The service arrived today later than usual. We are an automotive repair shop. We wen't outside and asked the drivers to please allow us a minute to get the truck keys to move the truck blocking the dumpster. They simply drove off. The customer service claims that they only are allowed 5 minutes to pick up the dumpster. Clearly they take longer. Plus, my employees are the ones that push it out for them. Customer service said that if I wanted them to come back they would charge my another $90.00 dollars. We have been customers for many years up until now. I am sure they won't miss us. But always remember that the little ones are the ones that made you who you are. Shame that this company is run the same way many are today. Worst experience I've ever had with any supplier. Owner of multiple small businesses and have never seen a company flip account managers this often. They lock their customers in long term and don't live up to their side of their service, but refuse to change the contract. If you sign on, you'll get screwed. I am not a person to jump online and rip on companies, but I've had two issues with contacting WM on two different occasions. The first was simply getting service started. The container was never dropped off which resulted in calling several times sitting on hold. The most recent was just now. Started with finding the bin missing a wheel after trash pickup a couple weeks ago. Called and was told it would be up to ten business days...no problem. Wait, a guy comes up to my house, takes a picture of my house and bin, but does nothing. I called and was told there wasn't a service order in the system...how'd the guy show up at my home? They put in the order. I sat in my office find myself more aggravated thinking back, called to talk about cancelling service, and they told me they could see the service ticket to fix my LID! They put in another ticket so we'll see what happens this time. It's utterly ridiculous that it takes three calls sitting on hold to get a wheel fixed and then be told it would cost me $75 to cancel service...it might just happen this Friday! Seriously, I'd think offering SOMETHING was warranted...a prorated service as a gesture of customer appreciation and acknowledging their poor customer service perhaps!!! read more

Waste Management will no longer pick up my trash because of a "change in their policy". I am disabled. When I called last week after a missed pickup, the supervisor told me they would try to again accommodate my needs, and she said she would personally call me back when she found out if it was possible. She never called back. After waiting 7 days, I called back and was told that there was nothing they could do, and I should have discontinued my service when I first called in, and that I was also responsible for the this week's missed pickup they never made. They also refused to refund over two months of what I paid for pickups, saying "Our policy is we do not make refunds". I would rate their service as 2 stars at best, but if you ever have any problems, you will be crap out of luck, unless you don't mind being lied to, and screwed out of your money. read more

One star is too good for this company. It is difficult to get hold of people on the phone. I had a house fire and stopped services for 6 months. They agreed to reimburse me for the month, then proceeded to continue to bill me. At the end of 6 months, I stopped services via a phone call. I was told I had a zero balance. Again, this was over the phone. Then a few months later, I get a letter from a credit management company demanding back monthly fees and compounded late fees. I protested the bill and told them that I talked to employees four times on the phone and they told me I had a zero balance and to disregard the bills. I'm paying as I don't want this on my credit report. The WM lady on the phone even told me that the company's different offices couldn't keep track of each other! What an ordeal! 417030 is the truck number that the rude incompetent driver had. Drivers coming to and from Whit Ash seem to forget that they are coming into a neighborhood. I keep my infant granddaughter, he comes and slams the dumpster on our road, which is in very bad shape. Everytime I turn around they are billing me an outrageous amount to collect my trash , I have paid around 500.00 just in the last two months . I think there is some creative accounting going on at that company. The only reason I keep it is because the driver who picks up my trash is wonderful he does a good job. Zero stars! My service area is in Arkansas not CA. I ordered a new trash can to replace my 15 year old original one that their truck busted. They delivered a new one intended for my address to my neighbor and left my damaged one on the street. How is that even possible? For two weeks now, I have wasted many, many hours calling, online chatting, emailing, and even speaking with management at the 1-800 number trying to resolve this issue. My busted trash can has been sitting on my street for two weeks, however I am unable to receive a new one even though they say it's been expedited and prioritized. They have even told me that a new trash can had been delivered a few days ago. Well, it must be invisible and my old one is still sitting on my street. WM does not even allow their managers to speak directly with their local carriers; they have to email them and I'm told every day that they emailed local but there is an "operational delay." It's sad that a company can have a monopoly on trash pickup and do such a poor job. WM needs a business model, they need supervision of their local carriers, and they do not need to contract with a 3rd party for trash can delivery because none of this is working. High prices. Extra fees and surcharges added to my bill that were not stated up front, bad customer service. Way too difficult to cancel my service. WM (Waste Management) has showed me a complete lack of values. I canceled my service due to high prices and dishonest billing. When I canceled I was threatened with more charges for immediate termination of my service. WM told me I was paid through November 24,2023 so I kept my service until then. Since then WM has threw my personal trash can in their garbage truck (3 weeks ago) and crushed it, last week I only put out their one trash bin and they left a bag of garbage in it, this week they are refusing to take all of my trash, WM is also sending me additional bills and threatening to send it to a collection agency and call an attorney. Why are there no reviews for trash collection services on Yelp? I've had the unfortunate experience of being a contract customer of Waste Management for the last two years or so. It's been a tumultous relationship to say the least. The garbage truck drivers apparently lack any sort of quality control training. Half the time, our dumpster only gets partially dumped and then rammed into the side of my rear building causing damage to the siding. Then when I call them to get an extra pickup (only to pick up the trash that they left), they charge me $75. Today was the tipping point though. Thursday is always garbage day. When I got to my office, I found trash strewn all around the empty dumpster. Half of the garbage apparently fell out of the dumpster as the lazy driver was loading the trash onto his truck. Instead of doing the right thing, he rolls the dumpster over the garbage, pushing it into the siding on my building and drove away. Suffice to say, I cancelled my account with them as of this morning. And you know what? They didn't care. Groot has a new dumpster on the way as I type this ... At roughly half the cost of the poor service I was receiving from Waste Management. Trash collection is supposed to be a transparent service. Unless you enjoy a good throbbing headache, I suggest you steer well clear of Waste Management. Good riddance. read more

Will never use or recommend WM for garbage & recycling service. They refused to tell me why I was paying 50% higher rate then my neighbors. Upon canceling service they charged me for a final pick up even after I was paid up too end of the year. On top of all that I got the $75 pick of fee for the containers and a $35 fuel charge. Waste management took over Advanced Disposal in my Mattoon area. They are beyond a horrible company!! I have called numerous times to complain about them missing my pick up, then after 8 months I received a bill when I was under the assumption that when they took over my account, my payment method would be switched over so my automatic payments would continue to be taken out like it was when I was with previous company but that was not the case, I received a bill for $167. I then found out they were charging $90 a month for TRASH service. This is robbery. I can't get them to pick up my garbage every week but they are going to charge $90 a month, what a joke! If I could give this company a Negative 100 stars I would in a heart beat. The drivers and dispatch are running a mafia like show. They pick up trash when they feel like it, put back locks when they feel like it and deliver bins when they feel like it regardless of scheduling or service days confirmed and there isn't a darn thing anyone higher up can do about it. We have had so many problems with them big and small but the worst was recently when they erroneously removed all our bins from our business and they can't seem to re deliver them. Don't throw your money away (no pun intended). We used Waste Management for years without realizing how much we were overpaying. Not only does Waste Management charge THREE TIMES the price of their competitors in the area, they also tack on ridiculous fees at every opportunity. For example, we had a trash can for over 10 years that the collection truck would drop to the ground each week, but when the bottom of it broke out, they charged us nearly $100 to replace the can. They also raised their prices without explanation every single month. Wish I could give them a 0. The scavenger pick up for our building in Chicago was a 3 year contract. They advised they can charge whatever they want each month ( not based on amount of garbage). Wow. You could have heard a pin drop when I got this call. Waste Management, outside my door, to personally pick up my forgotten recycling can; now to which was overflowing. And, you know, the guy could not have been nicer, more pleasant, or more understanding. Does the squeaky wheel really get the oil? Or are they trying to improve their standards and public perception? All I can say is that they chose to do the right thing so I will up their rating. As I said goodbye to my personal pick up man I glanced at the back of his pick up truck: looked like he had all ready made a few other personal pickups that day.
