I called to make an appointment & was quickly seen the next day. The front desk staff were nice and the waiting room was clean and offers adequate seating. This office offers a lot of different things such as acne treatment, hair treatment, fillers, and assessments of concerns on the skin. I saw Dr Lacey & she was very nice and personable. She answered all of my questions and explained everything clearly. I didn't feel rushed at all. The only thing I would say to work on is the pricing. I was told one price range over the phone, then signed a paper in office for a different price before my appointment, then ended up being charged a completely different price at the end of my visit. Luckily it was lower than expected. I do know that the different providers do charge a different fee, but I was still confused as to why my pricing changed three times when my provider never changed. Other than that, I'm satisfied with my visit and would come back to see Dr Lacey anytime for any issue. She's very knowledgeable. read more

I have been to Water's Edge Dermatology several times in the past 7 weeks (as well as several times prior to that). I saw a PA, who was kind but not thorough. I then proceeded to see Dr. Lacey a few times for the same condition. She discontinued the meds the PA had prescribed, saying she didn't like them and said I would need to wait 4-6 for results. Fair enough. She repeatedly suggested meds to which I am allergic. Fortunately, I am very much on top of this. She changed the medicine regime and my condition became much worse. As I had been at this for many weeks, and I had additional questions and now more serious concerns, I called the office and asked to speak with her. Despite my best efforts, she made it clear that she was not going to return my call. I continued to try to get a minute or two of her time but she repeatedly declined. Never did I ask some key questions. She ultimately made it clear that unless I am before her and paying, I could take a hike. In 62 years, I have never had a physician repeatedly decline to speak with me while under their care. I am aware that there are surrogates in the office, but it was important to ensure that while going well into my seventh week of treatment while getting worse, that she might want to course correct with addtional information, while I my condition worsened in scope, intensity, pain, etc. Dr. Lacey is fine while she's in front of you, but after her two minutes with you are done, she demonstrated a pathetic lack of commitment to her worried patient and her care. read more

The third visit, I had been waiting an hour beyond my appointed time, and still wasn't called in. I understand this can happen once in a while, but not every time. Receptionist was rude. Medical claims do not necessitate a drivers license be on record, we politely requested NOT to scan our Drivers license, was happy to have them view to validate it was us. Blue Cross/Shield was called, they said no Drivers License should be scanned in, that is above minimum necessary required for claims. United Healthcare has the same stance I was assured they had "super good" security when asked how they secure our data and was told to call corporate, I stated it was inappropriate to ask for more data and store it than necessary per federal law and was then asked to leave. Is everyone a sheep and just provide what they are asked for, does anyone care about their personal information being stored where it is not needed? The question I have is what are they hiding, all questions were to call corporate, the front desk could not answer anything and she was rude. read more

I went to Dr. Bebe today for a 'liquid face lift'. She is amazing! It was a long procedure, but she made sure I was comfortable from start to finish. My pre-op appointment was very thorough so there were no surprises. My face looks much better after only 6 hours! Complete post procedure care was explained, and I was provided with everything I needed to ensure the best possible outcome. If ever there was a "puppy factory" for dermatology ...this is it!! Get you in/out as quick as possible. Left with 4 biopsies and no instructions as how to care for bleeding, scaring, etc. BUT that's only the beginning... gets a LOT worse. Never having heard back after making half a dozen calls that either went to a VM or were disconnected, finally got to the Pathology Dept where I was asked "you haven't heard from the Dr (Dr Lacey)?"... NO, heard from no one. After much haranguing I asked the pathologist to give me the biopsy reports. A few Mohs needed, a scarp/burn AND you have a Malignant Melanoma!! NEVER HEARD FROM DR LACEY! Myself and my family have been patients of Dr. Mini in Port St Lucie for over fifteen years. I have known him since he was in medical school and he treated me while I was hospitalized in Miami when he was a student. I will NEVER return. After calling for four months to resolve a billing issue and being told the office manager would return my call, I was never contacted. I later called to make a new appointment and was told that my bill was put in for collection, and that I could not see the doctor. I again called the office and it was noted that I called several times and spoke with both Alison and Bridget, who requested that the office manager, Monica, get in contact with me. NO ONE ever called me back. When I found out my bill was put in for collection I called the office again, and spoke with Monica. She was extremely rude to me and told me it was my fault. She then referred me to the regional manager, Jillian Perkins, who was going to call me and sort the matter out. That never happened. Two days later I called the main office in Palm Beach and requested again to speak with Jillian Perkins, and was told that she was being instantly messaged to let her know to call me. I never received any return call. This is completely unprofessional, and now I have to wait for a collections notice to dispute the claim. The billing practices are completely unethical. I never received any billing statement or was neither asked to for payment at the time of the visit. My billing came later in the mail, and when I wanted to discuss the invoice I was never contacted by the office manager, Monica, who was supposed to call me back several times. Again, when I did finally call and speak with her she was rude and suggested it was my fault that the bill was put in for collection, even though the phone representative told me it was noted in their system that the office manager was going to call me to discuss the bill. Again, THEY COMPLETELY IGNORED me. They obviously do not care about the patients, even those that have been with them for over fifteen years. I have recommended many people over the years, and that will all stop now. My new recommendation is to go to an independent dermatologist where you will be treated with respect, which their office staff needs to learn. read more

I've tried twice to get an appointment with Waters Edge in Port Charlotte. Both times I've been told that the one Dermatologist working in PC is not accepting new patients. What? They told me that I can see a Nurse Practitioner if I wanted. I wanted to see a Dr at least for my initial appointment and for follow up visits a NP would be fine. I have nothing against Nurses, my Wife is an RN. What a crappy way to run a business. In my mind, they are running the business with cheaper labor just to save a buck. I have heard good things about Waters Edge. Too bad they aren't giving out any Doctors appointments here in PC. read more

After I tested positive for skin cancer I was assigned (without a consultation) the type of procedure and the surgeon. I loved my doctor. I'd been a patient for 12 years when the billing department sent me to collections for a 43$ payment. I had 12 years of excellent history and always laid on time. I had moved and received the bill late, when I saw it I tried to pay online and the system wouldn't let me. 1 week later I was in collections. :Beware Of The Water's Edge Medical Facility Located On Kings Highway In Port Charlotte Fl. : I had an exam with my V.A clinic prior to- and mistakenly going the Water's Edge Dematology, My V.A. doctor told not to be concerned of the so "called- liver or age spots" and some moles that were on my back- but shortly after on 12-5-17 I thought I would try the Water's Edge free exam. and get another opinion as my back was itchy on ocation. I was told by a wonderfull Nurse practitioner that I may have a questionable cancer spot- and she would like to do a very small biopsy -size of a common pin head, Shortly after that I was told by the same nurse that she would like to do another biopsy as the first biopsy was too small- and it would be good if she did another a bit larger as well and if it were cancer the larger biopsy would be getting all of the cancer out and more completly and saving me time for an operation if needed. I agreed to have her do it and she proceded by marking the area with an indelible ink pen ( better known as a ball point pen),plus not shaving any of the hair and directly over my spine next to( no. # 4 disk area and the incision is over 2 inches long and finishing up with two rows of long sutures-one inside near the spine and disk area and the other row on the outside of the back,all this was not known to me untill they gave me photos after the very invasive procedure,plus never putting me on penicillin and attempting to simply trying to discharg me, not even telling me if the biopsy ever came back from the lab saying if I did or did not have cancer,It took them over 10 minutes to get me an official answere, that I did not have cancer, as they seemed to be very eager to just discharg me. I ended up with a serious infection and went back and demanded that I see a staff doctor, and I did see one and she took over- to drain and change the bandage three times per. week for several visits, and then she discharged me- plus charged me a $40.00 co-pay to re burn a mole that was done by the nurse a short time prior to the biopsy- and being that it was burned twice in a short time- and over burned and that too is a problem now -as the skin area has turned into a nasty hard skin surface like the texture of a wart. Shortly after being discharged by the Dr.I have made 4 trips to a Medical Clinic, was on a total of 4 regiments of penicillin, 7 visits to an Infectious Disease Doctor that was surprised that a disease culture should have- but was never taken, plus 3 visits to a Neurologist,and a M.R.I. as the damaged area was very close to my spine and disk. and now I ended up with a horrible 2 inch and still cherry red scar, and this nightmare was almost 1 Year ago,and if I put the tip of my finger over the scar area it feels like a paper layer of skin lacking any muscle or fat tissue and inbetween my spinal discs. I have spent close to $1,000.00 for out of pocket- for co-pay expenses. I made several attempts to be re-examined by one of the Water's Edge Doctors but was ignored each and every attempt that was made, and I called on 11-01-18 and talked to a gentleman who is their Practice Administrator and was promissed a visit with a new Dr. on their staff, But that never happened as well. read more

They removed cancer on my back and it became infected. They never scheduled a follow up and tried to schedule a mose procedure that they are not approved for with the VA . This method was only required to get more money out of our government. They should never be allowed by VA to be utilized for us veterans that are abused for their own profits over our medical needs. If you're serious about your health I would not go to this place. Money is their only main focus. I went in to Water's Edge Dermatology for a scalp issue. The nurse practitioner(Jennifer Marshall) recommended a biopsy which I agreed to after asking her series of question regarding my condition. All her answers were "it could be this, it could be that......" So I agree to the biopsy, I have Blue cross blue shield PPO their office never inform me the cost. I went to check out, they tried to collect $224 from me, I was very surprise and told them I need to call my insurance and have no problem paying them if that was the case. I came back 2 weeks later to have my stitches remove, the reception told me I owe them $236 now and that they've bill my insurance and my insurance paid them $251.24. They billed my insurance company double what they told me the cost of the biopsy and now trying to collect even more money from me. I asked her to give me a few days to speak with my insurance company and asked for the printout of what was charge and what was billed. The aid took me in and gave me a result of "Lupus" but the doctor neve came out to see me or go over the biopsy report, treatment, and etc. I asked if the doctor will see me regarding the result and treatment plan, the aid reply, "no because you didn't want to pay......" I never said I won't pay I just wanted to clarify with my insurance first especially I was told two different charges. I left the office feeling horrible, scare, and confused. This office totally neglect their ethical obligation to me as a patient, fail their "duty of care". I had to google "discoid Lupus" myself regarding treatment and what it is. Few days later the nurse practitioner called me twice leaving a message about my diagnosed and asked if I had any question. Lmao!!!! But then there is no one to speak to all is on thhe computer so if you have to cancel an appointment you have to pay for it because there is no one there to answer the phone. Went to the Palm Springs location. This place is a scam. Literally go anywhere else. I paid about $200 to get a mole removed. Then they called me a week or two after and told me that they will need to take more off of the mole and it'll be an additional $500.... I told them no thank you please cancel my appointment. A week later I get a $300 bill from UF health which is where they sent my mole to get looked at. They NEVER told me that they would be sending it to a third party and that I would have to pay more. I would never recommend this place to anyone. For one mole with NO results I had to pay $500. (Also I went there to get my face checked, then all of a sudden she wants to remove a mole off my arm and I didn't know better and just trusted the lady, never again). Yesterday I underwent Mohs surgery with Justin Platzer, MD. There was less than a five-minute wait once I arrived at the Indiantown Road facility. Dr. Platzer's medical assistant was very pleasant and informative. The surgery was quick and painless. It's been almost 24 hours since the surgery, and no pain yet. I will go back to have stitches removed on May 18, but would recommend this doctor and procedure. read more
