They only offer trade for what they buy from community, but I feel the relationship with the sellers reflects the quality of items they are bringing into the space.

My husband and I employed Tamar's help in staging our home for sale and were AMAZED at the transformation she brought to it. She clearly has a talent and vision for arranging a space and making it special, and took her time to try several different combinations of furniture, art and accessories to achieve the maximum appeal. She managed to do all this within our budget. Her help played a big role in the sale of our place. They have an impressive selection of clothing, shoes, glassware, collectibles, furniture, and vintage treasures, and it's always interesting to browse. That said, the prices are much higher than what most people expect from a thrift store. Traditionally, thrift stores exist to provide affordable clothing and household items while supporting the community, especially during times when many families are trying to stretch their budgets. Unfortunately, many of the prices here feel much closer to what you'd find in an antique or resale shop. I would honestly suggest renaming it to something like "Bridge Resale Store" because I think that would better reflect what customers can expect. It's still a great place to shop if you're looking for unique or vintage items, but if you're expecting traditional thrift store pricing, you may leave disappointed. I enjoy visiting and appreciate the staff and the quality of the merchandise--I just wish the pricing better matched the mission and expectations that come with the word "thrift."

DeeLux is a family-owned resale store that offers a suitable selection of recycled clothing, shoes, & accessories. They operate on a Buy-Sell-Trade model (Cash 30% or trade 50%). They also sell new accessories, gifts, & greeting cards. The grand opening was June 28th. They also have two other shops - one in Claremont and the original in Orange County. The store is nicely curated and neatly organized. Items are reasonably priced and cheaper than Wasteland, which is next door. The tchotchkes are cute & witty. Reminds me of what you would find at Urban Outfitter. I'll be sure to stop in on a regular basis to check out new inventory or if I need a unique gift.

On top of that, much of the vintage merchandise was heavily worn beyond what I would consider fair used condition, yet priced far above market value for the quality. Sadly, the lack of professionalism and poor customer service alone are enough to keep me from returning.

In my particular case that left a bad taste in my mouth was I wanted to purchase some cute rings which were quite affordable - they were $2 each. But when I went up to the register, I was told that the minimum amount for a card purchase was $10, which I did not meet. (I picked out 3 rings for a total of $6) I also did not have any cash on me. I then proceeded to look in all the nooks and crannies of the store to see if I could find something else so I could meet the minimum. Mind you, I was a very committed customer that was wanting to purchase items! However, I couldn't find anything else and got zero help or attention from the workers. I think what would have helped is if they at least asked what I was looking for or help directed me to some places to look. So I then just walked out without purchasing anything and took my business to another vintage store down the street!

We spent most of our time looking through every inch of this room. There was so much to appreciate in the beautiful handcrafted solid wood furniture and in all the lovely decorative pieces. The nostalgia was wonderful. We've been on the hunt to complete a mid-century wrought iron patio set we found at Pasadena Flea Market. I waited a good 15 plus minutes during which time her assistant took down the coat from the web site and made it reflect the higher price. Then she brightly asked if I wanted to try it on again and I said no, I need to leave and then she said she wouldn't honor the price that was listed on line stating it was a human error and she was running a small business. I think it is bad form to not honor the price that was listed. She has known than I've brought friends who have spent significant money in her store and I come to her from great distance for years...this was their mistake and I think it's extremely poor form to not honor what was listed. This is customer service at its worse. So much for loyalty. I could easily have bought the jacket on line and picked it up at the store but I thought that would not have integrity. Come to think of it, her actions didn't have integrity. You would think she would cultivate keeping her loyal customer base. What a disappointment.

My brother-in-law and I spent some time in the toy section and we both actually ended up leaving with some teddy bears. His was only $3, and when he looked it up in the store it was worth up to $70--he was so excited about that find! Overall my personal experience was very pleasant and the customer service I received was great. Most employees seemed friendly and helpful. I did notice a slightly awkward interaction between an older female employee and another customer browsing near the VHS/DVD and jewelry counter. The employee called out "next," which made it seem like she thought the customer was ready to check out. When the customer didn't respond right away, the employee called out louder to get her attention kinda sounded annoyed. The customer looked a little caught off guard and replied that she was just browsing before continuing to look around. It was a bit of an odd moment, but when that same employee ended up checking us out, everything went smoothly and we had no issues. I was warmly and authentically greeted by a young male African-American lad; one can opine that he has good customer service skills. Anyway, this store has different classic-vintage clothing, sunglasses and foot wear. Majority of what they sell were mostly from the 70's 80's and 90's. Guess what era I grew up in? lol. Ok, I'm neither here or there let's get back on track. I checked some of the simplest plain white shirts and sweaters with logo cost $24 to $60 USD. Blimey! But all look so bloody (vintage) cool! Moreover, there were cowboy leather boots that I saw that look rufus! And it cost $65 and I've debated should I get a pair or that sweater that says BOSS.
