I recently bought home and found that this place had installed our water heater earlier this year. After a plumbing inspection was conducted by a different company, they found that the water heater was set to the maximum setting (not standard at all). After much research, this company and another company from Thumbtack had the lowest quote by far for installing/removing a gas water heater from my townhouse. So much lower than the other competition, that I was a little skeptical at first. But it was so easy to get multiple quotes from Curtis for different scenarios (i.e. replacing the expansion tank) that I decided on this company. A lot of other companies required people to pay for them (if you didn't choose them) to come to the house to inspect the water heater before giving out quotes, therefore, trying to pressure the sale in person. I was pleasantly surprised by the result. Curtis came on time with another employee, installed the new State water heater, and removed the old water heater all in less than 90 minutes. They were very professional and provided me with all of the information I needed as a homeowner. They also attached all the paperwork directly on the water heater so that it wouldn't get lost. Lastly, they didn't try to upsell me with any additional services, so I paid what I expected. The state water heater had the same parts and labour warranty as all the other companies I called (one popular one even had only a 30-day labour warranty). This company owner was called to repair a hot water heater. He came three times and never fixed the problem. Every rime he left there was a different issue. Only created new issues after he charged nearly $1000 and fixed nothing. This company lacks integrity and the owner should be ashamed of himself. My child and I endured a week without heat or hot water in our home due to his negligence and disregard for his his poor work impacts someone else.Do not choose this company. Water Heater Services was excellent! They really know what they are doing! They got there right when they said they would! They dont give you a window of time like other places do. They give you a time.They also try to give you a heads up money-wise over the phone upon your initiatl call which is nice. For me they said between $85 to $362. I called at 9:30, they said they'd be there at 11. They were there at 11 and they were out of my house in an hour. Symptom & Diagnostic: I didnt have any hot water and thought it was due to the recent cold weather and the space heater in the garage closet not being turned on but it was the cylinders. $338 dollars later, I have hot water!! Def. not as pricy as I thought it would have been and its worth it for the great service! read more

I called WHS finding them on Google, after my old 26-yo old water heater died and flooded my basement, owner gave me an immediate quote over the phone. They were here within 3 hours and water heater replaced plus the old one hauled away 90 minutes later. Curtis and Kenny were very respectful, pleasant, and professional. The price (~$1600 including $300 in some additional parts my old system needed added on to be up to code) was much lower than other prices I have heard people pay, and the quality of service and parts much higher. He installs higher quality heaters direct from the manufacturer (State AKA A.O. Smith) vs. the dumbed-down heaters (designed to need replacement sooner) designed by Smith for Home Depot, Lowe's per those stores' specifications (to die sooner so they can sell and install more heaters). My model installed by WHS is State gs6-50-brt, can't buy it at Home Depot or Lowe's. Can't recommend highly enough. read more

As a single female there are very few service companies that I trust are not trying to scam or screw me out of money for not being a subject matter expert when calling a professional. I was given a card for Water Heater Services LLC on Thursday. I called and spoke to Curtis Friday, he emailed me an esimate on Saturday and we made arrangements on Sunday for an install as late as Tuesday afternoon. After a month with no hot water he was able to come out, replace my unit and not rob me blind in the process. I highly recommend his services and I will happily use him again in the future. Excellent response time and very professional. I used the website to request an estimate after 10PM (non-emergency). Curtis called me at 7AM the next morning so he could get me on the schedule for the day. Curtis explained pricing and was very clear about what to expect. Another local company quoted me $475 to replace a single thermostat (that was the "sale" price) Curtis quoted me less than half of that (very reasonable) and explained they do a full replacement (both elements and both thermostats). I called around and got at least 5 different quotes before choosing Water Heater Services to replace my water heater. My phone conversations with them were very good, they were very knowledgeable and competitively priced. As the other review said, they arrived exactly on time, a rare find these days. They replaced a 75-gallon water heater, quickly and efficiently and cleaned nicely as well. They didn't try to sell me anything extra nor did they try to make up issues that weren't there (which unfortunately many other plumbers will do). On Thursday, 31 JAN, I contacted Mr. Witherspoon via his web site. By time I arrived at my desk, I saw that he called. I had conducted some research so had an idea of the brands I would accept and what I did not want due to reviews online. He was courteous, listened to my situation, asked questions to gain an understanding of what I wanted, and helped me choose a water heater that would work for my situation. He provided his opinion when I asked and was not pushy toward any certain brand; he listened to what was important to me and then provided me with choices. I had been out of hot water since Sunday and was happy that he would be able to install the water heater on Friday, 1 FEB. Provided a detailed verbal quote over the phone and then emailed me with a written proposal so that I would have the estimate in writing. He explained that the one additional cost may be for the expansion tank and he would check with the city first to find out if code required it. I appreciated his honesty. His prices are fare.... I appreciated that he offered to let me pull the permit, to save me money rather than paying him to do so. Due to my current work load I went ahead and asked that he add that to the bill. He arrived promptly, having stopped by the building services department to pick up the permit for installation (I have propane) and provided me with my copy of the permit. I showed him the location of the old water heater - we spent time discussing what may have happened to cause the internal fire (indicated by the soot on the outside). He and Kenny went about the job of removing the old and installing the new. The removed all evidence of the old heater as well as the packaging from the new heater. They explained things to me along the way and were kind enough to answer my questions as I had many during the process. I didn't understand the reasoning behind expansion tanks... why one was not needed in 2004 but is needed now.... I understand that there is now a code that says it has to be, but didn't understand what has changed in the public water system to make what was ok before not ok now. After installation, Curtis showed me how to light the water heater and provided me with an orientation on the various settings (the new water heater does not have the same controls as my old one did) and was kind enough to write the invoice number on the heater so that I would have that should I need it in the future. He also explained that he will register the water heater for us. This way, Bradford White will have our heater on file so to speak. After he and Kenny left, I called the city to schedule an inspection of the installation. The city clerk remarked that she remembered Mr. Witherspoon coming in for the permit that morning and how nice and together he was.... she commented he was nice to deal with and had everything in order. That was an unsolicited review!!! :-) So here I sit, typing a wonderful review as the water is heating in my new Bradford White 50 gal heater. Curtis is kind, professional, patient, and will be happy to answer any questions you have. He really knows his water heaters and is passionate about what he does. You can tell he enjoys his business and has pride in his work. While he is working in your home, you will feel as if he is working in his own home; he keeps things need and cleans up the site before leaving. I appreciate that about a professional who is working in my home. I will definitely recommend him to everyone I know. This is a small company that only replaces residential water heaters. My gas water heater sprung a leak recently and fortunately I was home and caught it before it flooded my house. I researched plumbers and found good ratings for this company on Yelp. After discussing options for replacement with Curtis, the owner, I gave them the go ahead to perform the service. They were able to fit me in immediately and showed up 2 hours later, which was one of the main reason I selected them, along with price and ratings. The job was performed professionally and they left the area clean when they were done. I added a booster, which is a mixing valve, to increase hot water capacity rather than move up from a 50 to 75 gallon heater. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the retail price (Home Depot) for this equipment when agreeing to it. After they left, I was able to check on the actual prices for the water heater installed and the Honeywell mixing valve and found that I was charged significantly more than what a reasonable cost including installation should have been. I also found that the State gas water heater (the model carried on the truck) is the bottom end State 50 gallon model out of three levels, and only has a 6 year warranty versus 8 and up for the better models. I have determined that I over paid by about 20% on the whole job. I contacted the owner by email to discuss this and he never responded. I was definitely taken advantage of and consider them water heater ambulance chasers. read more
