We have been taking our daughter to Water Wings for over a year now. She started out in the Parents and Me 1 class, which has the parents in the water with the child, and graduated two levels into the Guppies class, which has the child with just an instructor in the class. We have had her in a variety of class size types, and they have never felt like the ratio of students to teachers was overwhelming. She has changed teachers a few times, but all seem to be knowledgeable. Her favorites have been coach Avery, coach Taj, and coach Dani. Water Wings is located off of Horizon Ridge and Green Valley in a pretty large space. They have a large, three lane pool, and a small baby pool. The large pool is broken up into different sections for the various classes and same for the baby pool. There are 7 showers to rinse off before and after class and even include soap/shampoo. There are a number of changing rooms and restrooms for anyone to use. There is a viewing room for family and friends to watch students swim as well as seating inside the pool area. We are going to continue taking her here even after we are comfortable with he swimming level, as she has learned other good life skills beyond being able to swim. read more

They told me that I didn't need to apologize for having to wonder off mid sentence to bring my son back to me & you could just tell they meant it. Frustrated with the billing and refund policy. My kids will not be attending Water Wings Swim School due to a scheduling conflict with school. I reached out to request a refund, but was told they only offer class credit and will not refund the amount to my credit card. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, they've been unhelpful and inflexible. This policy feels unfair, especially when services haven't been used. Disappointing experience, and we won't be returning. I am asking for a refund for services that have NOT been rendered. read more

Water Wings has a convenient location and plenty of class times. My daughter took weekly classes here for a year. She didn't learn to swim, but I know other families who have had success here. The school has one giant pool that is sectioned off for various classes and a smaller pool for baby classes. Parents can watch their kids from the large observation room or there are a few chairs at the side of the pool. Next to the pools they have showers to rinse off and a hall of changing stalls to get ready. A lot of facility conditions and school experience will depend on the time of day you have your class. On weekday mornings they aren't busy so it's easy to get a shower and changing stall, the facility is clean, and it's pretty peaceful there. Evenings are busy so sometimes there is a wait for stalls, floors and changing areas get messy, and it can be loud and chaotic. Rescheduling classes is easy if you need to miss for any reason. The teachers overall are pretty good and work well with the kids. I think it's more about finding a teacher who is compatible with your child's personality. Our favorite teachers were Brandon and Natalie. We started with Parent and Me I and went right to Parent and Me II. Both were parent participation classes with Brandon as the teacher. My daughter made most of her progress during this time. Next my daughter moved to classes that didn't have parent participation. She was meeting all the requirements to move from Guppies to Tadpole to Starfish and we ended with Seahorse. My daughter was developing some skills, but I never felt confident that she would be able to save herself if she fell into our pool. This was of utmost importance to us. I changed teachers a few times and moved her to private lessons at $48 per 30 minute weekly lesson. No luck so we decided to take a break. I think my daughter's failure to learn to swim was a 50/50 split of my child and the school. She was not paying enough attention. School factors were a lack of teacher consistency due to absences and an overly stimulating environment at times. Maybe times have changed, but when I was a kid we took lessons over one summer. We learned to swim and moved on with our lives. This is what I had planned when I enrolled my daughter because this isn't her lifelong sport. My other friends who come here seem to join indefinitely, one has been coming for three years! The school does seem to be set up more to come for a long time than to learn a skill and move on. I never leave reviews, but this one is necessary. Water Wings engages in unethical business practices. Beware of their billing scams. I don't recommend anyone learn to swim here. The only positive is the swim instructors are kind, welcoming and talented teachers. Management and billing are a nightmare. I paid for 4 lessons - one each week for one month. One of the lessons was canceled because Water Wings was closed for a holiday weekend. Instead of rescheduling me for the missed lesson or refunding me, I was told that I would have to sign up for another month of lessons (approximately $250) before my makeup lesson would be scheduled. Clearly this makes no sense. I paid for 4 lessons and only received 3. It's a complete scam to tell someone that in order to receive a service they have already paid for, they need to pay an additional $250 for a month's worth of lessons that aren't needed. read more

I enjoy taking our son here for swim classes. We've been coming since our son was 4 months old. He enjoys the swim classes. Like life, there's good parts and not so good parts. Cons: I don't like how we pay for a group class and then there's another class next to your group when we're in the small pool, squishing us into an already small pool. But we've avoided that by coming earlier in the day and school is recently back in session. Sometimes it's difficult to have the same instructor consistently. Pros: Our child is safe with competent staff. The staff is welcoming and kind. And the restrooms and changing rooms are always clean. They test the pH in the pools daily and the instructors answer questions to the best of their ability. read more

Our Favorite Instructor is TED. My 8yr old son has attended private lessons at Water Wings for over 1yr. Ted now teaches my 2 yr old daughter. Ted is always Smiling, has a positive attitude, able to relate to all ages and levels he teaches, excellent at verbal and physical communication, and always motivated with positive reinforcement. Ted gets 5 Stars from me. Both my son & daughter have been taught by other instructors and even though the curriculum is the same the experience has been different. I gave this location a 4 star because I strongly believe that the other Instructors could be greater if the quality of their classes were as good at Ted's. I am very mixed about this place. My daughter started off in amazing environment with instructor Taj. Then as she moved up to the next level it became a mess. It was a different instructor every week. No consistency. She had instructor "Tyne" at one point who was absolutely terrible She became stuck and even seemed to be getting worse because there was always someone new. The final straw that made it sour was that one day she nearly drowned when the instructor wasn't paying attention. I need a new place. read more

We take our 2 kids here and we absolutely love this place. They are so accommodating. Every single person that works at the Henderson location is so sweet. If for whatever reason the kids instructors will not be there they call to let us know a few days before and they find a replacement. We love all the instructors! We have been taking our 4 year old son the Water Wings (Encino) for about 18 months and they are phenomenal! All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our son was quite shy when we started and did not want to go into the water but Adam was able to bond with him and make him comfortable, now he loves to go "swim with Adam"! He is patient, knowledgeable, kind and our son is now able to swim. My husband and I have so much comfort knowing our boy is water safe. My 8 year old son came here for a birthday party 2 years ago, and was the only one who couldn't swim yet. We signed him up for group classes and he progressed from Jellyfish to Orca over 18 months. The facilities were clean, and the swim instructors were all very knowledgable and patient. We were most recently with Tyne, who did a great job to motivate him to gain confidence in his techniques and strokes, while keeping it light hearted and fun. Sometimes there's 5 kids in the class, sometimes there was one or two and the group lessons felt like private lessons. She sees other teachers as well for make up classes but she loves Natalie and only asks for her. We have been with water wings for a year. I've waited a year to give my honest review. The staff are professional, energetic and knowledgeable , they really showed a lot of patience and consistency in working with my son who has extra energy and oftentimes easily distracted. Miss Melissa we love her, she has been my sons instructor for over a year and she made wonders and miracle with him. Granted when we we have to do make up classes, we can't have her to do it, but the rest of the staff were just as good as Miss Melissa (Duke, Cash, Arianna& Gabby). Gabby who greets us always with a smile and positive attitude. She is easy to work with in rescheduling and make up lessons if we missed it. The staffs are all trained to work with your child the fundamentals of swimming . They even organize their first swim meet which is today and my Son enjoyed it so much. I know some people didn't have a good experience with some of the staff at water wings, but overall I can vouch that everyone have been professional and helpful for my sons swim journey. My daughter attended Water Wings swim school 2x a week for 5 years We enrolled her when she was 4 months old into the parent and me swim class. She worked her way all the way up through their programs. I cannot express how much we loved this swim school. It gave my daughter such confidence in the water. She never had to wear floaties or a life jacket in the pool. As young as 9months old she was pushed in the pool by her cousin. she was able to swim to the edge and hold on. Watwr Wings basically has been our second home for the last 5 years. Having several different instructors over the years (we have had our favorites of course)she has always been well taken care of and loved coming to swim school. We've been here for a month now. My kiddo started out at the basic level. Had been in pool before but never had lessons. After only one lesson they told us to tell front desk to move up a level. My complaint is a teacher had only done one of her lessons was really rude with the kids first instead of asking the parents if it was their first time in that class she asked the kids and when she was telling them what to do and they werent doing it she got snippy with them and i wasnt happy about it. My kiddo really loves it here. Other complaints i have are they dont always answer phone and raised the prices on me after only a month. Also goid thing is they offer free classes for enrolled members whenever they are training new employees. My son just turned 4 and started in the starfish class and had his first private lesson with Ty (Tyne). She is amazing with my son. She knew how to push him without pushing him too hard. I brought my daughters for swim class, and everything was great until one of the kids threw up in the pool. We all got out of the pool, and move to a different pool to finish out the lessons. After we got out, Hispanic woman got into the other pool that the kid threw up with her little daughter. I asked the instructors why they aren't asking her to get out, and they said they already did. I am also Hispanic, so I went up to the woman and asked her if she knew that someone threw up in the pool. She then said no got her daughter out quickly and let me be an extreme disappointment that the staff would just let somebody do that. I wanted to cancel my membership for this reason, and I wasn't able to and was charged full price. Very unsanitary. read more

All the swim instructors have their own style of teaching; but they all have one thing in common: they are all encouraging. It takes a lot of patience to work with frightened or crying little children, and they all are understanding and work with them. The front desk is amazing as well. Today we had a mix up on scheduling and missed classes on my part, the school called me and worked it out nicely. Customer service is very good.
