We went everywhere by foot and we were so blessed that the beach and park is just across the street. Our condo even had beach chairs, a big beach umbrella and cooler available for us. If we needed the pool there were the two pool noodles that I would definitely have used ((smile)). They think of everything as they even had sunscreen lotion, which I should have used! We rented this 2 bedroom, 2 bath garden villa condominium, online. It was everything we hoped for. It was a spacious and furnished condo, with a living room, dining area, fully-equipped kitchen, 2 full bath rooms, washer & dryer, and a lanai/patio on two sides with a BBQ and plenty of patio furniture. It was located on a beautifully landscaped area, which you might call a garden view. Ours was on the ground floor (#1901). The pool was lovely and well maintained and had a hot tub. It was very clean and well maintained and had plenty of towels, beach mats, beach towels, and kitchen cabinets full of what you might need to cook and eat. Our condo came with "free parking with a designated parking place" right next to our unit. Our particular unit was air-conditioned, at no extra cost. (Although I understand that not all condos in this complex include air conditioning.) Be sure to note that, in addition to the nightly rate, there are taxes, a cleaning fee, and a resort fee, that are added at the end of your order, before you give the credit card. The complex office was very helpful. They were responsive when I called. I called even before arriving in Hawaii, and they answered my questions about checkin. The beautiful Wailea Beach, with gorgeous adjacent hotels (like Fairmont Kea Lani) , restaurants, and a lovely shopping mall, are literally a few minutes from this condo complex. Wailea Beach has public access. We would definitely rent a condo in this complex again, when I return to Maui! We highly recommend "Palms at Wailea Maui by Outrigger" and their management.

We shopped for over 9 months to find a unit that met our criteria! This one hit all the checkboxes such as a quiet complex, close proximity to the beach, on-site security and management, and a pool! The units are quite spacious and each one has two bathrooms! We ended up purchasing a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom unit, and we fell in love with the layout, natural light, and complex. The neighbors are all incredibly friendly too! While we were doing some renovations, we frequently had neighbors lend us tools or even offer to help! There are lots of young families and it feels very safe! We're a young couple who will be long-term renting our unit for a little while until we get our lives back home ready for a move to the island to be with extended family who live in Kihei. We can't wait! We are also quite impressed by the HOA management thus far! It's a new board with new management. Special shoutout to Kate for all of her wonderful work as the on-site manager! Thank you for all that you do! It's clear that this complex has made a real effort to invest in the buildings, landscaping, and community. They also no longer allow short-term rentals which makes it extra quiet! All of the old reviews from 2010-2018 really don't do the complex justice. Everything looked fine when I checked in, but after my first night I woke up with my entire back covered in painful, swollen bites. I had never experienced bed bugs before, so at first I didn't understand what was happening. The second night, I slept in the living room with different pillows, hoping it was just an allergy. Instead, I woke up in the middle of the night from intense burning and pain. The bites spread to my arms, legs, face, stomach, hands -- everywhere. The swelling and irritation were severe and extremely painful. I could not sleep at all. I messaged the owners immediately in the middle of the night telling them I couldn't stay there anymore. They only replied the next morning asking for "proof." I sent photos showing my skin covered in huge swollen red bites, but they answered very slowly and didn't offer any help. They told me they had no other unit to move me to and offered only a refund for the remaining days. Considering the state I was in, this was unacceptable. They didn't truly take me seriously until Pest Control arrived. When the Pest Control workers saw my skin, they were visibly shocked, and they confirmed bed bugs in the bed. Only after their confirmation did the owners agree to issue a full refund. Despite how severe my situation was, there was no apology, no sympathy, no support, not even a phone call. Instead, they told me that I had to leave immediately and that I would only receive the refund once I checked out. I explained that I needed time to wash my belongings so I wouldn't take their bed bugs with me. I had to throw away multiple personal items and urgently book another place to stay. The following days of my trip were ruined. I spent 5-6 days treating painful, swollen bites that made it almost impossible to sleep. What was supposed to be my long-awaited vacation turned into stress, pain, and unexpected expenses -- all because of an infestation that clearly didn't start overnight. The number of bites I received makes it obvious that this issue was ongoing for a long time and not properly addressed. Bed bugs do not appear in such quantities in just a day or two. This tells me the unit hadn't been properly cleaned or treated for months. If you don't want your vacation ruined, your body covered in painful bites, and your health and belongings put at risk, avoid this unit and be extremely careful with this property. The way the owners handled (or rather ignored) the situation was completely unacceptable.

First stop on my home hunting adventure is of course: "The Masters at Kaanapali." This is actually one of my favorite Maui locations. I could literally picture myself living here. I can also imagine how active I'd be by all the potential walking locations I'd have access to. Since you are still pretty close to the ocean. I'd pack up a hiking bag to walk down the hill for a fun filled beach day. Or if I'm in an exploring type of mood. I'd walk the beach walk by the hotels & find a fun restaurant to try out. Plus plenty of shops to check out along the way too. The possibilities are endless. Plus just being in a gated community is on another level. You never have to worry about traffic within the community. Plus the grounds always look nice. The upkeep is seriously impressive. My only downside is each parking lot only has a few guest parking spaces available. However if you're having people over or services done. I've seen people just park on the side of the street. I do love the quick walk from my car, to the sidewalk, down a few steps & to the front door. Even the lush greenery, with the swaying of the leaves along the way is so peaceful. It's almost as if time slows down just to welcome you home. Plus this particular spot is so spacious. You have an entry way on the first floor perfect for stashing your shoes. I'd also store my beach items down here too. Then once you head up the stairs the space just opens up. The first room could be a perfect office space or guest bedroom. The main bathroom also has a washer & dryer. Which if you've ever had to use a shared laundry space. You already know having your own is a must. I'm also in love with this spacious kitchen. I can picture all the fun homemade snacks like kale chips, smoothies & dehydrated fruits. Then walking through the living space to an ocean view is breathtaking. It's almost like a living painting where the photography point of view changes daily. Absolutely love the master bedroom. This large space also includes a walk in closet. The views are great, but I have never met so many unfriendly people all living in such close proximity. My girlfriend and I got suckered in by the great location and views, but never in my life have I been treated so poorly by the managment and neighbors. We were most definitely discriminated against due to our being younger than the average resident. If you are considering renting or buying here, I would seriously think twice about it.

Happened to be there during a tropical storm that prevented us from getting out of the driveway due to mud slide, using the muddy pool and other amenties. We realize it wasn't entirely management's fault, but upgrading the stability of the area would be well worth the expense for the safety of guests.
