I am a remote homeowner in The Villages, living 1,200 miles away. I called over a month ago, explained my situation, and was told no problem -- booked an appointment for a Tuesday between 2-4pm. At 3:30 no one had shown up and no one called. When I reached out, a woman answered from a personal vehicle with a child in the background and apologized saying they were busy. Rescheduled for Thursday, then pushed to Friday when I would actually be on site. Friday morning I called and texted to confirm. Was told staff was 6 minutes away. They arrived 90 minutes later -- two full-size trucks with trailers. Despite the trailers, they had no stock to perform a simple repair. The job: one frozen sprinkler head needed replacement. Their recommendation: replace all heads and all valves for $2,900. The valves are all working fine. When I questioned it, they said they couldn't do the work for a couple of weeks anyway as they'd need to order parts. I was never told there was a $95 diagnostic fee when I booked. I paid it in cash for 10 minutes of work and a recommendation to replace equipment that doesn't need replacing. As a remote homeowner I depend on honest, reliable contractors. I was very disappointed. I waited a month for an appointment. I agreed to pay $99 for a visit. A technician showed up turned on my system gave me a $2,500 estimate for what it would cost to fix and left. I actually thought for the $99 he was there to adjust some sprinklers or do something useful. As I said I was very disappointed with paying $99 for an estimate. That visit lasted 5 minutes at best. read more

Fellow Villagers referred me to Water Wizzard, Irrigation, Inc. Phillip Willman arrived as scheduled and over the next hour evaluated my irrigation system for landscaping and lawn. Several points of the irrigation system were purged of dirt, four Hunter sprays were replaced, and one UAN Rotary Nozzle was placed. I now have accurate irrigation in my landscaping. Phillip carefully replaced mulch and rocks in the plant areas and cleaned up the drive and walk ways. In addition, Phillip explained the Hunter Sensor, a definite upgrade from the one installed on my home by the Villages' builder. It will pay for itself in one year with the savings on unnecessary watering. Water Wizard has raised the bar of performance. I highly recommend them for your irrigation needs. read more
