They put on social activities of some kind (ie-happy hours, meals, game nights, and more) pretty much every month at the Apartment Office so that we, as a community, can get together and bond. Their last one was the Fall Feast and I was able to connect more completely with my next door neighbor and now we're really good friends which I'm extremely grateful for. They've done so many things to improve the complex as well such as overhauling the amenities (ie-redoing our sauna, adding in a pet wash station) and have really just created this fantastic place to live. They're even going to assist in revitalizing the area affected by the flooding in July of 2025 in order to kind of bring back some of the beauty that we were able to look at from our balconies. When I walked through that front door 9 years ago, I knew immediately that this was where I belonged. I've had apartments in Austin and in Round Rock and I've never really felt that deep sense of peace that I felt here. They were always just somewhere I was staying at for a short time before moving on to something else. It's hard to explain just the degree of certainty that I felt walking past that threshold...certainty that I wasn't going to just be looking for a new place to go to next...certainty that I had made the right decision...certainty that I was finally HOME.

The apartment complex was built cheaply and they claim to be "luxury" but any close look around will prove otherwise. There was a couple months of crickets and scorpions falling out of the air conditioning vents (I sent pictures of where they were going into the walls from outside and it was weeks before anyone filled the holes.) I was electrocuted by bad wiring in my AC unit. Dog poop EVERYWHERE! There was no initial walk through when I moved in but my brand new unit had muddy footprints on the carpets and was missing cabinet hardware, there was paint spots on the floor. Fast forward to my move out... I received an invoice over a month after moving out that had so many charges and credits it was impossible to understand. They turned a cut and pasted together document into collections which doesn't even seem legal. My advice: STAY AWAY. This place is overpriced and they deal in bad business practices. There are much nicer and cheaper places available!

Generally, I find most places tolerable, but this one has been absolutely miserable and by far the worst place I've ever lived. To start, the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing--from conversations to televisions, footsteps, even phone calls. If you're someone who values sleep or peace and quiet, this is not the place for you. It's almost impossible to get a good night's rest. While the front office staff seems friendly on the surface, actually getting a response from them is another story. They are extremely slow to respond to emails or calls--if they even respond at all. And when they do, the leasing office offers very little help or follow-through. Be very wary of the glowing reviews you see on Google. Many of them come from people who attend events the complex hosts and are not actual residents. Meanwhile, legitimate negative reviews from actual residents mysteriously disappear over time, which is deeply concerning. The apartments themselves are poorly and cheaply built. At one point, crickets were literally crawling through the vents. It's that bad. While the amenities look nice on the outside and the maintenance team has been wonderful, those are the only redeeming qualities of this place. There have also been several power and internet outages, which is incredibly difficult when you work from home. And I've never lived anywhere where the police have had to be called so often--for a variety of serious reasons. Other residents here can absolutely attest to everything I've written. This is not an isolated experience--it's a pattern. Living here has been incredibly stressful, and I honestly cannot wait for my lease to end. Do not move here. This place is miserable and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Ray even told me I needed a new breaker box! Then my refrigerator went out & ruined over $200 of food & water was everywhere! Every single week, we receive yet another email from "Property Management" outlining new penalties and threats for not complying with their demands--yet on the flip side, they refuse to take responsibility for even the most basic customer needs. I've lived here for less than a year and have already dealt with electrical outages, parking issues, mailing problems, and A/C failures. The only time they show any urgency is when they see that you've paid your rent on time. Otherwise, they take forever to respond, if they respond at all. Management repeatedly claims they're "not responsible" for anything except collecting a check--one you literally have to hand-deliver to them. They lure you in with the beauty of the complex, but do not be fooled. They do not maintain cleanliness, they are not responsive, and they absolutely do not care about the residents who live here. As a Disabled Veteran, I can say with full conviction that I hope no Soldier ever has to deal with this place. It has been nothing but disappointment and disrespect from day one.

The club house also has a fitness center with new equipment along with a ping pong table and sitting area. While I thought the apartment complex was brand new, a resident told me that property was about 1.5 years old. These luxury apartments are located at 1701 Wolf Ranch Parkway in Georgetown. The apartment complex features modern one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with upscale finishes like quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances. Some of the amenities include a resort-style large pool deck with cabanas, a golf simulator, and an onsite pet park. If I was in the market for an apartment, I would definitely consider Varenna Lakeside...super cool property.

*06/30/26 UPDATE* So I decided to lease here, was told the…read moreunit was "READY" and the website stated that same thing, however when I went to get the keys and do the inspection for the checklist I came across quite a few problems. I have put 13 maintenance requests this morning which is a lot for a unit that should've been actually ready for a tenant to move in. It looks like the maintenance team only went in and patched the walls and painted everything and called it a day, the rest of the unit was never even inspected to see if it needed something. So far this isn't looking good, so if you are considering on leasing here just take this with a grain of salt and make your decision. I do want to point out that I just moved in and I'm going to give the maintenance team the benefit of the doubt because we're all human and it could have been missed or something but then again who knows. I will keep updating my review as time goes by. ----------- Toured this place in June, gate wasn't working because "a new one was just installed" The amenities were decent, the pool area was nice (I'm not a pool person) the gym was not too small but also not too big, I do wonder wether or not it gets too busy during the week that you cannot workout due to all machines being used. CLARIFYING SOME REVIEWS: From what many reviews have in common is that many tenants that have multiple vehicles use up all the guest parking spaces which leaves no space for actual guests to park which I do see happening, I saw a mini van parked with a windshield cover and it had an imprint on the floor from previous rainy days which led me to believe that it has not moved for a few days so that vehicle does belong to a tenant who has multiple vehicles or multiple people live in one unit which is not a 2B/2B with two car garage. Other reviews point towards getting charged at the end of the lease but those are people who either didn't have a deposit or don't know how that works. It is obvious that those reviews were made because they were upset. Some others were about noise complaints? But it was during the day which technically is okay, I mean no matter where you go there's gonna be noise unless you get a house in a secluded area away from everyone and everything. Last but not least, the leasing office. When you call to talk to someone you will almost never get a hold of them which is not good for the complex. You will get the AI 99% of the time. The reviews that point towards the leasing office may be accurate and true so just be aware of that when you call. I am yet to decide if this complex is right for me or not but I will update my opinion and thoughts on this review if this complex is the chosen one.

Prices are sky rocketing and this is one of the best apartments in the area, but its clearly a money making venture and treating people with respect is not a priority. During the worst of the pandemic, the office arranged food trucks, so people were congregating and several became ill. The security gate never works. Its either open 24/7, broken down completely, or doesn't close til after dark. Its a pointless feature. There is dog droppings all over the place. Management does nothing about this and does nothing about residents bringing glass to the pool. This is pretty standard with low paying office jobs. If They paid their employees more then they may have more incentive to keep the place looking nicer and the guests in line. Lastly, until recently, we recieved emails almost twice a day that did not pertain to us. Just email blasts about random nonsense like maintenance in a single building.

I was so relieved all that stress was gone. I got moved in and have been loving it here at residences of Stillwater for the last 2 months. The people are friendly, the property is clean and the staff could not be any better. The maintenance guys are great about fixing things. Erin is a really great property manager, and I'm not saying this because I work at Residences of Stillwater as a Leasing Representative but because all of the above things have made me feel at home. I really do feel this community is great!!!
