Wow. Judy did an amazing job on my nails. I was staying in a hotel nearby and desperately needed a fill so this location was convenient and not bad price-wise. Next time I will plan to get my nails done here on my next Vancouver vacation.

Great manicure pedicure. Very reasonable. Beautiful view of the water to watch boat go by, sea planes land and people walking by. Highly recommend.

Great service and technician. Perfect view too. For a touristy location, my expectations were exceeded. I'd definitely return.

It's overcast but with ocean view!

I started working in the area, and all the people at my office recommended Waterfront nails. You can get a mani pedi on lunch hour they said. I decided to make an appointment. I'm SO happy I did! I'm not well versed in the manicure options. I never had gel or dipped or shellac, what? So I put my faith in the professionals. Mai was so good at consulting. I told her I like a natural look, that I am low maintenance and won't be coming in regularly. So we did classic French tips. Wow I got so many compliments! I loved them, they didn't chip, and lasted 6-7 weeks. I have to mention, they did a basic pedicure while I sat in the massage chair, they did the mani at the same time. All while on lunch hour & gazing at the ocean & N Shore mountains! So I've been twice now. I went back for a fill in. This time I got dipped nails! I didn't ask for them but I put my trust in Mai. I was amazed by the process. Again, getting so many compliments. I'm surprised how strong they are. I'll be going back soon. Who knows what I'll try next time?

What a fantastic nail salon. I was visiting from Seattle and got to enjoy the amazing views while getting a Mani and Pedi and I'm really impressed with how nice my nails look. The staff was very friendly and spent a lot of time making sure my cuticles looked nice, and that my dip was the right thickness. highly recommend!

This is what my nails looked like right after leaving. The shape was all wacky and the tip was didn't have a good coat of polish on them.

I wanted to love this place so much. The view is awesome and staff was friendly. However my nails we're not looking so good when I left.

Best manicure I've ever had! I'm not joking, this is the best dip manicure I've ever had. My Le is so kind, gentle, quick, efficient, and has great attention to detail. My nails have never looked more beautiful! I came in with damaged nails from a nail salon in Los Angeles. I was hesitant to get a dip manicure but she assured me I could get dip and my nails would be fine because she does not do any damage. I immediately felt at ease and comfortable with her professionalism and she did the most amazing job!!! I told her I wish I could take her home to LA with me. I work on a cruise ship that docks near the salon so for the next 4 months I am booking an appointment with her every month when I dock in Vancouver! It's the highlight of my day in port and my nails last the whole month! Also the space itself is lovely overlooking the water. It is a very calming, clean, and professional environment! 10/10 recommended!!!!

    Pedicure with a fantastic view!

Wonderfully nice and talented staff. Gorgeous views. Perfect spot to stop on a trip from the east coast.

Mai does a great job for an excellent price! She did a nice consultation last week until we agreed on precisely what I wanted, which most popular nail salons downtown are completely unable to do. None of them carry the particular products I'm looking for. Got the nails done today and they're so fun! Mai was really patient with my pickiness and she customized my colour. I'm very happy with the result.

-10 This was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. I told the owner that I want to get nails for my engagement. Everytime I came in she told me I had to wait and come back later. I was on lunch break and could not waste 30 minutes. She was feeding someone's dog who came in the shop. She favors white folk and turns into a completely different person when they are around. She did my nails in a complete rush yesterday. I showed her the picture from her own Instagram page and she does not match what's on the picture. She made me feel so upset yesterday. I really had waited for this week to get them done properly. She was very rough as well with my hands she kept yelling relax! And kept pulling my hands and finger tips. Worst nail experience yet. And if you call her when you try to explain she hangs up on you. Also she still answers the call bring fake on the phone to impress her white clients then hangs up again. If she didn't have time for me she shouldn't have said she did in the first place. I left my shopping behind, she took a walk in client after telling me to come by 2pm. She completely wasted my time, ruined my day, wasted my money $94! and now I need them redone as they are way too pink. I did the powder white tipsI with what should be neutral but looks too pink. She mixed up the powders and couldn't take responsibility for her bad actions. I will never go there again. Also worst of all she came into the washroom rushing me to come back since she was ready for me now! Worst customer service experience yet. I want my money and time back. She is not professional and doesn't make sure the client is happy. She is just concerned with taking your money and after doing such a horrible job she says to come back tomorrow to do my toes too. No way! I saw my hands in the sunlight and hated her work and she hangs up on me. She doesn't even care to make me an appointment. She's too concerned with her white clients and is so much nicer to them. She's racist and a fake. It's not like she's doing my nails for free, she overcharges anyway. I showed my nails to another salon they noticed the shape wasn't right and agreed on pink colour not being suitable and showed me their neutral powder. So I gave them a chance but this woman has been so awful to me on many occasions now. I will never go back.

I searched high and low for a nail salon that did SNS nails (dipped nails). Finally found this hidden gem!!! Amazing service. Fast and friendly!! Surprisingly not many locals do dipped nails. Well worth the walk!!! And a great view of the harbor as well!!! Thank you for a great experience!!

After…read moretrying many different spas and facials as well as several high end skin care lines I still wasn't happy with my dull, blotchy and congested skin. Since I've started going to SKN I've had a few different facials and have made the gradual switch to using most of their facial products line. The facials immediately made my skin feel so much better, moisturized and smooth. I enjoy the calming and peacefulness of the treatment rooms and the professionalism of the staff. I'm sure they're all great but Danielle is my favourite; so knowledgeable, professional, kind and really listens to try and figure out what is best for you. She was able to diagnose and start treating the part of my facial skin I disliked the most right away (melasma discolored skin due to sun/hormones). I am genuinely happy with my skin now. The goal in my mind when I went there was to eventually feel comfortable going without makeup on any given day - mission accomplished! It's no longer something I think about besides when I'm using my products and feeling thankful for them and the hard work they do. I should note one of the things that impressed me the most about SKN was the lack of pressure to buy products. During facials they inquire as to what you use on your skin and appear to try to work with what you've got but suggest a few small changes. I also left my first facial with several samples, which was very helpful as I could see if it was a routine that worked for me (it totally did, very easy). I've also tried their laser hair removal and highly recommend it, minimally painful and again, professional and thorough. Given the quality of the technicians, space, products, service and overall experience I find that their prices are reasonable. They also have an online product store now (pick up or have it delivered) and they seem to have monthly specials on products and services. If you're unhappy with your skin and ready to do something about it please don't wait any longer - just make an appointment. Thanks to the crew at SKN and keep up the great work!

You tell me if this sounds fishy to you…read more I walked in today to simply get a basic mani and before I even sat down the girl at the front asked me for my credit card number. I was confused. I asked her why and she told me to hold my spot. Hold my spot? So, I asked her if she wanted me to come back later?....."No, no...." she said, I can take you now. Now I was even more baffled. I told her I'd be paying with debit and she told me well that's totally different. If you want to book online for next time you come in...it will be easier for you with your CC information registered online. Well, first off....how do you know I'll be back.....secondly, can't I just do that myself at home in the comfort of my own space and privacy? Her approach to getting my credit card info. just felt very out of bounds and forced making me feel very uncomfortable. I clarified to her: I just want a basic mani, paying debit when it's done. What do you need my credit card number for? When she realized that I wasn't into the whole...."let's share private information thang" she backed off. To be honest, at that point I was a bit startled, because just about a month ago I had fraudulent theft on my debit card and Vancouver at the moment is under serious ID theft and credit theft. Once she allowed me to enter past the Welcome matt without grabbing my credit card information, she asked me to pick a colour. Two things happened while I was trying to find my colour at the wall in the back. 1. I didn't find any colour I liked (very limited colour selection) 2. The red flags just didn't go away. It just felt off. I left without getting my nails done. I pick a colour. you paint my nails. I pay debit. We all go home happy. What do you need my credit card information for?

Anyway, I booked my appointment with the founder and owner of the shop, Annik. I chose to come here based on stellar online reviews, that Miley Cyrus came here (she has to know a good waxer, right?), that appointments are offered into the evening and that they have hard wax. Also, the location is convenient for people downtown or taking skytrain. The area is really not sketchy like some others have said. Maybe if you are not used to homeless people or people loitering, but let's be real, that's everywhere these days. I was super happy with the services here. The rooms are private and clean. There is no double dipping and Annik, as well as the woman at the front desk, were very friendly and personable. Annik was a perfectionist with her waxing and made sure everything was symmetrical and all hairs were removed. She checked her work several times during the appointment, which I appreciate. She also worked quite quickly. While waxing is not going to be painless, the pain was very momentary.

I'm a hairy guy and I've had the odd girlfriend in the past raise that as an issue. It was never a…read moremake it or break it issue though but I was always a bit of a wimp when it comes to waxing. I'm terrified of doing stuff that could be painful. But, after hearing how so many do this I decided to bite the bullet in August 2019 and get my first full manzillian. I had read that if people were scared of waxing they should try say their back or upper arms but I dove right in. I read a lot online, spent hours reading about the experience of other men and women. One thing that helped me was advice online that recommended people getting waxed take a extra strength Tylenol when they get up, and another just before the procedure as it helps the system be a bit numb to the pain. But in terms of narrowing down where I was going to go, I think I visited and read reviews of several places in Vancouver that specialize in just providing waxing services, as CoalitionSkin does. And for me, what made CoalitionSkin (aka the PxssyShop) stand out was a few reviews by men and how they said that the hard wax CoalitionSkin used is easier on delicate areas like your testes, pubic bone and yes, even your face. Also, in reading the bios online, CoalitionSkin has aestheticians who have both the training and years of experience in waxing that I felt they'd be able to do a good job. Which they do. Finally, I even found and read the health inspection reports for CoalitionSkin and they've never had any major infractions - and my own experience confirms that the place has always been spotless when I've been their. Booking appointments is easy to do online, where you can select your aesthetician and times in advance. My first time in August 2019 was with Camille, who unfortunately moved on shortly thereafter but she was great at explaining things and helping to position me during the waxing. She also instructed me to breathe in just before each rip of the wax and that helped prepare me. What actually hurt more was the odd time she had to go over a spot again as not all the hair would come out during my first wax. The hot wax stung the raw skin. But not for long. The first time also took the longest. Since September 2019, I've gone to Olivia, who has been great. Each time it's been easier as the hair doesn't grow in as fast or as thick. Also in September I started getting my beard waxed. Olivia does that too. I have always had a very thick beard since I was a teenager. When I trim and shave it away, stubble grows back quick within hours and that made dating difficult as by the end of the date, kissing me would be like kissing razor blades. So waxing the beard has helped remove the hair and keep it away for a couple of weeks where the skin stays smooth. And after having it done four times now it's easier each time. My last wax only took an hour or so for both the beard and Manzillian whereas the first beard wax took a good hour and the first Manzillian over 90 minutes, maybe close to two hours. Having said this though, even though it now takes less time, nothing ever feels rushed, they take the time that's needed to do things properly. Overall I'm glad I chose CoalitionSkin. It costs a bit more, but their aestheticians are well trained, experienced and very friendly and easy going. And I don't find it that painful at all. It's partly a mindset and taking the Tylenol helps I think. The CoalitionSkin website has lots of tips to help you prepare too. And they give great advice for aftercare too, like taking it easy for 24 hours and using tea tree oil as part of your after-wax regiment. Next summer, in 2020, I might try getting my back done, and having a bit of cleanup on my upper arms and chest although I don't think I'd ever get my full chest done. I think Camille said that the men she had waxed always said the back hurt the most but we will see! Anyway I can't recommend them enough. Especially if other men are curious about this, or ladies want their men to get stuff done don't be afraid to check out CoalitionSkin!
