Pile of stuff which sat for 2.5 weeks due to WM giving me the wrong pickup date a month in advance.
    Linda H.

1). I called a month ahead for a bulky item pickup. They gave me 3 Wednesdays to choose from. I paid a helper to move stuff out the day before the scheduled pickup. On pickup day, I called at noon and was assured it would be picked up by 6pm. Called again at 5pm and was told I was never scheduled for that day, they don't even come to my city on Wednesdays. The soonest they could pick it up was 2.5 weeks later. So my neighborhood had to look at a junk pile for weeks. 2). For billing issues, representatives have no decision making authority. They take notes and promise a supervisor will call back, but they don't call. I've waited as long as two weeks with no luck. Very poor communication.

    Going for the lift.

Recycling and waste management is an important topic that is always on my mind. Hence, writing a…read morereview about this place seemed like a good Yelp choice. No one else has written a review yet, so I feel special to be FTR! We often drive by this area when going back and forth to my parent's house. Not realizing there is more than meets the eye here. This massive center offers a number of services including home or business trash & recycling pickup, dumpster rentals, and will accept on sight hazardous waste, e-waste, old appliances, etc. Check their web sight for details on what is or isn't recyclable. I have been collecting dead batteries for about 5 years, never knowing where to turn them in. They say not to throw them away in the regular garbage because they can degrade and contaminate the environment. I was especially excited to discover that this location accepts old and used household batteries! When you drive through, there are signs posted with Covid-19 protocols. As instructed, I placed the bag of batteries in the back of our pick up truck. While wearing masks, we pulled forward as an employee in full protective gear, removed the bag, and took some information off of Joe K's driver's licence which he placed on the rolled up window so that no direct contact is necessary. This service was free and such a relief to finally get rid of all those batteries! I have been to other dumps that accept waste like this, but they are just too inconveniently far away, not too mention, the long lines to get in are darn right ridiculous! I will definitely be returning to WM with lots more e-waste and of course, the never ending supplies of old batteries! Hoarding is not my style!

The apartment complex I manage in midtown Sacramento has used Waste Management for years. They…read moreoccasionally to frequently miss pick ups and you have to call to get the pick up fee removed from your bill, at which time they will tell you that the driver says they picked up even though the dumpsters are still full of same trash that was there the day before. It's annoying checking the dumpsters on every pick up day to make sure they were emptied. Now I have a camera on the dumpsters. The greatest disappointment of my years of as a Waste Management customer was today. I installed a fence and locking gate around the parking lot with dumpsters. At the beginning of the week, I called Waste Management to arrange getting them the key for our Friday pickup. They said I could not bring the key to them but the driver would call me upon arrival Friday to get the key. Friday morning I had my phone next to me all morning. I called WM just before 10am to see if I could get an ETA. I was told the driver was on stop 87 and I was stop 91. At 11:15am I called back and was told the dispatcher tried calling me at 10:21 but got voicemail. I looked at my phone log while on phone with WM and said there is not a call at that time or any call other my calls to WM. They could not send anyone back to pick up our trash or get the gate key. They did offer to remove the pick up fee for the missed pick up. So 31 people go the weekend without their trash picked up. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Peter the supervisor proceeded to tell me that they tried calling not once but twice this morning, when I asked why I was such an unhappy customer if they called for the key, he said they would try calling again Monday. He went so far as to say the call log in my phone was meaningless because I could just delete the incoming calls. He suggested I mail WM the key. I asked how long he thought 31 people could go without getting their trash picked up. When I told Peter I was looking at a competitors website site, he wasn't sure he wanted to send someone here to get the gate key. I said "I don't want to waste another day waiting for WM but you will still have to pick up your dumpsters, you will need the key. You need to give me a chance to set up a new vendor." Peter's solution was to provide the cancellation team's direct line.
