Excellent variety and Adrianne gave us a tasting of my first bourbon! Also provides red wines and my gin cans! Come visit, hang out or buy and go!

Waterfront Wine & Spirits is a little gem in Louisville. They have all the hard to find allocated whiskies, of course you have to be willing to pay the up charge on those bottles too. Waterfront also has your regular whiskies at not so badly prices. One cool option here is the tasting bar, which allows you to taste those expensive whiskies before you pull the trigger and buy them.

Old Rip Van Winkle 10, Blanton's Gold, Weller 12x Weller Antique 107, and Stagg. We tasted all of these at very reasonable prices.

Distillery tours aside, we had our best tastings here at the bar and bought a couple of harder to find bottles at very reasonable prices. This is a hidden gem of downtown slightly off the beaten path, and we had a fantastic time chatting it up with another customer. Amine, one of the owners, was also incredibly hospitable and shared his wealth of knowledge about bourbon. We will be back!

Owner was great, but make no mistake, this place is charging secondary prices for popular bottles. You can do better elsewhere.

A lovely little spot with great service. I was very impressed. And as their name would imply, it's in a very cool location.

Very friendly and knowledgeable! Reasonably priced compared to other stores around. Eagle rare was only $89.

Well....what about a place that is all those things? Enter Evergreen Liquors. I came in during a weekday, so the place was very chill and relaxed. Not super busy at all. I was excited to see that they had the newly released Eagle Rare 12 Year, so I definitely had to order a pour of that. I was on my way to a tour, so I couldn't stay long. I grabbed my drink and walked around looking at all their bottles available. I was like a kid in a candy store. The drinking area is more like a vineyard or brewery tasting room feel to it vs. a cocktail lounge - at least in the early afternoon. But they told me the are open to 11pm. I really wish I stayed longer so I could come back to try more bourbons. If or when I'm coming back to Louisville, this is definitely on my short list of spots I have to re-visit.

It's good to know that even 6 years ago I liked Old Town…read more But now....I LOVE Old Town! 5 stars!! I think the biggest difference now is that I drink beer. Back when I wrote my first review, in the good, old days of 2012, I lived on the same street as Old Town and it was easy to get to and had wine that I liked in my preferred price range (so...sweet, white and cheap...just like me! Hey-ooo! :-P) Now, I will regularly go out of my way to make a stop at Old Town. And these days it is primarily for their top notch beer selection! I am always prepared for the cold when I visit Old Town now, because I know I am going to be perusing the beer cave for quite some time. They rank among the top four places in Louisville I excitedly go to, in order to explore special, hard to find, interesting, sought after beer. Even if I am not looking for something specific, I am going to find something I already like if not something that piques my interest enough to try! The biggest plus of a visit to Old Town, aside from the friendly and helpful staff, is that you can buy just about all the beer options as SINGLES. This is huge. This changed my beer-drinking life. I have been able to try so many more beers because of this. When you aren't roped in to buying a four (or more) pack and the beer is 'fancy' and costs $5 or more per beer....doors suddenly open up! Old Town is in the middle of the Highlands, so parking can be tricky. They have a few dedicated parking spaces as well as a drive-thru (if you know exactly what you want) but beyond that it is going to be street parking. They still carry a great selection of wine and liquor, as well as some snack type things (thing cheese and crackers and chocolates). You should absolutely pay a visit to Old Town Wine and Spirits. Just leave some beer for me!
