type of situation. (Mind you this is an email that I NEVER personally received until after the fact, as my pregnant wife was the one to set this up in the first place...) Shame on you Argosy Cruise. What a terrible way to do business. I still can't believe that such a big and reputable company would operate this way. Not only will I personally NEVER do any further business with them, but I will also GLADLY share this experience with anyone willing to listen!! read more

Argosy held our September 2017 networking event, and I was a bit nervous about holding an event on a boat. But the event could not have gone better. We saw the highest attendance for any of our events, and our attendees still rave about it. The food was provided by Green Apple Catering and was truly delightful, everything was very fresh and seasonal. We got off to a rocky start. After waiting close to 30-45 minutes on the side of the road (we were waiting for a second tour bus to arrive) we were informed that the second bus had not been sent. Their staff remained very professional and moved everyone in to an area that allowed for better explanation (e.g, off the side of the road to get away from road noise). The young ladies that had been escorting the group around advised that we wait for a manager. Within less than 5 minutes a manager came and addressed the entire group. They offered a full refund and access to their next ride, free of charge. It is not often that a company acknowledges their error and provides a solution to this error so quickly. The tour went well and smooth. The staff of the boat was knowledgable and friendly. I would recommend anyone wanting to take a cruise of the Seattle bay areas use this company. Any company that maintains that level of professionalism, recognizes there fault and corrects it with out any prompting from it's customers is a winner in my book. read more

We took a 1.5 hour cruise of Lake Washington departing from South Lake Union. It was a great way to see the city from a different vantage point and the tour guide was very informative. We saw Bill Gates' house and many other interesting houses, etc. Very enjoyable. read more
