I found Move Crew on Yelp and reached out via messenger to get an estimate for our move. Sheena…read moreresponds extremely quickly to all messages and after giving her a list of items I needed moved she gave me a quote. It was reasonable compared to others I obtained, and I especially liked that it was a flat fee - not hourly. A move can be very costly all around, so it was nice not to have any surprises when it came to the cost of the move. I put down a deposit via their online system in order to hold my date, and the day before the move she reached out to ensure everything was still the same. She said that the men would arrive between 9:30 and 10:00 and would give me a 30-minute warning call. At 9:50 when I hadn't received a call I reached out to Sheena and she told me that the guys were having truck issues and were running a bit behind. Around 10:20 Sam showed up (he drove separately) and did a walk-thru of the house. Shortly after that the truck (a U-Haul) and two other movers (Oran and Paul) also arrived. They immediately got to work disassembling and wrapping my items and loading everything into the truck. I was very impressed with the wrapping they did for my items. They REALLY wrapped everything, which none of my other movers ever bothered to do. On top of the good work, they were also all very congenial throughout the day. We had some chats about poodles, credit card debt, death...you know, the usual things (lol). Putting all my stuff into the truck took about 3 hours. Things went from great to terrible when they tried to leave the house only to find that the U-Haul truck wouldn't start!! Luckily I live within walking distance to a U-Haul location, so they walked over there to get a battery jump. However, that didn't work, either!!!!! U-Haul thought they should just get another truck and unload everything they had just packed, but they decided to call roadside assistance instead. They ended up sitting in the truck for 90 minutes waiting for them to come. I felt so bad for the guys. Seriously - terrible. What was supposed to be a quick move turned into an all day/night affair. Plus my (old) neighbor was being a bitch about the fact that they were stuck and blocking her driveway. Clearly it wasn't their choice and if everything had gone as planned they would have been gone before she got home from work. Anyway, once roadside assistance came they were actually able to work some magic and the guys made it to the new house without having to unload the truck and pack another. Once they arrived at my new home they all worked very quickly to bring everything inside and get it assembled. It was so late and such a long day and none of them had bad attitudes about the unforeseen obstacles. Despite the fact that everything took hours longer than it was supposed to, I would totally use Move Crew again. U-Haul, on the other hand... Thanks Sam, Oran, Paul, and Sheena!!

The tricky part is that they lowball the estimate and when they true it up to the actual cost you have no choice but to pay the price. In addition, there are typically many extra costs that are never communicated upfront. I was very concerned about the primitive road that led to my property, but the sales rep was adamant that smaller trucks could deliver and a scout truck would guide the delivery truck. Pure fiction. My delivery driver unloaded everything himself without assistance to a storage unit 23 miles from my home. Numerous items were broken and I lost a few items as well. The $6000 I spent was a colossal waste of money. I could have done the same thing renting a Uhaul truck at a third of the cost. Never again.

We weren't there to oversee the packing and weren't totally sure what to expect. The crew finished packing up the PODS more thank two hours sooner than we anticipated (literally saving us hundreds of dollars). Our things were in storage for over a month and the PODS were just delivered and unloaded. I need to give credit where it's due. The PODS were packed SO well! Everything was wrapped and padded perfectly and nothing broke (even the fragile things that were barely unbroken when they were loaded). I am honestly so impressed. We have moved numerous times and this was our best experience with a moving company.

All showed up in smaller 16 ft trucks and some showed up with only 2 guys. Between these four moving companies they placed my belongings back and forth in an unsecured garage that had previous field mice activity (droppings present). Between the previous movers, they moved my belongings, including a new bed and mattress still in plastic, into the garage and back into my house multiple times between all of these movers. I have a bad back and there's nothing I could do about it. It was a legitimate mess created by four previous movers. These guys were coming in to save the day. However, this company was unable to complete the move too. I requested a 26 ft. truck and three guys. Three of the nicest guys showed up but with a small truck, again. They said they were going to get gloves due to visible droppings and showed back up at my house over an hour later in hazmat suits due. I said let's just junk everything. They were supposed to give me a quote for junking the entire garage but that never happened. Due to the drama and not completing my move and/or junking request, I don't recommend. Thanks.
