Waste Industries is a huge rip off. They took over Econohaul and have ruined the reputation of what was a pretty awesome trash service. Econohaul used to charge @$45 every other month (@22.50/mo). When Waste Industries took over they charged me every two months but they charged me their quarterly rate of $65 (32.50/mo) then last year it went up to $72($36/mo). They have been over charging me for the past 4 years. When I call them to discuss, they insist they have not and the customer service people talk over me so I cannot explain this simple math to them. I have asked other people what they pay and they told me it was $65/ $72 rate every 3 months, this confirms they have been grossly overcharging me and they REFUSE to listen. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. PLUS, Their trash trucks are sub par. They leave glass debris in the street and I've had to call them multiple times to clean up our streets.  Now you would think they would trace their steps and clean up all the glass on their route that came off their trucks but they don't, isn't it common courtesy to rectify the situation? Why are we paying them again? Oh, and there is more... In addition, the sanitation workers throw customers trash recepticals sometimes leaving them in the streets. They broke my heavy duty can. I cancelled service since they reduced their's by 25% and did not reduce their price, now I receive a bill for $2.18. I will pay it only because it is not worth my time to dispute it. I will haul my own trash to the landfill before I pay these guys another cent for trash service. Fortunately, there are cheaper local guys that offer the same services and do a better job. read more

Just switched to them about 6 weeks ago and they are great. Price lower than most. Have called customer service a couple times for a question about recycling and they were great. I get phone messages reminding me of the changed holiday schedule. Hope it stays that way. Saving about 1/3 off my previous carrier. Only thing that has been a little tough is that they recycle every 2 weeks (but will give you a 2nd container if you need one) and we actually generate more recycling than trash and it might be better if it was every week for recycling and every 2 for trash. Justin H. must be an employee. Five stars? Not a chance. Trust this review if you want to save yourself $$$ and frustration. This company is one of if not the worst trash hauler in the state. Their customer service people are rude, they lie outright, and they could care less. They apparently are told to say anything to get an unhappy customer off the phone. And that is if you're willing to wait for 30 minutes and more for someone to answer. They don't care! And the message that interrupts the hold music from time to time, telling you if you'd like to leave a message someone will call you back, is also a lie. They NEVER EVER CALL YOU BACK! They reduce their service during the Covid-19 because they claim to be super busy now. How's that? It's not. Just another lie. Their drivers are like the office staff. They don't care! They may pick you up, they may not. What are you going to do about it? Their drivers are as bad as the office staff when it comes to lying. Call the office, wait for half an hour or more, to report your trash wasn't picked up on the day. They'll call the driver and the driver will claim it was! Who are they going to believe? Hey, you could have run outside with a bookoo load of new garbage and loaded your tote expecting a second free pick up. Right? Yeahhhh. If they don't pick up your trash when they're suppose to, don't stand for that! Call them, have time to sit on hold for more than half an hour, and ask for a credit to your next bill for that missed pick-up. We cancelled our service. The recycling yard on Fork Branch Road near Cheswold is quite a drive, but it is worth it to load our pickup with the same amount of trash and know it gets disposed of. Who picks it up? Who picks up their recycling at FBRoad? You got it. Waste Industries! That's laugh out loud funny right there. Waste Industries IS GARBAGE! Pay attention to the one star reviews. We ain't lyin. We paid $25 to have furniture disposed of and they charged the credit card- that they were able to accomplish but it's now 5 days after they were to pick up the stuff and no one has shown up. On top of that we called the office to ask what's going on and the woman on the phone was so rude!! She needs a class in customer service or just maybe needs some class. So now we have to fight to get our $$ back and find someone else to pick up the stuff. I would give 0 stars if I could. read more

We closed our account at the end of June because our landlord sold the house. My husband paid for June through August when he got the bill back in May. We are expecting a refund for July and August but whenever I call them, they lie and give us a run around. We are pursuing legal action against them because they are committing fraud and stealing our money. read more

My recycling was delayed until Tues. this week due to snow. On Tues GFL picked up my neighbor's recycling on each side of me but not mine even though the recycling bin was less than 10 ft. from my neighbors. I called on Tues., Wed.twice,Thurs. tried emailing but the email address was not recognized by the server. I did not ever receive a call back. This is Saturday and I still have my recycling. Since it snowed again I have brought the bin back to the house. The trash went all over for at lleast 3 times. What more canI do? read more

I have been waiting for over 8 months for a bulk pickup from GFL. They keep telling me to call back in 30 days. I can understand a delay during the height of Covid, but were long past that now and most businesses have resumed operations. I will be switching to another waste disposal company soon. Waste Industry has continued to raise their prices and lower their customer service. It will be one month with no recycling pick up and they will not provide any type of refund for services that have not been honored. It is understandable weather can delay pick up's at times but not just totally skip it. Heard many of the same stories similar to our experience. Will be cancelling service. read more

I am very disappointed with this company. They have gotten worst this past year. I am still waiting for them to pick up trash from Christmas. They pick and choose what day and area they feel like delivering. I called and they said they were coming they had a ticket for my pick up never showed up. Called again to let them know they didn't come..requested a supervisor..still waiting for supervisor to call. I want a credit. This will be the last year an Xmas gift will be left. If you owe them money they are ready to report you to credit bureaus. Service is very incompetent and unreliable. This is what I get for being an on time paying customer. Worse company ever. PLEASE BEWARE....MAKE SURE YOU CANCEL YOUR AUTO PAY AFTER YOU CANCEL YOUR SERVICE. I canceled my service September 2018 because we moved out of state and sold our home. I was told I was paid until November which was fine. I scheduled them to pick up my bins and my service was canceled. Why did I wake up today with a quarterly charge on my bank account? They don't tell you on the phone when you cancel that you have to cancel it yourself online if you are on auto pay. I canceled my cable and my power in my Delaware house and my auto pay was canceled with those services why not my trash. I am sure they do this so they can keep collecting from the people who don't catch the money being taken out of their account. Crocks!! Once an account is canceled in most cases the online access is canceled as well. If I ever move back to Delaware I will stay far away from the trash company. Called to report dissatisfaction with my service. Unresolved, cancelled the service to go with a less expensive and more customer friendly company. Waste Industries billed me at the beginning of April for the months of May and June and refuse to provide a refund for services not rendered. read more

Awful Company! Rude customer service, lazy drivers. Customer service is rude and condescending. Drivers refused to pick up items, even when we called for a special pick up and neatly bundled items. They do not want to get out of the truck for anything! Said they can't pick up anything over 25lbs.
