He quoted $70 and 30min wait time for the watches as one required 4 batteries to be replaced. We hovered by as we didn't feel comfortable leaving behind the watches because they were of great monetary value. It's not that we didn't trust the employee but it was the seedy characters in the mall that would occasionally eye the watches when they would pass by and on some occasion pass by a few times. It was the suspicious behavior that made us a little paranoid post-check out and had us rushing to our cars/looking behind our shoulder. The employee finished under 30min to our surprise and we left satisfied with his careful/clean work. While they were working on my diamond ring, one of the diamonds came out and had to be replaced. Although that experience left me uneasy, I decided to give the business another chance. Today, I brought in a pair of very special earrings that I purchased from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for approximately $400. The silver post had separated from the base of one earring, and I wanted to find out whether it could be repaired. After waiting my turn, I spoke with a woman who appeared to be in charge. Once she determined that the shop could not perform the repair, her entire manner became rushed and dismissive. I was still trying to understand what she was telling me and ask about my options, but she repeatedly cut me off with, "Is there anything else I can do for you?" When I explained that I still had questions, she responded, "We have other customers. You're not the only customer." That response was completely unnecessary. I had waited patiently for my turn, I was not demanding that they perform an impossible repair, and I was not taking an unreasonable amount of time. I simply wanted a clear explanation concerning a valuable and personally meaningful piece of jewelry. A business being unable to perform a particular repair is understandable. Treating a customer as though she is an inconvenience for asking basic questions is not. I then walked to another jewelry shop nearby. They patiently explained that the earrings could not be repaired through conventional soldering and would require a laser repair. They accepted the earrings and agreed to attempt the work. That brief, professional explanation was all I had been asking for. Fast-Fix did not lose a returning customer because they lacked the equipment for this particular job. They lost a customer because of the unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and unprofessional way I was treated. Based on both of my experiences--especially today's interaction--I will not return, and I cannot recommend this location.
