Sergio has beers from all over the world, hence the name once you enter there is a draft list on the wall above the front doors. You can also explore all the way to the back of the building peeking in cases and behind curtains to discover even more beers. There are several different price points from cheap to expensive. Don't bring your shit beer loving friends here because they'll be sad to see a $90 bud light.

I'm a sucker for silly little beers like this

While roaming around downtown Louisville, multiple locals recommended we stop by Sergio's. I'm so glad we listened because this was such a fun experience. Just getting to know the owner, Sergio, and his eclectic tastes was worth it alone. Sergio's World Beers is the perfect dive bar and is the spot for real beer lovers. The selection of beers on tap were impressive and you are pretty much guaranteed to find something you like in the dozens of fridges filled with beers from all around the world. It was almost too hard to pick which ones we wanted but had so much fun going through all of the beers. We will definitely be returning to this spot the next time we are in town.

This is the kind of place I think the world needs more of. From the outside it feels like a speak easy and on the inside it's like drinking with long lost friends. Sergio is serious about his beers and can point you to anything that you might like. If you can't find something your looking for here, it's only because your lost in the beer coolers. Seriously, there's so many options you don't know where to start. You could drink here for a lifetime. I would recommend this place but in some ways I want it all to myself.

    Just trust the address.

Place was amazeballs. Can I sleep in the basement? Would like to live here. I had this place bookmarked in my Louisville collection along with a bunch of places I never had the time to get to. So very happy that my buddy brought this place to my attention as a place I must go to. Should have looked at their hours before getting my ride in. Got there about 1 on Friday and they don't open until two. Walked around the neighborhood for an hour until opening time. There is no prominent signage on the place to indicate Sergio's. Both my driver and I were uncertain. Just trust the address, and I guess, the pictures of the exterior on Yelp. Finally got in. Well, holy moly, this was the place alright. Only about 40 beers on tap, but coolers upon coolers of bottles and cans of beer from all over the world. 1,700 uniques or thereabouts! Knocked off my New Zealand badge on Untappd which is not an easy one to come by. They get knocked down one from a five because I was dying to get back there on my way to the airport and they were not open on time. Supposed to open at two even on Sundays and they were not open by 2:30. Spent a full half hour camped outside their door before I gave up and went with a nearby backup.

I had the most amazing night at Sergios. I was staying at an Airbnb right across the street and it took me a little bit of time to find Sergio's and even when I went through the door, I was not sure if I was at the right place until I met Sergio himself. Sergio is a gentleman and a scholar and I am lucky to have had the opportunity to spend the night chatting with him. This is an idiosyncratic and unique place that is unlike anywhere that I have ever been. What Sergio has created is truly special! It has the ambience of a speakeasy, in the best sense of the word.

Sergio's is the best hidden beer gem in louisville and possibly the entire east coast. It has a larger selection than anywhere around period the end. The owner has expert level that and travels the world selecting new beers to bring to the restaurant. Not only this but this place features a local dish from the country the Sergio happens to have gotten back from. This is a very cool spot that is soooooooo under rated. This is pub you find eclectic people at.

Sorry not sorry but you don't know your beer or bars at all if you haven't been to Sergio's. This is one of Louisville's most notorious yet at the same time one of Louisville's best kept secrets when it comes to BEER. So I suggest you go here before you die and get overwhelmed by the selection of BEER from around the world. Also make it your new favorite place. Do you wanna regret it on your death bed for not trying beers from places like Italy, Russia, Brazil, Netherlands... Do you wanna miss out on beers brewed by Trappist Monks? You wanna cry because you didn't try draft from their large draft menu? Have you ever tried Banana Bread Beer? Or maybe bacon flavored beer? My freaking god where have you guys been drinking BEER because this is where it's at! It's the true definition of a dive bar and a hole in the wall. Weekdays are quiet, weekends are usually busy but still chill. Introverts, this is your place. Sergio is constantly traveling the world to find all these beers so you don't have to go anywhere. Get some work done on a computer, have a meeting, drink with friends, drink with your boo, drink with your momma or uncle, I don't freaking care. I've been going here for years and always tell people about it.

Thank you Yelp for pointing me to Sergio's. You have to know what you're looking for to find this place. Non-descript door in the middle of a block on Story and windows covered, you don't quite know what you're getting into until you walk in. Speak-easy-esque. And then you walk into what I think of as Cheers with less seating, lack of sassy waitress (erm, server), and a way, WAY bigger selection. I love the bar and really didn't make it past that point since the coolers were all around us anyway. Brightly lit, beer steins adorning the walls, relaxed and welcoming. The bartender was one of the most knowledgable craft beer drinkers I've ever met, steering me from the obscure German gose I had picked out to his recommended pick - another gose of the same vein. If he knows the 'back of the cooler' selections enough to make recommendations his knowledge has got to run deep. You can choose from the variety of taps at the bar, each impressively unique, or you can browse the 'shopping mall of beers' as one Yelper called it by checking out the bottles in the coolers surrounding every inch of non-bar wall space. That was my favorite. Bring your bottles to the bar and they'll pour for you. I've rarely seen a collection of bottled beers like this one, with seasonal rotations from all over, their selection runs deep. My favorite of the night: Bell's Brewery Cherry Stout. I would fight someone for this beer, and I'm a lover not a fighter. They supposedly have food blah blah why go there for food. They have a few TVs there and a game on (soccer) blah blah why go there for sports. Tip: Bring a six-pack holder. Trust me on this. Then at least you don't look like a complete lush walking (stumbling??) back to your car because you are going to want to bring some bottles home.

This might be the best bar in the city. It is DEFINITELY the best bar in the city for beer, and it isn't even close. A bit divey. Don't be deceived by what you see as soon as you walk in. The front room area has a 5/6 seat bar, several beers on tap, and a few refrigerators full of beer that you've likely never heard of. But don't stop there. Go through the hall to the back of the restaurant, and behold the splendor. Beer abounding. Beer everywhere. All kinds. From everywhere. Loved it. A bit more expensive than other places, but worth the extra cost. Trust me. Go to Sergio's and be overwhelmed.

This place was also down the block from our Airbnb so we could walk there. They had a lot of boozy coffee drinks and I really like that. I decided to try their Espresso Martini. This was our last bar stop prior to going out to dinner with friends. My drink had a house made espresso, Absolut vodka, Borghetti (coffee liqueur), a rich simple syrup, and coffee beans. My drink was rich and delicious and I absolutely loved their espresso. I do not recall what drinks my friends ordered. By the time we were leaving there was plenty of people in the place and appeared there was some sort of event gathering. We will have to come back here and with all the coffee drinks they had this may well be the place to start our day next time.

It was established in 1885 and definitely rustic by all means. If you want to take a step back in time this is a good place to start. The old bar, no longer used ( at least we didn't see any bar stools ). Very nostalgic interior. We arrived about 6pm, there were about 6 - 7 tables, we checked outside but the main table was taken and other tables too small for our group of 4; so we grabbed a table. No QR codes for menu or drinks; only was a chalk board of draft drinks and the menus with prices. Oh by the way chicken and sides were about it for the menu, if you wanted a craft beer go to the reach in and pick one. Very low tech but it was a quaint place and brings you back in time of some sense of peace and quiet. I do think they have some bands or something maybe on weekends. Oh chicken plates were going to tables as we waited for a friend to join us; definitely eye catching, looked delicious and nice size pieces. I got tied up in our socializing I didn't take many pictures. The chicken is only available in Tuesdays and Thursdays. Choices are 2 pieces all white or all dark or mixed; same as the 4 piece plate. We all varied in choices ( I had the 4 mixed ) Side choices were potato cakes, collard greens, baked beans, fries, slaw and cottage cheese. Our food arrived and looked just as we seen the other plates going to looked like, plentiful, golden brown and tasty. We commenced eating and we were not disappointed, chicken was great and sides very tasty. 4 pieces you might be taking a to go box back. Happy hour 5-7pm. Definitely worth the trip and an adventure back in time. Stop in on Tuesday or Thursday if you want their chicken. Take in and enjoy the ambiance and food!
