I realized the morning of the wedding that I hadn't assembled our fujifilm cameras - she immediately stepped in to help. The venue is very customizable - it's BYOB (though FYI about wine/beer only policy- we served spritzes and sangria as our signature drinks), you can choose your own caterer, and we were able to save on florals because the venue is so pretty, it doesn't need any dressing up. We initially debated venues solely because the Sequoia was farther away for our guests -- but we kept coming back to the Sequoia, and I am so so glad we did. We would pick it again in a heartbeat!

I went here today for a retreat and was pleasantly surprised. The parking is not too crazy and the pavement is not ridiculously uneven. There is a chapel and during our little retreat a wedding was going on. Monte Toyon is also easy to get to and a hop, skip and a jump away from civilization aka Safeway, gas, coffee and restaurants.

There are many walking trails short and long, and some of them lead to a creek. Beware there is a ton of poison oak on many of the trails just off the path. Having showers and slightly better toilets would improve the camping experience even more.

From start to finish, everyone we interacted with from the planning and coordination team was kind, responsive, and incredibly helpful. From our initial email inquiry and on-site tour to the day of our actual ceremony, the entire process felt streamlined and professional. Wedding planning is insanely overwhelming and stressful, whether or not you have a wedding planner or coordinator working with you. There's so many considerations and small details that are not mentioned to you when you start planning -- such as guest parking, event insurance, alcohol supplies for your bartender, late-night staffing, etc. However, with the aforementioned list and more, Mia walked us through it all in detail and even provided a list of trusted vendors they've worked with in the past at the venue that made decision-making a lot easier. On the day of our wedding, our florist forgot the arch -- a major oversight that would've really shaken up our day, but Mia came to our rescue and let us know there was one on-site that we could rent. Amazing! Mia consistently made sure that any loose ends were tied up before we even noticed them. After careful consideration, I decided that if anything, I should warn other couples that are in the midst of their venue hunt as my experience here wasn't pleasant... to put it lightly. To start off, a bit of a background on myself, I work as a sales manager for a weddings/events company in the Monterey area and am also recently engaged and on the hunt for my dream wedding venue. I know how this process goes and I completely understand that for most couples, it can be both stressful and exciting hunting around for venues and ultimately making a very important decision - booking your BIG day at a wedding venue that perfectly fits you and your partner! Being that I do this for a living, the first thing you are taught in sales is to make the couple comfortable and to be a friendly advisor at the least. The last thing that any couple considers when showing up to a tour is being met with an employee who is rude and abrasive. Unfortunately, that is something we experienced when we came to tour the Amphitheater of the Redwoods. Don't get me wrong, the correspondence from the initial inquiry, to the proposal, to the set up and scheduling of our tour was great! However, when it came down to the actual in-person venue tour with Becka, things went South very quickly. We had emailed Becka the morning of our venue tour asking if it'd be okay to bring our small, very well-behaved dog along with us during our tour as we live an hour away from the venue and still had plans afterwards to visit with family in a different city. We typically don't leave her home alone on our days off. We didn't receive a response from Becka and figured if our dog wasn't allowed on the tour we could leave her in the car and check on her throughout if needed. Fast forward to the tour itself - we parked, rolled down the windows for our dog, Mia, and started walking off to find POL's main office. As we walked over to find the office, Mia let out about 3 barks once she lost sight of us. Understandably so, being that she's in an unfamiliar place and we typically never leave her in the car due to the fear of our car overheating with Mia inside. After barking those 3 times she eventually stopped which helped settle my anxieties of leaving her in the car. We were still in hopes that once connecting with Becka, we'd be given the thumbs up to bring Mia on our tour especially considering POL is mostly an outdoor venue. We located the office and found Becka. We were of course extremely excited to be shown around the property as we really felt that after our tour we'd be finally booking our wedding venue... only to be greeted with "was that your dog that was just barking?" we told her "yes, she's in the car since we weren't sure if she could join us." Becka responded with "well if she continues barking we'll need to reschedule this tour because we have a farewell brunch taking place and she can't come with us" At this point my fiancé and I are standing there silent because this is probably the last thing we would've expected. She continued on by saying, "can we reschedule your tour for a different day?" my fiancé knew how excited I was to see the place and after driving an hour to check it out, we definitely weren't turning around and leaving. He offered to go sit in the car and miss out on the tour because Becka clearly wasn't going to let us bring Mia along.

Mark at age 31 lost his life in 9/11 tragedy by storming the cockpit on Flight 93.

As soon as we set foot on the property, we fell in love and the replacement venue option we almost went with that morning was no longer an option. From the handmade vintage decor, to the repurposed green room, to the beautiful front and back spaces with the giant lighted tree, to the bride and groom's getting ready rooms, everything fit our vibe and we knew we had to get married there. From the day we booked CasaV as our new venue to the wedding day (which was about 1 week) Natalie & Kirt went above and beyond to help us pull together our 150 person wedding. It was one thing that they even allowed us to book their venue with only 1 week's notice, it was another thing that they adjusted their max guest capacity for us, but it was even ANOTHER thing that they helped us in ways they truly didn't have to. Simply allowing us to have our event there was enough but they did more. I could go on and on and on about how beautiful our event was because of CasaV and the people, but I would need a lot more space. Kirt, Natalie, and their family are an example of people who do what they do out of their love for it and for people. Casa V was and still is a God send for us and we will forever cherish them. Let's first start by saying I'm a controller and like things done my way and never feel things will get done properly without me overseeing everything. I met my match with Natalie the owner. Her vision, creativity and attention to detail are beyond what you could imagine. I got to the point where I gave her full reign to do what she wanted and she definitely exceeded our expectations. I also want to commend Natalie on her communication with us throughout the process. She was always on top of everything giving us a checklist and also giving advice along the way to help with a seamless celebration. The best compliment was our guests telling us they didn't want to leave because the atmosphere was so welcoming and they were having too much fun. Amazing location. Amazing host…read more We booked this space for a company retreat. There were 6 of us, we each had our own room/space. There are additional luxury yurts and tents scattered throughout the 44 acre property. The main house is decked out. Everything is upgraded with such fantastic attention to little details. There is an incredible hike to the top of the mountain at the back of the property that leads to an outstanding view of the forest/coast. There is even an avocado orchard! There are plenty of good meditation areas and a great sauna. It's nicely located about 15 min from local destinations. We were even able to doordash food up. I cant say enough good things about Lizard Ranch. Id love to bring my family up for our own retreat!
