I've been to this wasteland a handful of times now and it's the one I visit the most often although it's one of the furthest ones from where I live! I go out of my way to go to this one because I've always had the best interactions with the staff, everyone is always so friendly and make great small talk. It makes it a exciting place to shop (: I've been able to find a few pieces that have been on my wishlist for amazing prices I decided to take a shot at selling bringing just a couple pieces I was ready to part with to see what it's like. The buyer offered me extremely fair prices for the pieces I brought, it actually exceeded my expectations! First time selling clothes and received excellent service. The buyer was very clear on how selling works and ran the pricing of items with me before any final decisions. It's been over a decade since I've been into Wasteland, and used to always hit up the Melrose location. Friday was my first time in their HLP spot since I live in the hood. I'm sooooo over dealing with apps like Depop and Poshmark, so thought to try selling here for one last hurrah before donating. Better for the environment + no annoying customer service to deal with. The store was clean and organized, and the gal who helped me, whose name escapes me, was a very chill, fashionable, polite human. The other staff were minding their own biz working, but 1 male worker was making eye roll worthy commentary as he tagged a VTMNTS logo sports bra (ew lol). I brought in some never worn Toteme kitten heel sandals, lightly scuffed MM6 wedge booties, new Melissa platform sandals, various conversational and pop culture tees (from *NSYNC to Fender), and some Jaded London items with tags. 6 or 7 of my items were selected, 1 of which I turned down bc it was SO obscenely low. I made $31 hahahahahhaa Although a lot of these items were free or given to me due to my occupation -- the major lesson learned here is to be much more mindful with my purchases and consumer behavior. read more

Wasteland has a great location and always delivers. I usually come out with something every time I visit. They have a solid mix of cool clothes and vintage pieces, plus the occasional steal that's too good to pass up. Good spot for finding unique stuff. read more

Every time I come to this location, I always walk out satisfied, especially when Reese is working! He helped me last Friday with finding certain designers from specific eras of various brands and also recommended similar designers to me. It's very refreshing to receive customer service like that, especially nowadays in fashion where people aren't very welcoming when introducing others into their world. I was walking in my neighborhood and was surprised to see that Wasteland had opened up a few blocks from my house. Wasteland is a high-end clothing boutique that sells new & gently used vintage clothing and accessories for men and women. They carry a mixture of designer and independent labels. The store is spacious and well organized. I'll definitely be popping in from time to time to score some good deals. read more

This was my first time going to the Wasteland Highland Park location. Tempted to gatekeep because their vintage selection was fire. The employees were sweet and helpful. Super good vibe at this store and the best merch. My fav brands like Golden Goose, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Balenciaga, BB Simon, and wanted ALL the vintage. The prices were super reasonable. I even saw a Gucci dress for 150. Their buyers are really top. Clean, well organized. Highly recommend. read more

I've been shopping at Wasteland for many years and just visited this location for the first time today. I usually use Yelp to read reviews, but the service was so amazing in this location, I felt compelled to write a review. This may be the friendliest most helpful staff I have encountered anywhere in a long time. I never felt rushed or pressured and these two wonderful women had such kind, and helpful attitudes. The selection was fantastic and the pricing was very fair. It's a great location and the parking sitch is great there. It really makes a difference when I feel welcomed when I come in a store. I haven't sold at Wasteland in years! I was surprised to find out they now have a location in the East Side. I decided to pop in today to sell a few things that haven't been selling on poshmark and my experience was great. The only thing that changed is they now give 30% instead of 35% of the sticker price they will sell your item for. Fine with me. The inventory is pretty much the same from what I remember: used designer clothing, shoes, and accessories. They do have some contemporary brands here and there but it's not much and every item is priced higher than you would find at Crossroads Trading. The associates here were really nice and approachable and the selling process was easy. Overall, I'm glad to see them in this part of town. I'll pop in once in a while to see what's new. Hoping to score some DOEN shirts. Parking is a bit tough around here. Try looking for one in the residential behind the busy Figueroa St. read more

Rude... The guy in charge of selling back clothes makes eye contact with mr and knew I was there with a giant bag of clothes in a plastic bag. I patiently waited on the bench directly in front of him to finish up with another customer. As he is finishing ringing up the previous seller, another guy comes in with a plastic bag and he says hello to him and asks him if he's selling and has him sign on a sign in sheet. Not sure why he didn't acknowledge me, I can only presume... but it was not for lack of visualization as I'm a big pregnant lady in a red sweater with a giant plastic bag of clothes sitting directly in front of him. I went to sell and shop! They aren't as thorough as the Melrose location and did not look through everything I brought. They are also more picky on what they buy compared to Melrose, probably because they are a smaller store. Because they are picky, you would expect all the nice clothes to be there right? That's wrong. :( I looked around and everything was either in terrible condition or ugly :,( This location is confusing and made me sad. It would have been incredibly helpful to have been able to review a list of brands that you do NOT accept prior to using an hour of my day. Staff was very kind and tried not to embarrass me, but I would've just skipped this entirely if I'd been able to see that you don't accept brands like BCBG. read more

this place should be called Waste Of Time Land. I brought some expensive, very lightly worn amazing items to sell. One was a hand knit sweater imported from Austria. Never worn. I was offered $8.00 for my $125.00 sweater. The picker was a joke! Won't be going back there. Not ever! read more

Don't support! The people in here are so pretentious and the manager "Trini" is rude. I don't understand how they're in charge. Not sure why they used this neighborhood for this type of store, are they dense and just ignore the obvious gentrification? Wow I just went through this at the Left Bank lol. I hate to leave a negative review but racism is so draining. This store used to be one of my go to spots to get luxury thrift. I've also shared this space with so many friends. However, today I'm over it. I walked in looking for an outfit for a funeral and tried a few things on. I made a selection on an quite a few items. I tried to causally talk with the lady helping me, a short Hispanic lady, perhaps including another shirt I was unsure about. But she was not engaging and quite rude. I decided to split my purchase since I had some cash on me. I handed her 3 $20 bills to check out and she held it in the air looking to see if they were real. Then swipes them with the pen. My attitude switches with her looking at my with disgust. She's asks if I want the receipt and before she gives it to me she looks at it as if to approve my card when through. Once again I honestly I should've just left the store and the items there. Maybe I didn't look as dazzled up this Wednesday afternoon but that doesn't matter. She was wrong and very rude and I wish I got her name. Wasteland lost a faithful customer today. Be careful paying cash with some pigment in your skin my fellow brown ladies. read more
